welcome to auction soft I'm going to do a quick video on adding a customer to your customer table database but this particular customer you want to have a certain consignor number and that is because maybe you're transitioning from another software to auction solved and you need to save consignor numbers or make make sure all right so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to add the customer so you can go to your customer tab and we'll click add new customer and the system will force you to follow the wizard and it wants a phone number first so I'm just going to pick a random number here see if I've got any test data in there and you it's going to do a quick check to make sure that there isn't any matching phone numbers in the system no results were found so it allows you to continue here so the first name here we're going to say is you know John and doe I don't think i have a john doe in there yet and the system automatically gives you the phone number again so it enters it for you here you can change this number if you want to be a landline we really want you to put a cell phone number over here and then the email address is optional company name everything is optional except for down here we want an address from the customer so 123 for Mary Elaine and the zip code we're going to choose is 4 6 226 and that will automatically populate the city-state of course we're in America and these are optional driver's license state driver's license number whether the person is tax exempt for a buyer buyers number to be added later if they come to your sale as a buyer as well as a consigner so down here at the bottom you've gotta submit and submit is basically just adding this customer to your customer records or if you want to add them and give them a consignor number at the same time you can do that and if you do that it just finds the next available consignor number and it will put them in the or consignor database as that number however we're going to try to give an example here where we have a certain consignor number that we want person to have so we're first going to just put them into the customer database by adding them and remember it was John Doe so I'm going to do a real quick search for dope there he is real quick now we are going to view his profile comes up here and this all this information here in this area is strictly for this customer but at your company since auction soft customers are global and they are kind of shared across the auctions off community some information is specific to you and what we're going to do here is we're going to set a friends and family rate of ten percent commission and we're going to give that consignor number a basically a permanent number now this assumes that the consignor is going to be back and consigned to your sale several times but because we want them to have a certain number we're going to give them a certain number and I don't know I'm just picking a number 98 here and save that and save the rate that you gave them and and then basically that's it once those two things are saved you should be able to go back to your consignor or any sale in the future and once you put that particular consignor into the database for that event then they will get this number here thanks for watching
