Save digisign required

[Music] hello and welcome to zephyr training I'm your host Jeff and I'm joined today by Mike Valles he's the last face you'll see before your computers fix Mike thanks for coming thanks for having me Jeff hello everybody yeah and I've got Erika and the live chat up in the marine office waiting for some other folks to come in so Erika you're kind of the stars show right now if you have any questions drop them in the chat on the right side and we've got one watching on YouTube as well thank you for tuning in go ahead and pop that any questions you might have this is gonna be a really quick session today so I think shouldn't be too much to ask but so you can just pop that in as we go along and what we're talking about today is how to save text messages to your sky slope transaction and per BRE regulations this is now required for all of all agents to have a complete and accurate communication log so pretty much anyone that is doing a deal has to know this so we're going to show you how to do it both well Michael show you how to do it on iPhone I'll show you how to do it on Android and it's a pretty similar process on on both platforms so pretty easy to pick up I'm going to start by sharing my screen and gonna quickly jump to sky slope I've already logged in and pulled up this transaction for one two three Main Street in San Francisco and just like every other transaction in sky slope it automatically receives this email address for submitting documents and for this one because it's I chose this really original name here of 1 2 3 Main Street the email is Main Street 1 2 3 3 8 1 I think that means there 381 other Main streets in the system so we kind of a bit of a longer email than usual but that's the email at sky slope comm so the method here just to kind of set the table is we're going to capture a screenshot of the text conversation on your device and then email it directly to this email address and then it shows up right here in a documents list along with other documents that you have for that file so for now I'm going to jump off of my screen and Mike's gonna take over on the iPhone okay something of my screen started alright do you see me yes we can we're looking at the screen recording cool so step one is go to the text message that you're trying to record I have this woman Jeff that we started I'm gonna scroll to the top to make sure everything is good looks like I can fit everything in this text in one screenshot so on the iPhone you take a screenshot by holding the home button at the bottom or pressing and the pressing the power button on the side at the same time you'll know that the screenshot worked because the screen will flash like it dis just did and you'll see a little picture on the bottom left now I'm going to go to Gmail and using the email that you just gave Main Street one two three three one I'm going to attach the photo that I just took the attach button on the top right is gonna be the paperclip once you click on that it's going to show your camera roll on iPhone it goes to your most recent photo so that's why I'm selecting this one but you can say shows recent attachments and then if your drive is synced it does that as well but for now we're just gonna do the text message so my message is now on the email I'm just go ahead and send that and then once it's sent we can go to the sky slow page and see the update yeah and I'm gonna do the same thing here on my Android device now and we'll give those some time to show up in the actual sky slow transaction so let me take over here on my phone most Android devices work pretty similar with a screen shot because everyone copies Apple eventually and so it's the home and sorry this the same sleep button as well as the volume button I'm gonna press and hold that actually let me bring up my conversation first so here it is my thread with Mike so I've opened the text message and I'm gonna do the home and volume buttons and similarly I get that kind of shutter effect you see the screenshot turn up you also get a notification of the top that says your screen shot was captured and actually right from that notification I can tap share and this will bring up a bunch of options and I'm going to choose Gmail and that will start my compose window and will pop in this address main street's let's see if I can get it right on the first time one two three three one eight three eight one three eight one almost almost thanks at sky slope comm yeah we'll just leave the screen shot subject line and send that off if you have more a longer conversation to capture naturally you would swipe up go to the next chat bubble and then take another screen shot and you can screen shots are too large in terms of file size so you could certainly get away with attaching you know a few of them per email and probably be best to do that kind of as you go so like just as messages related to the transaction come up this is your way to kind of document that send is this to the transaction and don't you know that way you don't have to think about it again alright so let's see here I'm gonna just quick check yes they're both there let me share my screen now in sky slope again and we'll take a look at those all right so now on the document list we have these files that just flew in here we'll look at Mike's message from iOS first so here's the screenshot stored in perpetuity for earthquakes yeah right there in the transaction and here's my screenshot for my pixel my Android device and look similar here and everything's just dropped right in and now you can you can just leave those files in the documents list and those will I'll just come and sit there with the file once you're ready to close and and we'll just stay in the communication log there alright so that pretty much wraps it up or today's a really quick one as promised Erika did you have any questions before we wrap up here want to make sure you have the opportunity to jump in and just in wrapping up here we'll say that we're gonna be taking a break next week won't have a session but we'll be back to Wednesdays from now actually getting dan Hayek back on and we're going to be doing a Facebook 101 session so we're gonna take a little bit extra time to plan that one out because I need some I need some Facebook review because I'm not nearly as versed at it as as Dan is but that's why we're going to bring him in and we've just been hearing about hearing some asks for just kind of general tips around how to use Facebook I think it's totally warranted and definitely up our alley so we will definitely do that yeah so as I mentioned that the issue with with long texts yeah it is definitely gonna be they're gonna be taking a good number of screenshots it also brings me to you know if you do a Google search for saving text conversations on an iPhone or on an Android there are other applications out there that that do offer this but really most of them are third-party applications that are working around Apple's security on the device so I'm opting not to recommend one of those just because we have no way to confirm whether they're legitimate and you know if something happened in the way of data loss or security breach we certainly couldn't have that either so on an on an iPhone that this question comes up pretty often and this still is the safest easiest way to do it and it works entirely within the confines of your phone and your email so that we know it's secure yeah that's said Eric is saying here is probably just said to send an email as opposed to a text and yes that would certainly be a lot easier we know that with folio you have the opportunity to automatically archive all your emails into a single PDF that you're going to upload to sky slope to get your communication log that way yet you also don't need to necessarily grab every single text exchange with the contact would be totally acceptable to just capture the items that are pertinent to the transaction and on the Android side of things I will quickly pull this screen up for those who have a strong stomach and maybe a little bit more experience with the Android platform this tool is called SMS backup and restore and basically allows you to select a single conversation that you can export to a text file I gave it a shot and it was a little bit more intrusive than I would have liked but it's highly rated in the Google Play Store so SMS backup and restore that might be one that you want to check out I like that the wine looks nice the white shirt yes that's great all right so with that I think we've identified the color of Mike's shirt it is definitely wine and we know how to send these text messages out the sky slope now so Mike thanks for coming back and helping us out today appreciate it it's my pleasure thanks for having me yeah absolutely Erica will take you thank you again for attending and we will see you next time take care everybody [Music] [Music]
