Save being image

hello everybody welcome back to my channel i'm bella and today i'm gonna be showing you guys how i edit my instagram pictures i've gotten many requests to do this video in the past i just never really felt like it was something interesting enough to film but i just keep getting requests so i figured might as well do it it's what the people want so yeah if you guys are interested in learning how i edit my instagram pictures then please keep on watching quickly before i get started i want to go ahead and say thank you to good habit for sponsoring today's video and good habit is the first skincare line dedicated to protecting your skin from uv rays and from blue light and blue light is emitted basically from any screen so computers tvs cell phones anything you could pretty much think of things that we are exposed to pretty much throughout the whole entire day of every day so they dedicated their brand to helping improve people's skin under these harsh conditions and this collection is meant to hydrate your skin and hydrated skin is healthy skin when your skin is hydrated it's fighting oil and acne it's slowing the aging process it overall makes your skin just look healthier and smooth and more glowy and you'll see that once you start really getting into a good routine that leaves your skin moisturized and with the nutrients that it needs you're skin will be looking a lot better than it did before and it's crazy what a good moisturizing routine can do specifically today i use the rescue me texture magic exfoliating toner before my makeup just to give my skin a good little cleanse before i put my base down and it really made my makeup look nice and fresh and clean so if you guys are interested in checking out good habit then go ahead and check the link in my description box i'll also have my coupon code in the description box for you guys as well if you're interested so let's get started i'm also going to be showing you guys today in this video how i take my selfies and i did my makeup for you guys got all cute or whatever and i'm just gonna go ahead and show you guys two pictures i always use my iphone 11. so first step into taking your pictures is to make sure that your cameras are clean so whether you're using the back camera and someone's taking pictures for you or using your tripod or if you're using the front camera you want to make sure both those are wiped down and make sure you have a good light source whether that be a window your ring light sunlight whatever it is just get a good light source it could even be like a spotlight of some sort if you are into that type of thing just fine lighting that makes you feel confident and find your angle right now i have my ring light in front of me so i'm just gonna use that it's not super bright right now it's kind of like half dim i'm gonna do what i can with this today and show you guys how i would edit it there's like a pretty standard um editing process that happens when i edit my photos i just like my feed to match and have all the colors kind of be i don't know of the same palette i use just the regular camera app on my phone and in my settings i have my camera settings let me then go to the camera there is an option to mess with the composition of your pictures it says grid and mirror front camera view outside the frame so i have all of that stuff on just to help me kind of like guide my pictures mirror front camera means um your pictures won't be flipped when you take it alright so i'm gonna screw record this process i just i don't know i find whichever angle i feel nicest in i usually like my right side a lot so i'll just kind of and for poses i just try to put my hands like resting somewhere maybe like touching my hair i just kind of take one until i find one that i like and the more in front of your face that the light source is um the smoother your face will look my face does not look like this all the time but due to all these lights being directly in front of me it just it just kind of hides all my imperfections especially with this much makeup on so another big thing for me when i take my pictures is to make sure that the background is clean i don't like to have cluttered backgrounds just because it's really distracting and it makes the photo look kind of dirty in my opinion not as aesthetically pleasing i guess and usually i go for like a plain wall background or right now i have like my clothing rack and it's clean back there so and if there is ever a time that i want to take pictures with the back camera like i am right now i'll just make sure i have like a mirror or some type of reflective surface on the other side of my camera that way i can see what my camera sees and the back camera just serves a little bit better quality a little bit better lighting i'm gonna go ahead and show you guys how i do that i just kind of like find my angle and ah and there's that picture that i just took all right so now that i have my photo taken i don't really have um any super good photos taken right now but i'm gonna go ahead and choose this one right here and i'll just show you guys what i'm doing with my screen from here i like to edit directly from the photos app so i click the edit button and i mess with the exposure the brilliance the highlights i don't really mess with the shadows unless i really need to um like if the shadows are really dark in the picture the exposure is just like the overall darkness of the photo so you can see if i put the exposure i'll be down and start if i put it all the way up my picture will be too bright so i just leave the words out sometimes i mess with it and put a little bit darker just to kind of have you know a certain vibe sometimes i do it sometimes i don't so i'm gonna make it a little bit brighter today i have it pushed up it's not a big difference you can see that's the before and this is the after and then i'll just go over to brilliance the brilliant it just brightens like shadows and just everything in general so you can see if i put the brilliance up everything just gets kind of light and then if i put it down everything gets kind of dark the brilliance i just put it up a little bit that way everything seems a little bit more light and vibrant so i just messed with it until i feel like it looks like how it's supposed to look the highlights i put them down a little bit uh it brings the tones as you can see it makes me really orange and it makes the lights really bright it kind of just ups the saturation of the highlights which are the lighter colors of the photo so like my face the jacket and kind of the pink hues from the lights so i'll just put it down a little bit and like right there and then from here sometimes again it depends on the picture almost with the contrast the brightness i don't really mess with i don't touch the black point or anything else really on here so once i'm done with it in my photos lab i'll send it over to my vsco and vsco is one of the apps that i use to edit all my pictures you can say visco i just say vsco so the most recent picture i did was right here so i'm going to pick that out and edit it i used to add a lot of filters to my pictures and now i don't i add the filter last just to make sure it's just subtle and so the first thing i do is up the saturation a little bit if it needs it you can see it goes really high really low and i just like to put it a little bit higher that way my picture looks a tiny bit more vibrant doesn't look as gray i feel like sometimes looking they can look a little bit gray i bring that down just a little bit and then again depending on the photo and you know the light quality i'll make the picture more pink just because i like my pictures have more of a pink tone or if it's super yellow i'll use this blue up here and it'll kind of neutralize the yellow but this one i just make it a tiny bit you can see 0.7 and there's not really specific numbers that i follow every single time it's just kind of like when you're cooking you put like a pinch of salt or a pinch of pepper like but you put however much you think it needs so that's that's pretty much it i just messed with the same things in every photo i just it's a little bit different every time the next thing i do is i add a grain to every single one of my pictures i feel like it just looks a little bit weird if i don't i've been doing the grain since 2017 so it's just something i like to do i don't put it like all the way up like this i put the grain probably less than like three so you can see it it's still there on my skin and just kind of add some texture to the photo so you can see the before and after of everything and the photo just looks a little bit more vibrant that's kind of all it is and so this still has no filter on it i've just been messing with the colors and the highlights and shadows and you know exposure and all of that so then i'm gonna go over to the filter and i pay for the premium version of this gocam vs co cam but you don't have to um the filter that i use is unfortunately part of the premium version c8 it's a little bit like a warm brown tone um you don't really need to do this it's just like a little extra thing that i do it doesn't make that big of a difference i feel like it just kind of adds that neutral brown tone to all of my photos that every photo in my feed has yeah that's that photo edited that's how i would post that but i'll just save it from there i'm not going to lie i do face tune my photos this particular photo i didn't need to face soon just because it came out good with the lighting and stuff but a lot of the pictures i take i have to face tune like certain things out of the background like cracks out of the floor trash off the floor but for a lot of my photos i do edit out like blemishes or if i have like little smile lines i'll smooth those down or if i have texture i do smooth that out just the reality of how i edit my photos another app i use to kind of edit out like blemishes or lines and stuff is retouch and retouch you have to pay for facetune you do have to pay for but i think they're worth it i use them enough where you know the two dollars was worth it for me so those are the apps i use another app i use is prequel prequel prequel i use it for kind of just like the different effects they have like a holo effect or some of the like film effects um they have a few on there i'll go ahead and show you guys but i asked you guys to send me examples of photos you wanted to see edited and this one was one right here that i got a lot and i uploaded this picture recently so here's the photo um after i put my edits on it here is the photo before so you see when i tap it it's just like a lot more gray and less vibrant you see cropped original and then afterwards it's a little bit more vibrant a little bit more true to tone so for this one i did exposure up five and then for the brilliance i left it alone for highlights i put it down 39 just to bring back the color and like the buildings and the sky and my face and then i believe for that one that was all i did in the photos app and then i took it to vsco so for this one i'm pretty sure i just put like the saturation up a little bit like that i probably would have put the white balance up about that much through some grain on that for like that much and then probably put the c8 filter on it i'm saying probably because my edits didn't save i don't know why they didn't i just put like a tiny bit i feel like i put more saturation on this picture so there you go you can see it's a lot more vibrant and even the before on this is really really stupid looking um again you can mess with the highlights on vsco it kind of makes it look dirty if you put it too low so i just put those like about right there and there you go that's how i edited that one alright so for this photo right here which i did like a photo shoot with my car this day um this is the before and this is the after this picture is just like saved with the edits already because vsco saves the edits so for the exposure i did minus 0.5 i brought that exposure down just a little bit and then contrast i left alone for saturation i did up 1.1 so you can see if i take it down it's just kind of ugly i always up the saturation in my photos i don't always do it a lot but i always do it and then with the highlights i put them down 3.9 because you can't really see the sky if i don't oh and for this one i also adjusted the white balance that's why it's kind of pink so the main thing i do is bring down the highlights bring up the exposure a little bit depending on the picture bring it up or down and then throw some green on it and then what's cool about vsco is you can actually copy and paste edit so when i have like a photo shoot and i like like a bunch of pictures from the photo shoot and i don't want to have to you know do the individual edits on each photo then i'll just go ahead and you can copy the edits and i can go ahead and paste them like let's say onto this one this one doesn't have any type of filter on it so you can see it's pretty much the same thing and it just copies the edits onto your picture you may have to adjust it a little bit just to match that picture of like the lighting's a little bit different or the colors are a little bit different but that's the way that i edit all my pictures and let's say i wanted to add something cool looking onto my photo like sometimes i'll add i don't know if you guys have seen the holo photos onto my instagram this is the app prequel by the way so i'm gonna go to effects and there's a whole bunch of different ones they have disco we have diamond which is just like some sparkles as well there's so many different options but one that i like to use is it's on here somewhere it's called prism and i use this one a lot but you can adjust it and i usually turn it down a little bit and i always take off the filter just because i don't like how they look with the filters that i put on there so i take those off and yeah so you can just add those there's a bunch of cool different ones so like this fish eye doesn't fit this picture but you can do a lot of cool stuff on prequel and i don't pay for prequel just because it's kind of expensive so yeah if you guys are wondering how i edited any of the other pictures on my instagram just follow all of the steps that i showed you guys on the picture that i took today and that's pretty much it there's not a lot that goes into editing my pictures i like to keep them simple and clean looking again like i said cohesive with my feed which is like a neutral brown theme so yeah i hope you guys found this video helpful and i hope you enjoyed watching if you guys haven't checked out my most recent youtube video make sure you go do that and if you want to subscribe i mean you can i love you guys so much and thank you again for watching don't forget to check out some links in the description box and i will see you guys in my next video bye everyone [Music]
