so i've had the u.s bank cash plus card for about seven months now and if you follow my channel you know i'm a big cashback pro user so this card adds to my arsenal of existing five percent cash back cards so after owning this card for over half a year i'm ready to let you know my thoughts on this card starting out with the pros it is a no annual fee card which means if you don't carry a balance you're not going to be hit with extra fees the signup bonus was also easy to get and quickly posted once i hit that spending requirement it earns five percent back on two quarterly categories that you can actually choose up to a max cap of two thousand dollars per quarter so this is really great to supplement the big players like the five percent back cash back kings of chase freedom flex in the discover it it has very unique categories which i did a whole video on if you guys want to check out my analysis on those categories in addition it also has a two person category that you can choose per quarter as well this doesn't have a spending cap and of course you get one person back on everything else talking a little bit about the reward system i do go a little bit more in detail my other video so definitely check that one out but the gist of it is that just like discovering chase you do need to activate these quarterly categories but you do get to at least choose your five percent in two percent categories they have pretty unusual categories as i mentioned in my other video so you are able to tailor it based on your spending i think there are a couple categories that you can definitely keep as a staple at all times for me it was home utilities and electronics which was a very interesting two categories i was able to maximize they also recently announced a new five person category that you don't really have to activate which is for prepaid hotel airline or rental car purchases specifically at their travel awards center so something similar to like chase's ultimate travel portal but i haven't had a chance to really look through this but at least it's another option you have for cash back they also have these like special offers that you can activate like in the app kind of similar to what chase and amex are doing but as of now the selection is pretty sparse and i haven't really seen any useful ones out there that i personally will want to use it's not as accessible as the offers that are available on chase and amex for example once you accumulate at least 25 dollars in cash back you can redeem them either to a u.s bank bank account use a statement credit or a rewards card which is...
