love for you to join along but now it's time for me to help you save some money with five tips to save money on your cell phone plan the first tip I'm going to share with you is to switch carriers and then switch again now this might seem a little bit daunting at first switching carriers it is kind of annoying but I promise it's more simple than you ever thought and it will save you a lot of money so the first reason you should switch carriers is because it's like I mentioned before you're probably overpaying like other name-brand products services like t-mobile AT&T Sprint and Verizon are more expensive than their generic counterparts it's just like prescription medication or cereal the generic versions are always just a little bit cheaper now MVNO Zoar smaller carriers offer the exact same plans and coverage but for cheaper prices now here's one example for you for an unlimited plan visible mobile runs on Verizon's Network and is owned by Verizon they have an unlimited everything overview on how to do it make sure your phone is paid off because if it's not paid off you won't be able to switch until you fully pay that off and that could cost you a couple hundred bucks if you want to do it right away and then the next step is to find a plan with a new carrier next do not cancel your service with your current provider your new carrier will do that for you you will get the plan and your carrier will reach out to your old one and pour all your information over and boom there it is you've just switched carriers and save yourself hundreds of dollars a year now I have one more note for you for switching carriers and that is to switch again it's still just once a year isn't it you would need to look for switching deals and you can save money by switching multiple times a year for instance mint mobile offers an unlimited talk and text plan that offers eight gigabytes of high-speed data for $20 a month for three months after three months the costs will go up to $35 a month but you don't want to pay that so what you'll do after three months is switch again to a new carrier say reach mobile who offers a $20 a month plan and you'll get three gigabytes of data and unlimited talk and text now if you add that all up that's nine months of service for under $200 and you're saving about two hundred dollars in the process just by switching now my next tip for saving money on your cell phone plan is to utilize a Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is literally everywhere and you can get it everywhere for free so what I know definitely not me has once sat in a McDonald's parking lot to download music again not me but it's an idea that I will give you and you can use pay yourself if you need to find free Wi-Fi next home internet we're all at home right now we utilize your home internet use Wi-Fi calling use Wi-Fi texting use texting apps this will allow you to tap into your home internet and get the most out of it and that could potentially allow you to drop your cellphone plan all together which if you're paying for the highest-priced verizon plan could save you up to about $100 a month now that is a one tip that I think you should really take to heart right now is utilizing your home Wi-Fi now we're on to tip number three I told you how to switch carriers to save money and how to utilize Wi-Fi to save money now I am telling you that you should probably switch your cell phone plan to save money and the reasons why are this since we're all stuck in our houses right now it is a great time to downgrade your plan to something with limited data and utilize your family plan your cost goes down $5 per line with each person you add up to five people so the plan right now is $40 a month just by yourself you bring on four of their friends you could be paying only your own bill each month and another cool thing with this is that there are Facebook groups dedicated to finding strangers to join your family plan so if you really want to save money find for other people random people on the internet pay 25 bucks a month for unlimited data on Verizon's network with visible and that is an awesome way to save money now if you're not into finding strangers or just don't want to do visible another great option for a family plan is going with t-mobile or another big four carrier those can be expensive but if you bring more people on if you find some good little reliable friends to help you pay that bill your cost per line will go down now for instance look at this I pulled up t-mobile's website you can see what it costs for one person for all of these plans then you switch it to two people and the cost per line goes down you hooked up two three and four and so on the more people you add the cheaper your lines will be so that is one other way you can save money on your cell phone plan each month now the fifth and final tip I have for you today is don't upgrade your cell phone upgrading your phone will cost you upwards of $1,000 upfront or about $1,000 spread out in monthly payments over the course of years and that is just an annoying bill to have to take care of each month so if it's time for an upgrade either keep the phone you have or get a
