hello this is sarah emory with concentris and today i am bringing you a short and sweet tip for renaming records in netsuite so it's common that businesses have different terminology for record types like perhaps they call customers clients or customers accounts in some cases they may call sales orders simply orders or something like that and it's very easy actually to change the name of record types in netsuite so if you go to setup company there's this section here rename records and transactions if you don't see this you may need to be in an in administrator role and then once this loads you'll see up at the top it loads the names for things like customers vendors entity records as well as some of the classifications like departments or location and then down toward the bottom it has all of your transaction records and not only can you rename the transaction record itself but you can also adjust its abbreviation here for your auto-generated numbers so let's say i wanted to change location to warehouse once i make that change if i then go and look at the setup section i will notice that instead of location it now says warehouses so um that is a super handy super easy way to adjust the naming convention of your records generally it does trickle outward so you will see in most menus and uh in interrelated records you will see that change reflected though there are some rare cases where i've seen records not update as expected um they're just system limitations around naming conventions but uh generally you will see this across most of the menus and navigation options in netsuite so hopefully you found that helpful i know it's one that a lot of customers that i work with take advantage of and i hope you can as well thank you so much for watching take care you
