in this demo what i want to demonstrate is pdf signing capability with pdftron's webviewer now in front of me here i have a 1040 document that after i've completed it i want to authorize and sign it now signature can contain a couple of pieces so it could be a signature appearance where you can draw the signature or type it out or upload it and generally this is fine for most of jurisdictions however in other jurisdictions outside of north america or you know other states we actually have to combine it with something else now we can say hey this user been signing the document we know that it is in fact that person signing that document because they authenticate it into our system with their email and password that only presumably they know they're also access it from this ap address so that all that information can be combined in the signature in addition to e-signature what we can do is combine it with a digital certificate that either provided by the user or we have it as a signing authority saying this user in fact we know them we can combine it on the document after the document has been signed the hash gets calculated and the document kind of gets locked away after if the document released and comes back to you you can actually see if the document has been tampered with and can i check the hash of the document before and after and see if there was no modifications on it now with pdf tron's webviewer not only that you can apply digital signatures together with digital certificate but you can also verify them afterwards when the document comes back
