if you are starting a restaurant or bakery someone is going to probably ask you for a business plan you could be asked by bankers investors lawyers or even your landlord don't sweat it I will today walk you guys through how to create your business plan so that your restaurant or bakery will succeed [Music] there are a few different formats and you can write a business plan in but today I'm going to go through a simple format that will make it so you can write a quick business plan when you really need it number one the first part of your business plan should be the executive summary so the executive summary should be no more than like two or so paragraphs long you want it to be short because this is the first thing that someone is gonna read when they see your business plan if it's too long and lengthy they could get bored and quickly just put it away and that would be it even though this is the first part of your business plan you actually want to write it laughs this is because going through the rest of your business plan is going to make sure you have all the details together and fresh in your head so that you're ready to write the summary which is the executive summary it's a summary of the entire business plan that can give someone a quick overview of if they're interested or like your business or they don't this is often the only section that people read and that's because during this section they're gonna decide if they care about your plan or if they don't basically make sure it's quick and to the point and that it is engaging and convincing that your idea is awesome number two is the company summary in this section you'll say what kind of food you will serve write about the experience that you plan to give your customers what kind of food will you serve are you gonna buy or lease the property where do you plan on putting your restaurant or bakery what is your concept what is your brand and who will own it is it just you do you have a business partner in the next section you want to write how much money you will need now you don't have to get big and set up financials because later in the business plan there will be an entire financial section in this section you're just going to write a brief overview of how much money you need and what you plan on using it for and when you can pay it back in basically a pretty brief summary the next section will be the target market who are you targeting as your customer what demographic are they in are they young are they older what age group what ethnicity are they do they go to school are they working are they parents these are all things that you want to specify in this section you might have primary target customers and secondary target customers so your primary audience could be the immediate area which is working moms but there could also be a small university near you that could be a secondary market that would also maybe be interested in coming and checking out your products in this section you also want to include market trends so you want to say how is the market doing in your area what are the trends for bakeries pizzeria ever it is in your area how are they doing what have you noticed have you noticed these grata businesses are things flourishing and doing really well you also want to include a few of a floor plan and architect drawings now my guest to be at this point you might not have those things yet and that's okay if you don't have it instead make a mood board basically it will show all the things that you plan for your restaurant give the proper vibes for your restaurant it'll say where you plan on putting the seating will color things it'll be how you plan it to look like is it gonna be luxurious is it gonna be on the cheaper end is it gonna be colorful or is it give you more blacks grays and neutral this is where you really want to show them the vibes of your restaurant to get them excited and understand how they would feel walking in the next section is Human Resources who is your management team do you know who your management team is yet is it you are you the founder and you're gonna be there on the day-to-day or are you gonna hire a manager and supervisors if you know if other people are gonna be involved in your management team then you want to include summaries about them why they're qualified to be on your management team what their background is like you also want to include any relevant information about you why are you gonna be successful what background do you have have you worked at a restaurant in the past have you worked at a bakery in the past do you love baking you love cooking certain things have you entered a contest and won anything that is relevant next you want to go into the competition so includes direct competition and indirect competition direct comprehension is someone who is selling pizza and your sewin Kisa completely direct competition for me that would be anyone who is selling cookies because I own a business called cooking punchers if you are new to this channel we have two locations one in New Jersey and one in Tampa Florida which is where I'm at right now back to the video there is also in direct competition which basically means they'll sell cookies but they sell desserts so my target market could choose to go to them over me even though they aren't directly selling the same product the next step would be to write a summary of your marketing plan this is basically what are you delivering to your target market what promise are you making them and how are you gonna get the word out this could be through email marketing through flyers do Facebook through Instagram through tik-tok whatever it is that you believe you'll get your restaurant out on you want to mention it in this area you want to make sure that whoever is reading this section understands that you understand marketing if you haven't already this section you can also rear-end them or include your position in the market are you cheap are you luxury how are you acquiring new customers are you going to events are you gonna have a mobile set up at different places are you gonna have a loyalty system which by the way cookie wedges does have a loyalty system that we use if you're interested in hearing more about that let me know in the comments below and I can make a specific video on what we use and why I recommend it and secondary options that we looked into let me know in the comments below if you're interested in knowing more about customer loyalty systems we will go into the financials deception needs to make it clear why your business is feasible what initial investment do you need to get started including your equipment your furniture any initial rent payment basically include anything that's needed for your initial investment and how much it is I would recommend putting a cushion on it as well a little bit more than you think you will need because you probably will need more than what you think then write down what you will expect to sell in the next five years show your financial projections for five years make sure you include your operational expenses such as salaries electricity all of the overhead that goes into making your restaurant run on a day to day basis and of course include your income statement so when do you plan on being profitable how soon do you plan on being profitable and when do you believe you can pay your investors back all right guys that is a simple restaurant business plan or restaurant or bakery if you're like cats you went so fast I need
