hi it's Leila here so you know that growing collection of files on your computer what if you had to reorganize and rename 100 of those files it's not something you want to do manually well luckily there is a tool that saves you hours plus it's really easy to use some time ago I made a video on how to use power automate desktop to rename many files there we covered a simple but also a more complex renaming task Now power automate desktop can do a lot more than renaming and it can get quite tricky an alternative software you can use for simple file renaming is total Commander which is a shareware file manager for Windows the built-in Windows File Explorer is limited in its features this is where total Commander shines one of the features is a powerful multi-rename tool that lets you rename files with just a few clicks before we do our few clicks we need to download it so in case you don't have it you can download a 32-bit or a 64-bit version from a website called gisler.com which is named after the creator of total Commander now after you installed it open it and you'll come to this view you can use a fully functional version for a month just select the right button here and you'll see two file Windows side by side if you need to move files then you're going to need a second one but since we're just dealing with existing files we're going to stick to the left window now what you see here is a glimpse of your file explorer so here I can see this is my C drive you can change directories from here and you can navigate by just clicking on a folder if you need to go back you can click the back button to go up now here you see that I have a sales folder and then I have a subfolder inside that sales folder I want to rename some of these files but before I do that I want to show you another cool feature that I really like if I wanted to get the complete file path of let's say these files I'm just going to select them by holding down control and then from this menu here there is a feature called copy names with full path I'm going to select that then let's open up Excel and press Ctrl V and I have the complete path here if I wanted the complete path of everything I can press Ctrl a to select everything here and that includes the folder as well again if I go and copy these names go to excel paste them here I have everything in one place now what if you didn't want the folder but you wanted the path of the files inside that folder well there is a great great shortcut for that Ctrl B selects all the files...
