[Music] hi I'm Linda redhead chairperson for special projects and I'm here to speak to you a little bit about how to renew your certification so let's get right to it here we are at n cap org and we're on the homepage I'm gonna scroll down until we get to this green box and I'm going to click on to this link certification renewal and it's gonna bring us to this page it's going to speak a little bit more about how to renew our certification and here it talks about how you should be receiving an email with regards to renewing your certification and renewal notifications are sent monthly starting four months prior to your expiration day and you can renew at any time during these four months though your renewal date always stays the same if you renew after your expiration date you'll be charged a $55 and eight fee so let's look at what this email looks like I just received mine and here it is it says dear Linda pen cap is sending me this renewal notification telling me when it's going to expire and there is a link right here that says click here to renew today I'm gonna click onto that see where it takes me it's gonna take me to my renewal application so I'm gonna scroll down says here that my membership option is one period and that would be two years for only $90 here's my name and I'm gonna make sure that all my information is correct my address my employment my position my my employer type the agency I work in and then I acknowledge that my name will be placed on the endcap registry so I initial that and so here is a email that I wanted to show you I had them send me a notice saying that my certification would expire or has already expired just for demonstration purposes and attached here is an invoice telling me how much I owe and there are two links here within the body of the email that you need to pay attention to one is click here to renew today so let's do that and it brings us to the certification renewal application and if you need to update your password or reset it you can click on to this link and the body of your email and here you'll be able to put your email address in and a link to reset your password will be sent to your email address and when you go to your email address you will get that link and then you'll be able to reset your password I wanted to direct your attention to this section it's about specializations by clicking the specialization I acknowledge I have additional ten seee clock hours related to each specialization if you don't have any specializations they need to make sure that these boxes are not checked off and that the only box that you can check off would be the first option here that says I do not hold a specialization if you do have a specialization such as myself I would make sure that these other boxes are not checked off and that the only one that I would check off for myself would be education now let's say I want to add another specialization and I have the clock hours to go with that specialization Y will scroll down to the second section which says add and we have down here person-centered home care education memory care adult day and assisted living and let's say I want to add home care and I check that off then I can move forward but for now if you do not want to add a specialization make sure that these boxes in the second part of this section are not checked and only make sure that the specializations that you do have are checked before you move forward and in here it talks about the audit process individuals renewing their endcap certifications are no longer required to submit all of their continuing education o'clock hours they're required to retain their certificates their proof of attendance for four years following the renewal of their certification and each certificate must show the date and title of the program and the number of clock hours and have a certifying signature then it says here our audit process randomly selects renewal applications for seee requirements and if you're selected you have seven business days to submit the seee documents to endcap and these documents are then scanned and emailed to endcap so what you're going to do is affirm that you've completed the required clock hours of continuing education and you're going to print your full name indicating that everything you've stated in this renewal application is true so I put my full name in there now I'm gonna click this link which says next and then it's going to tell me how much I need to pay I'm gonna make sure that all my information is correct here and this is the total that I will need to pay for my certification plus my education specialization it adds up to one hundred and five dollars and then I'll need to put my credit card payment here and then once I put in the credit card information I will then click Submit and then I'll receive this confirmation saying thank you your form has been submitted successfully and caps certification ensures the skills to deliver the highest quality person-centered care however it does not license confer a right or privilege or otherwise define the qualifications of anyone in the health care field payment of your application fee does not guarantee that certification will be granted and it's used to cover the administrative costs to process and review your application and you'll not be able to access your online profile until the process is completed please allow two to four weeks for your certification renewal to be reviewed processed and approved then you click this link to finish and we're done and if you would like to know your options for continuing education come to the homepage of the website and look at the tabs up on top home about US certification education and if you scroll down at the bottom of this menu you'll see approved seee educator lists now click onto that now here you'll have access to a list of all the approved seee educators you'll see their information the name of their organization the approved educator the type of course that they're offering and their websites and you'll be able to browse through this and figure out what your CEO pians are in order to maintain your certification and you need to remember that you're not required to upload any of your C e clock hours unless you're being audited and if you are being audited you would get an email that will actually tell you this and one thing to consider when you're looking for continuing education clock hours is the fact that you can make a small investment and become a member of nap for only $75 you'll have access to two webinars every month for the yearly membership which will add up to about 20 for continuing education o'clock hours plus you'll have access to their a library which has over a hundred CES at your fingertips so please consider that as an option a low-cost option to make an investment in your continuing education o'clock hours so
