hi i'm kim and welcome to another top tip video today we're going to talk about fuji's custom profiles and how to save them in camera one of the really nice things about shooting with a fuji camera is the jpeg output the colors are really wonderful straight out of camera and you can choose to fine-tune those to your liking even more so and then you can go ahead and save up to seven of those tuned presets as custom settings within the camera so why would you want to do that well you can tailor the film looks to be a little bit more personal towards you you might like more blown out highlights or maybe more shadow or less shadow you might like grain or no grain in your images and you can do that within the custom settings and then save it as a preset which is quickly accessible from the cue menu or from within the iq menu in the camera so i'm going to show you how to do that today very simply so i think the easiest way of setting these up is to already have them set within the queue menu before you save them so if i drop into my quick menu here i have it laid out like this so i can quickly change things and i'm just going to move that from two to zero and i'm going to move this down to let's say minus two there i'll bring the color up to three and bring the sharpness up to four just so we can see the changes there and i can go ahead and maybe change the profile to uh across green so we can really see the settings i've changed there now um and as usual i just start to shoot so supposing i like the look the way that's producing for some reason and i want to save it as a preset so here i can say well this has a preset by going into my menu i can then scroll down till i get to edit save custom settings and go pick a blank setting so custom five here for me and then just click on save current settings and what that does is that takes what i'm currently shooting and puts it in a preset for me and that's saved as that now and i might just scroll down and edit the custom name into say kf i know seven just because that's there in handy let's go up and hit set on that and then hit back and then hit ok to save and that is saved so now when i go into my cue menu i can go five when there's kf7 all saved and you can see there's changes i made from k4 to kf5 the other way of doing it is following the simple path of edit save custom settings and going in and selecting one you want to change or set up from new and then dial in your settings as you like from here it's pretty straightforward to do you can then also edit the custom name so i'll just bring that forward a little bit and put pp in there for pixel peepers no doubt and the important thing to do here is to hit the back button because if i go to save current settings it will reset that into whatever's already in the camera to shoot because you've got to remember i haven't saved these settings yet so in order to save them what i have to do is hit the display back button and that brings me into the save customs setting window and then click up click ok and i'm done i'm set so here we go in there and we can see i go in and now i'm plus three minus two so that's a very simple way of dealing with that this is a great way of really tailoring those film looks to be yours to be your own personal output different than everyone else's but if you do want to have an experiment with them a photographer named of david turegno has put together a great resource from everybody's online contribution into one google document and i'm going to place that below in the description click on that link and have a good read through what he's done he's got great instructions and it's a really good way of experimenting with the jpeg output from your fuji camera something you should definitely try at least once anyway that's it for today so let me know how you get on in the comments and please remember to like and subscribe to the channel i appreciate every comment i get and i do try and reply as much as i can okay thanks bye you
