cost or up to 2 000 for each test fees connected with obtaining a license or certification or not reimbursable payment is issued after you submit proof of payment to va that's what i'm going to talk about today how to get to that form um and actually how to get it and how to get paid back because i did i'm doing the vet tech and i'm almost done with it shout out to me and um a lot of the veterans is what happened that's why you gotta read your contracts read whatever you sign because you don't want to be crazy or act crazy when when the doodle hits the fan you know what i mean so this is the way to do it now through the magic of google okay kiss keep it simple stupid like i said just put va reimbursement i think i spelled that wrong but google will um fix your stupidness or my stupidness excuse me and yours too if you're if you're dumb like me um it will fix your stupidness and make you look like you are actually an intelligent person just kidding you're on some what intelligent listen are we certain we know so just put v8 reimbursement for search i'm going to put a link in the description below for us so that you guys don't even have to do this you could just click on that you downloaded your computer and just keep it as a file save it in the file on your computer so every time you get a cert or something you can get paid back so now it'll take you to this page you see that test fees over there is kind of highlighted or whatever they call that and it says here how do i get this benefit for licensing and certification in my te in my case it was that if you're taking like a national test for something or whatever then you go for that but this is licensing and certification so if you're getting like a trucker's license and you're not using the the 911 or something then uh oh hold on let me show you my cup this is i think i showed it in my um uh national lampoons uh this is one of my favorite movies if you're old enough to know if you're old enough then you can be my friend if you know who that is then we're friends but anyway so for licensing and certification go down here and it's down it's va form 22-0803 boom there it is it's only two piece pieces of paper you cannot foxtrot this up okay you cannot fox trot this up pay attention all right so cause i fox tried it up the first time okay cause if you mess it up they're gonna they're gonna let you know that you fox trotted it up all right so it's uh part one identification information don't worry about this i didn't fill this out i'm gonna tell you why i wasn't being slick but i wasn't trying to shoot myself in the foot either so what happens is over here i was like man i don't know if they're taking this from the gi bill money or if this is another pot of money i think it's another part of money because i only have two months of gi bill left because i used it irresponsibly but so right here it says post 911 gi bill that's where you know it has all the all the different uh education benefits there whatever you use or whatever you are on but you don't don't pick anything i didn't pick anything last time i let them do it because i didn't want to be like pick it and they're like oh he wants us to take it from the gi bill i don't know if that's their mentality or if that's the route that they're gonna take and then try to defend themselves and i'm like yo where's my month you know what i mean and so but anyway name of applicant so you put your name here line one i mean self-explanatory line two va file number um va file number i really don't every time they ask for a va file number don't ask me what that is i just put my social i'll put my social here and here just i don't know that i mean that's my file number that's i've always known that to be my file number so and then over here uh telephone number of hours we could reach you um oh the help portal is ask a question let me see hold on let me go and fix this real quick because we need to get that's me right there that is not me let me log back into this and log in boom save that okay because we're gonna need to look at that all right so have you previously applied for education benefits if you have i think you know most of us have using vet tech most likely you have that you put yes what did you could you benefit have you applied for previously and i i put well i guess i guess i didn't realize this but i guess what what i thought would happen here would happen right here because anyway right here i i just put post 911 but i've also done uh voc rehab and in case you didn't know back a few i think until last year volk rehab was using your gi bill vote when you use voc rehab folk rehab was digging into that gi bill cookie pot so i'm thinking i was thinking you know was sweet luckily at the end of the of that cycle work because i went to go to go to back to school they're like nine homes you don't got no money i was like what are you talking about i didn't even use my 911. yeah you did you use vogue rehab then months later they sent me a letter saying hey we're gonna give you these months back so you still got you know two three months of gi bill left i was like oh thank god that's how i was able to use vet tech because you gotta have one day of gi bill benefits so at least one day so um and then of course you put what education benefits are you applying for you're not applying for any of this you're not applying for any of that leave that blank so name of the test in my case it was sec plus or security plus for it stuff and then that date and test results so put the date that you passed the actual date you passed and the test result don't put about to take it don't put failed and don't leave it blank because they're not going to do anything they're just going to throw it out they're gonna print it just to be able to hear that crumbling sound and throw it out so um put pass and then over here you're gonna put obviously the address of look for the address for example mine was issued by comptia comptia is the issuing body the issue the issuing authority who runs the test that's their test the official that's the comptia's test so you will i just googled comptia's main headquarters and i put that that that one over there so of course for testing uh you put whatever the cost is uh including mandatory fees um i just put the course of the test in the remarks you can put merry christmas happy halloween or whatever don't put that all right don't write me saying they wrote your bag they didn't give you money because you put happy hanukkah or something so over here uh signature of applicant obviously they signed this this you don't have to even give it because it's just telling you what region you belong to i thought i was eastern region i'm not i'm western region because they're the ones who handle florida and i think yeah florida and texas all the all the free states i'm not going to get into that here listen to the podcast for that so after you do that let's say okay you fill this out great it's all filled out you're going to come over here no not to my not to my email but you're going to come over here and um this is the way i did it you saw that address here on the bottom you could snail mail it if you're old school and that's and you feel better that way but um as we've learned uh this past year uh mailing stuff isn't really trustworthy so we go over here and this is the way i did i went to the gi bill what the jedibilt.customerhelp.va.gov put a link to that but you need to have an account with them so nobody really uses this one nobody really uses it um this is old this website i don't think it's new because i remember i made this uh what this account a long time but i never used it until now so this is for like their support team if you have questions so subject i put certification reimbursement message is um uh test taking fees or whatever you put test fees they'll know what to do with it i don't know okay if i spill that on um you put uh on the category for example if it's licenses licensing and certification um you'll put that licensing and certification and then of course my social was showing because it's already populated there that's dumb and you put your social one two three four five six seven blah blah blah right and then of course you when you attach the document don't just send that document and think that because you got a pretty face and a nice beard or something men and ladies that they're just gonna be like oh well let's pay him back it's a beautiful person he she they them no the way it works is you gotta upload that and then you gotta upload proof a receipt of the payment plus something saying that you passed whether it be the actual cert or transcript or something like i got i got it all i was like no you you won't give me the money that's not no i check spelling and everything right and then you hit continue and then it'll ask you to put it in whatever and that's what she said and then you go ahead and put it in you know what i mean that's what she said so uh let's see so that's the way you do that go ahead and do that get your money back for stuff you know get because i like we didn't that one guy he was just like what the hell i can't afford to be freaked out in the class i couldn't believe it like he freaked out when he found out we had to pay they were they were telling us the test fees and then he freaked out it was so it was it was i'm sorry it was funny i got a dark sense of humor okay it was it was hilarious it was funny maybe you know hopefully he's not going through anything i understand i'm not rich i was like oh but you know i dug deep and i was like and i put a plan action together i was like okay i'm gonna use my gi i'm gonna use my my housing payment to pay for these tests my first housing payment paid for two of them and then i'm gonna go ahead and try to get reimbursed and it worked well for they they got me for the first one they reimbursed me now i'm waiting for the second one so hopefully this one this one was very expensive almost a thousand dollars so uh hopefully i get that back but that's how you do it that's how you go
