greetings Macintosh users we've been dealing with a small issue for a while now regarding the Konica Minolta copiers the drivers they put out recently require double-sided printing for every print job there's no switch we can flip to change this to single sided printing easily but there is a workaround it's called a print preset the easiest way to create it create a print preset is to launch TextEdit you can type whatever you want to document you can leave a blank it doesn't matter but go to print your document when you do choose a Konica Minolta copiers print I'm going to choose the North kits that viz hub and what you do when those drivers kick in you can click on text edit from the drop down menu go down to layout finish the layout finish option and here you'll see that the print type says two-sided we can manually change this to one sided printing again from print type change it to one sided printing then go to your presets which is the second option in the window click on the bar and choose save current settings as preset name the print set for the print preset whatever you wish I'm going to name it single sided printing and choose all printers this will enable this preset for every printer that has double sided printing as an option so we choose all printers single sided printing we say okay once I do that when I've print this this will now result in a single sided print job being sent to the printer and that print preset being locked in as an option for the future if I were to change applications to say Libre Office and go to print a document here now when I choose the nth bit hub or any bits of I will now have single sided printing as an option and I can test to make sure that this is working by going to layout finish in this application and instead of single sided printing choosing default settings the print type changes to two-sided again when I choose single sided printing again it changes back to one-sided so it works in other applications when I do this I can also go to preview to print a picture and when I do so the same thing will happen in cage biz hubsan said it printing will result in one sided printing now there are a couple of exceptions to this rule the first one is Google Chrome when I go to print an email or I go to print a story from the GPS editorial system Chrome has its own print window that doesn't have the option to choose a print preset so I click the printer icon and what I do you will see an option in the bottom of the print side bar here it says print using system dialog I'm going to want to choose that option once I have the system dialog then I can once again choose a print preset to use to force single sided printing to work for my printer I can print this now I'm not going to but I could print this now and it would print one-sided same thing with GPS if I have a story I want to print for example a print preset sample I would come in here go to story tab edit my story and then click the printer icon and again it says in cage biz hub but there's no single cited print options here you have to use the print using system dialog option in order to actually choose the single sided printing preset it will not activate until you choose the system dialog so that's printing from Chrome and that's for both GPS and for email and anything else you might want to print from Chrome then there are the Adobe applications I'll start with Acrobat to print from Acrobat I will hit command P or I will go to file print one way or the other and when it pops up I've chosen the printer but again there's no way to choose the print preset what I have to do is click on the printer icon the printer button in the print window choose it from here choose single sided printing when I hit print this won't actually print when I hit print this will revert me back to acrobats print window and then from here I can now print from here and it will print a single sided documents instead of double-sided documents last but not least for those of you who use InDesign there's an extra step involved when you have like when you want to print a proof of a page go to command P to print choose the printer you want again I'm going to choose North gets up spin sub just to keep it the same there is again a printer I button you have to choose down here printer click on the printer button just say ok to this window it doesn't mean anything and then you'll have the OS print dialog again choose the printer choose single sided printing hit print it will return you to in designs print window then you want to click on the setup option right here on the side bar it says setup choose setup and then choose 11 by 17 for your paper size choose to scale to fit it'll automatically go to center and then save this preset as well as a single cited page proof we'll call it save that and now you actually have a print preset for InDesign that's not only set up to print single sided it's also set up so that it will always print on 11 by 17 paper scaled to fit and centered once you do that the print outs will come out just fine and that is how you create a print preset in Mac OS 10 so that you
