foreign [Music] hi everyone this is Douglas at PCC the bank just told you that a check bounced or maybe you've had a credit card payment stopped or some other payment reversal how do you do payment reversals in PCC EHR first open the payments tool you can search for a family's account or if you've been working for them already you can pick them like this and by the way you can jump straight into payments from the billing history inside a patient's chart after you've got the account Open click on the history tab okay let's find the payment that needs to be reversed now in this case and it's the most common example you received a return check notice otherwise known as a bounced check but it could be any kind of payment reversal you can use this search filter over here for example to find it by check number okay so it's this 207 check that was returned you can click to see the details right now if you want to see what the check is paying off when you're ready to indicate that this check was returned you click on it and then you click reverse payment okay up here are the details of the payment and then I've got two lines first the reversal I'm reversing it today so I don't need to change the transaction date and then I select my practices custom reversal type how we use return check your practice can actually create their own reversal adjustments if you want to say it differently you might have a stopped credit card payment reversal type here as well the next line is the fee does your practice charge a fee for a bounce check maybe that's on a case-by-case basis you make the call right here so in this case yes you select a return check fee once again you could have custom fees at your practice and it automatically put in 25 for me my practice set that up obviously I can change that on the fly as needed okay I you're reversing the check and you're charging a fee this looks good to you click save okay you've done it you reversed that payment if you if you look down here in the payment history and the payment is crossed off and in the refunds and reversals column you can see both that the check was returned and that we charged a fee for it even more important uh reversing the payment probably changed the account's personal balance that's right up here at the top of the screen now they owe the practice for those charges and they'll get a bill next time you run bills so the next part is up to you if there are any other details if you call and talk to the family send them a portal message that kind of thing you might click over here on the posting tab you can adjust account...
