here today to hear about is my name changed update now I'm not completely done with my whole name change process I'm just documenting as I go along but because I'm always a person that's a pioneer doing things amongst the people I'm around I'm always a pioneer so I'm always going through trial and error and I'm not getting the information that I need to get before I do it I went through a lot change my name it'll lead you to a website and then you know you'll click on start button at some page and it'll lead you to the website I'm telling you about well you can skip around all that by going to law Hill interactive down org once you get there you want to go down and you want to click on this green button I believe it says start and from there and long as you got the name that you want to change your name to your slave name to long as you got that name then it's only gonna take you about five minutes it's gonna cook you up with everything that you need the index number application which down in New York City is $65 but if you are in the state meaning outside of New York City is gonna cost you a little bit more my most y'all probably need from New York City so it's probably only gonna cost y'all about fifty sixty five dollars to get the index number application done you're gonna need that you're gonna need to request for judicial intervention the potential petition for name change and like I said when you go to their website I told you all about it's gonna have all that on there so you can get all of that done within five minutes now of course you gotta go with your money order so you got a um there's gonna let you know when you print out when you print out everything's gonna let you know it's gonna let you know how much your index number application is mine was $65 or $210 it's New York it's gonna um also on let you know about the request for a judicial intervention and the petition for name change like I said but the whole little five-minute process is gonna fill out all those forms for you all you have to do is make sure you got your birth certificate and a certified a copy of your birth certificate okay and the money order would envelope that's all you're gonna need when you go down to that County Clerk's office the papers that were filled out that you print out your money order and envelope to put everything in and you're gonna need your birth certificate now you can bring other forms of identification if you want if you feel a little bit leery but that's really all you need you go down there oh one more step it's going to tell you on on the page that you print out you gotta get it notarized so all the papers that you print out you gotta get it notarized by a notary you can go to UPS hey you can even go to the county clerk's office in there notarize it for you I just found that out today I would've been had this done a little bit longer ago if I would have known that I could just go to the same place you're bringing the papers you can get notarized take me out a lot of time man you gotta make sure and that's example don't understand man but anyway once that's done it's gonna take you about from what I'm told two to four weeks to get that on approve and they're gonna let you know and you're gonna go and you're gonna have your court date and he's gonna learn you have your court date and therefore max won't get approve then you got to go back to that same office that you submitted your papers to write this is like step number three the first step was taking your papers and second step is standing before the judge third step is going back to the office and just getting everything done for your social security number your passport number you know a new birth certificate you know that's a for when I'm hearing it's a pretty simple process but I'll let y'all know how simple it is once I go through their last stage so man um like I said it's a good feeling man it's a good friend man I've been thinking about this for a long time it took me a while to come up with my name I'm not gonna tell y'all yet but I will tell you this one of my name's is old Lake I can't get rid of that name but nothing that's what everybody know me ass but I'll tell you this I decided not to make them my first name I decided not to making my first name because it's sacred it's sacred and when I introduce myself to people for now I'm not gonna give them unless I'm out to discern a spirit before I give them that name and allow them to call me that because it's a it's a denoted a life it's a positive mantra and affirmation for day life when they say my name the name oleg Ola first and foremost means wealth that comes from the Yoruba and I added the I so it means I am wealth and as you all know my name is black okay so it means I am wealth I am black wealth and it all comes stems from the Ruba so when you say my name you saying I earn wealth so that's why it's a positive affirmation for the person is saying saying it you know I'm so thoughtful and considerate that I didn't made a name to where people when they say it it's helping them but my first name my first name now I'm not gonna take out what it is I'm gonna give you all the routes and everything of it my first name is a balance of masculine and feminine first part is mad feminine the second part is masculine but as a whole my first name is more masculine than Olay which I refer to as a more feminine name you know it sounds nice and suave right so I want to make sure I balanced everything got with that but my first name I chose to take on it's definitely in touch with the indigenous of Americans names and it also runs parallels with journeys I've been on throughout my life it has a warrior fighting spirit within it it deals with water and that's all I could say right now I can't say nothing else the last name not that's dealing with a West African tribe Empire um and I can't tell no more I can't say on the moon but I decided to get my done legally because first off I'm still in the system if you're not in the system whatsoever you know if you're on the system whatsoever whatever then I can understand why you would think that what I'm doing is foolish are you going down there you're giving them your money and everything but look you know a porn you know I'm already me you know being married having children you know if you still want being a system man when you get married whoever it is is why if you Amanda Connor tickle taking your last name if you have children then it's going to be the child last name so why keep on passing down a slave name watch even if it's not a slave name why keep on passing down the name they don't mean nothing why keep on passing down don't fit you most of us do got slave name so there we happy with that so outside of that man you know um not only that I changed my name but I made sure that I kept it original I made the name only up now even though it's a few other people with the name old a and everything fine but from the very beginning from the very basis it was my pure intention to make it for my own name I didn't just and no disrespect to anybody out there who just pick a name from this tradition this tribe and everything but I decided to make my first name I made up Olay and the only name I didn't make up what's my last name that I chose because I want you don't want to be too individualistic you want to have a balance of being individualistic and communal istic community orientated so I decided to have my last name linked with a large population of the African diasporic so as I already mentioned I got the indigenous of America and I have the Yoruba and I got my other last name so it's like okay this is all up in there and um really it's a uh it's a check you know when people saying your name it's a chant it's energy and my name in particular is an affirmation Olay like people Olay you said I am well my test is helping you and like I said man has always been a type of person where like I'd be putting people before myself that's why I chose to put their name in the middle cuz if if you ain't got nothing to give back in return and you can't be calling me Olay Kane Kane no in just anybody called me Oleg no more like I've really decided that you can't just call me only if I don't know your ass if I don't approve of you probably give you this loop it's sacred so um everybody's gonna have their own ideals and reasons of why they're gonna be changing their name just make sure that it has a lot of meaning just make sure that you know it's something that you love something that you like and for the men out there you know if you are already in the system and you're not really really really gonna be leaving and then whatever then you know chances are you might get married you won't have children and they're gonna have to take on you know the last name you already have so why not get a real name and start a new lineage of non-slave
