so in this video i'm going to show you how to create a conversion focused affiliate review article and no this is not a video about how to write a review article but more about the page elements that will help you drive affiliate link clicks what i'm talking about is a sticky sidebar that gives your audience an overview of the benefits of the flip product and of course a button that links to your affiliate product so that when your site visitor makes a decision to buy they do not have to find your affiliate link because it's right there in front of them and if on mobile where the sticky sidebar will not stick anymore you can have a sticky hater with a button that links to your affiliate product and this sticky header is different from your default team header and most importantly before we begin you need to install the bloxy wordpress theme as well as the bloxy pro plugin if you don't have those installed yet you can check out the links in the description the functions are just shared on a sticky sidebar and header are conditional which means you can control where to display them on your website and currently only the bloxy pro team have these so if you want to follow along this tutorial and put those elements on your review page then install those plugins i've mentioned in the description anyway if you want to know how to write an effective affiliate review plugins first [Music] so this is the wordpress dashboard of a new website i've just installed and currently it looks like this so now let me walk you through setting up everything from scratch this is for you in case you're a wordpress beginner and it's relatively quick and easy but if you are an avid wordpress user feel free to use the chapters or timestamp to skip ahead so the first thing we want to do is to install the teams so we will go to appearance and teams currently the 2021 theme is installed so we want to add new and then on the right search bar you want to search for bloxy then you can see it right here you want to click on install and activate so the blockchain team is installed now we can delete the rest of the teams because they are unnecessary this is good for housekeeping just in case the site gets cluttered up in the future so here we go we only have one team and we have removed unnecessary teams next we need to install the bloxy pro plugin so what we want to do is to go to a new browser and type this in so you need to make a purchase of this boxy pro membership before you can get access to insights but let me show you behind the scenes how it looks like in the membership area so this is the membership area to download the bloxy pro plugin you need to click on downloads and on the right you want to download this bloxy companion plugin click on that and once this plugin is downloaded to your computer you want to head over back to your wordpress dashboard under plugins you want to click on add new and then you want to click on upload plugin then search for the file you've just downloaded and click on install and activate plugin so to use this you need the license key need to go back to your block c pro account and click on licenses you want to copy this license key and then head over back to your wordpress dashboard and paste this license key here and activate and once it's activated you'll see a page like this the next thing we want to do is to activate one of the pro features so we need to click on extensions pro extensions scroll down we need this multiple sidebars so that we can create a sticky conditional sidebars so click on activate and we're done now let me show you how the website looks right now it looks like this let me quickly fast forward and create a review article so that i can show you how to create those elements so let's go so there we have it i've created this very simple review let me add some default sidebars here first so you can either click on a customize here or you can go back to your wordpress dashboard click on appearance and customize i'll select this so to add a sidebars we need to go to single post under post types click on that by default there are no sidebars so we need to click on this right sidebar and you will see the sidebar here so click on publish and then let's go back to the wordpress dashboard now let's take a look at how the review page looks now so it looks like that now we need to create a sticky sidebar here so let's go back to the wordpress dashboard under appearance click on widgets and since we've installed the pro extension we'll see this section here where it says create sidebar widget area so to create a sidebar let's give this sidebar a name and then on the right click on create sidebar and we'll see it appear here so what we want to do next is to click and drag this custom html over and don't worry you don't need to understand a single line of html code i'm going to show you how you're going to do it now what you want to do is to open up a new post add new open up in a new tab don't worry about the title we'll put in something like top recommended knife and we will bold this next we want to give some focus on the product so we need to include the product name and we want to put this as a heading next we want to put in some benefits so something like super sharp lightweight easy carry or something like that just to display the benefit of the product on the site and we want to put this as a list next we want to add a button double enter here and then click on this plus sign select buttons and we'll put in and then if you want to add your affiliate link you can do it here and if you want to make it open in a new tab you can just flip this switch now how do we bring this over to the widgets we need the html code so i'm gonna show you how to do it click on each of this line select more options and then edit as html you do it for the rest of the blocks so these are the html codes you need to copy over to the widget so let's do it so every time you paste something you want to hit enter to go to the next line so for example i've copied this whenever i want to paste something i will hit enter to go to the next line and just paste it do the same thing for this and let's save this so next you want to click on this gear for settings you want to add display condition we don't want this sidebar to appear on the entire website so you need to select post id and then select post this is the post we've just created and save settings so this is done let's go back to the review and refresh and you will see it here but here's the problem it's not picking up the list so we probably have to add it manually so let's go back to the widget and under this ul and li this is the list html code what we want to do is to beside the super sharp for example we want to put one and then beside the light weight we want to put two and then beside the easy carry we want to put three and let's save this let's go back here refresh and we are done but it is not sticking to the side so what we need to do is to go back to the customizer so we click on customize and on the sidebar at the bottom you will see this sticky sidebar you want to flip the switch and then publish let's close this and refresh as i scroll it's sticking there so we are basically done with the sticky sidebar you can create a new widget whenever there is a new review article so that's that next we want to focus on creating a sticky menu specifically for this review article because since this sticky sidebar will not stick on mobile but before that let me quickly fast forward and create a simple menu for the entire website so let's go so there we have it we have a simple menu here that will appear on every page of your website now we need to create a conditional header specifically for this review article so we go to customize under header we need to select this headers here and create new give the header a name then create new header and then what we want to do next is to select this header and go back to the elements make sure this is selected so go back to elements let's drag a button over beside the menu we want to edit this button so let's click here change the label to this you can place your affiliate link here and if you wanted to open a new tab you can just flip this switch if you want to edit the design of the button you can just click on design and play with the selections here but i won't matter with it now so let's go back select header again click on this header we want to add and edit conditions click on add display condition change it to post id just like how we do it for the widget and select post and save conditions and then you want to put this sticky functionality and publish and let's check it out if we refresh this page you can see that the global header is here and then if you click on this quiet carry waypoint review you'll see that there will be a button right here so this is a separate header different from your default header for your website so if i scroll down you can see that both of them are sticking together and that's not what we want on the desktop we only want this sidebar widget to stick and on the mobile we want this menu to stick so what we're gonna do is to customize this again select the header haters select the header you wanna edit and then over here you want to disable the desktop sticky effect and publish and let's check it out so let's scroll now you only see this sidebar widget sticking but now here's the problem as we scroll through you can see that the menu is sticking but we have this hamburger trigger here we want the button here on mobile so what we need to do is to head back to the customizer click on header and we need to select this mobile header at the bottom and as we can see here there is this hamburger trigger which is over here what we want to do is to click and drag this button right beside the trigger and maybe you want to change this button label to just buy now to make it look nicer and let's change the visibility to only mobile as well let's publish this and let's check this out it's quite neat right and if we expand this you
