across an interesting Kingdom ministry which was really only written about five years ago you can appreciate it it's been a while since I've even been to a meeting but the more I revisit JW org and the watchtower library I'm continually astonished by just how many barriers it seems the leadership tries to place between God and has supposed children and people now if you follow my channeling you know I don't really have much of a belief in a biblical or deistic God so this isn't my Hill to die on but it's remarkable how you can go from the draw close to God book on one hand which I feel was one of the best publications they ever produced where it's all about the merciful compassionate fatherly and gentle profile to what I'm about to share with you on the other hand where it's like they almost try to make God seem aloof distant exacting and top-heavy I remember even as a pioneer how strenuously I would try to square this by pole or a representation of Jehovah and to draw close or greatest man book with the remote and inflexible personage backing the policies of the governing body this is shockingly on display with regards to their counsel towards women in the organization now I'm going to go through this March 2015 kingdom ministry piece entitled when a sister must conduct now as I do especially if you're a woman try to reconcile the god of the draw close book with the one underwriting these policies it starts by saying a sister should wear a head covering and would normally be seated when conducting a meeting for field service as you know the Jehovah's Witnesses have a tome of regulations surrounding women's role and behavior in public including when to dawn a head covering and so on the full extent of that will have to be detailed in other videos but let's continue things are supposed to run the optics of a woman so much is appearing pedagogical or instructive is totally inappropriate but this sexist scene which could have almost been ripped straight from an episode of Mad Men is God's idea of acceptable worship the next sentence continues the service overseer should try to anticipate unusual situations and give appropriate instruction so as to minimize awkwardness that pretty well says it all doesn't it the situation even in their own words is awkward to begin with it's the service overseers job to mitigate this awkwardness I somehow just knowing who will show up for field service each day and instruct the sisters accordingly this is precisely what I mean about the two inconsistent images of God portrayed in their teachings all throughout the greatest man and draw close books it's love dignity reasonableness and forbearance how often in the geezus flout the inflexible dictates or tradition of the scribes and Pharisees who would approach themselves upon the seat of Moses woe to you scribes and Pharisees hypocrites he rebuked because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men now as I said I'm not really a believer I'm not throwing scripture around as any kind of authority here but this is exactly what the governing body does they shut up the kingdom of the heavens by making God indifferent remote and trifling Lee petty let's read on for example a very young perhaps preteen baptized brother might attend when a sister is assigned to conduct but the elders feel that he has not yet qualified to conduct the meeting in such a case the service overseer can inform those involved that the assigned sisters should conduct the meeting but the brothers should say the prayer if the elders feel that he has qualified end quote so we're gonna breathe past those three disturbing words preteen baptized brother and just again try to visualize this okay so instead of brother righteous over much now it's his son brother pimples who should the elders feel appropriate is the head to instruct and lead a pioneer woman in prayer imagine that a lady like Lee thrice his senior must submit to God's perfect headship arrangement assuming God exists and inspired the Bible is this really what he would have had in mind is this really consistent with the person in Christ now here's another instance they bring out the kingdom ministry reads or perhaps there's an adult brother who's restricted from conducting the meeting or offering congregation prayer for reasons known by the elders without revealing confidential information the elder should let be a sign sister know that they should conduct and pray even if he's in attendance the elders might also let the brother know which days sisters are scheduled to conduct a meeting for field service unquote so let's again just try to visualize ourselves the field service arrangement brother drink here top happy is not allowed to pray for obvious reasons in fact let's make this even more realistic he was just dealt with judicially so to evidence proper amorous and avoid being disfellowshipped he needs to bring his field service hours up to the car negation average he's really trying to pull himself back into the congregation's good graces and is participating in midweek preaching all the sisters in attendance know their places very well they know that woman to lead in prayer not just that it's not just that they know he was dealt with judicially they don't realize he's struggling with a fairly understandable porn addiction or subtle drinking problems say he may very well have cheated on his wife or even molested a minor who knows really all such matters are viewed equally in knives of God it's all sin requiring the same propitiation 'he's nobody has been privy to quote-unquote confidential information but we're all very well aware what kind of conversations are being had behind his back amongst the gossipy pioneers and only all because of these inflexible rules you see it wouldn't be such a big deal if this were as they said a rare occurrence but it isn't I was a pioneer and there were a few times I remember conducting the arrangement and calling upon brother Phap happier brother loose conduct to say a prayer totally unaware of his restrictions only to be interrupted by brother righteous overmuch insisting is probably better if he offered the prayer now imagine the embarrassment of that poor brother who is just trying to get quote-unquote spiritually well again so I want to reiterate is this really what Paul under divine inspiration had in mind when writing about male headship how can all this be with the example of Christ anyway just to wrap up I want to allude to the box in this kingdom ministry it says during a meeting for field service you might consider to which a list of 17 appropriate method sisters should use to conduct an arrangement all of which consist of basically reading a manuscript from a publication playing something off the website or opening up a group discussion how can any woman think this is dignified or consistent with the kind of Shepherd presented in the draw close book or
