hi thanks for joining I just bought two new pieces of equipment for my astrophotography and I thought I'd give you my initial impressions of them track we find useful the first is the camera from a bar called the t7c it seems to be on a number of online forums to sell I couldn't really see any reviews of it be new to astrophotography and the second is a small adapter to allow my Sky Watcher 9 by 50 finder scope to be adapted to be used as a guide scope so I've been trying both of those piece of equipment out this week and I thought I'd give you my initial impressions the reason I wants to buy this equipment is threefold really firstly I want to improve my polar alignment by using the sharp cap / alignment facility secondly I want to start experimenting with guiding and to help over the course the evening and our night for my photographs and thirdly I'm seriously considering buying a much more expensive astrophotography camera and I wanted to see how I got on with using sharp cap with this type of camera I've used a standard data tool after some time key factor on what a DSLR on its way to me through the postal service at the moment and but so I'm reasonably familiar with using that for shot camp with child cap however I want to see how we get on with a different type of camera so this is what you're getting the parcel arrives nicely packaged the main camera along with various adapters and wires to work with it which I then we'll take our box now and show you what's in there now the first thing to notice is the absence of any instructions whatsoever - very much on your own or some helpful soul even your YouTube video to explain how this might possibly work and things you do have in your box however is you've got the use the canonical connector you've got the guide connector at the top the camera with a fisheye lens on the audence those all over use fisheye lens that came with it and along with various adapters for connecting different components and what looks like a little infrared filter in there as well which can be used and I have used it for use during day as well so you can see by moving the camera around we've got the TV in the back to the wires going to for the USB connector for the PC and also for the guide ports also then taking the front off the camera we can see that the chip inside that's the main action here and is the main reason for buying the equipment in this case so now look to see how we attach the camera the finder scope so firstly we remove the current finder scope eyepiece and then we screw the adapter into it has to go quite a long way in this way it is a little bit disconcerting if you could kind of just going down the tube it does and stop very securely at the end it then attached with one of the other attachments that came with the camera and then the camera itself to put them into the finder scope so if user camera you need to connect it to your PC using USB wire providers also any PC you'll need to do a few things now strangely enough the drivers for this camera are actually a wo zue drivers for their camera range and and so you need to go to the their website to download those drivers also you need to make sure you've got a version of shot cap also the intended to polar alignment or many of the premium features for short cap you'll need to sign up for one of their annual thanks little annual plans for it or certainly just use the free version but not use some of the fancier features that come with it so the day the camera arrived I went outside got everything set up super excited to be using it and and for the slightest pointers when I saw the initial results fast evening for dusk was complete I could see there was some blobs appearing on the screen and that was both when I had it through the finder scope I also tried through the telescope making sure I wasn't the optics causing this and that was a slider disappointment and it didn't stop me carrying on flash the evening trying other activities out I've since contacted the vendor not surprisingly they've advised me to clean the microchip which I was a little bit concerned about which product to use obviously not to use the bleach which is much in the news at the moment do they recommend a cleaning product that's tempting not the case for these however and what you do need to use is very pure alcohol boundaries so I've ordered some of those which will be coming through the post I'm continuing to use the camera in the meantime anyway so as it got dark I was able to try out some of the features further I was able to get the polar alignment work after a fashion however I was a little disappointed results need to take a considerable amount of time to solve it it's only the night following day I realized the error of my ways and I haven't officially focused the finderscope so I then went out yesterday actually and spent the evening focused purely on getting the finder scope right I went out with my Isaac GTI line we mount purely in standard mode or an equatorial mode with the focus of getting the focus right and that worked I'm pleased to say I also found a button off mask print on the 3d print site and used that which was very useful just for testing out the button on focus feature of shot cap as well so by the end of last night as getting much better focus in the finder scope I was able to do the first stage of polar alignment I focused on the Polaris or nearby Polaris and pressed the buttons on shot cap to start the polar alignment process and it very quickly identify the right stars and wanted me to move on to the next stage obviously as I wasn't in equatorial mode of that plate I wasn't I able to do that but it gives me confidence that from a home on alignment perspective that the first one of my chases should be met by this now it's going to be cloudy tonight the next time we get a nice clear night I'll do some further testing neck rhetoric mode but that was a good good first step and give me more confidence and the first night I've been out further last night I also tried using it to look at some other stars and funnily enough the tomek's and just as the great satellite parade by a must came past so I saw some of those Jared passing by through my main lens and telescope and but also was focused on him with the finder scope which included on this was a clip now I had a few concerns it seemed to be moving around but I could well be for many other reasons anything to other camera so I'll do some further work and in a further video look to see how it might work as
