[Music] hello and good day everyone mark wolf with emergency reporting here for our special edition of virtual thursday 2021 edition number two today we will be reviewing um getting up some resolution and resolving your login and authentication challenges so without further ado let's just go ahead and get into it so we need to uh transition to our new uh website login or sign in page what i recommend that you do and i am going to jump in and log into this page for my first example is what we're requesting you to do is to go for your system administrators primarily go to your admin module and let me jump into that training account i'm going to show you this in and we're going to go again to the admin module and we're going to take a look at our personnel list i recommend you take a look at this and for all your personnel on your personnel list all the way over here on the right is their last login session and what we're recommending that you do in this case um we've seen that james here hasn't logged into this particular account since december 9th if you see anybody in your list if i go down a few here you'll see one that is last logged in on the 26th of september 2019. anybody that's not logged in since um prior to 12 6 20 20 december 6 2020 they need to migrate we recommend that they do that process as soon as possible to uh transition to the new sign in page so that's step one that we're going to talk about is checking your personnel list and those people that have not signed in after december 6 2020 they need to do this migration process that we're going to cover here in just a few moments so let me go ahead and log out here so we can get to covering the rest of the material here first of all this is the what we now call the old login page pre-migration let's call it you can see the the url secure.emergencyreporting.com login.php what i ask people to when you're looking at this page is the login button read and does it say login this is where you're going to start if you need to migrate through the new system now there's two different pathways that you can take in this first example we're going to have the the pathway that your current login your current username meets the new security rules and we'll go through this process to show you if you're one of these folks your username meets the criteria how you transition so how we would start this is putting in your username and the username field and then your password down in the password field and go ahead and select login now in this scenario you can see your next steps we have two of them first of all is the only thing you need to do in this scenario is reset your password and then we're going to talk about bookmarking the new er home page and that url is right at the bottom of this dialog window so we're going to select go reset your password and on this particular page your only action is to reset your password so i will put this in and then we have to confirm it fairly simple process now remember you've got some password requirements that you're going to see displayed over here on the right side of the screen one of the changes that you may see is that the password requirements are at least eight characters all the other requirements like one upper case letter one lowercase letter one number and one special character still remain previously you were able to alter the minimum requirements for the number of characters now it's hardcoded at eight and that's what you'll need to have so after you get your password in and then you confirm it we select save password and you will land on the home page or dashboard which is what we're going to do right now so on this particular page and this is an extremely important point on the computers that you're using you want to bookmark from this page the url and i'm going to highlight it in blue at the top of your page secure.emergencyreporting.com you can add this as a new bookmark or go into your list of bookmarks and edit it to this and it has to be limited to the text you see at the top of the page secure.emergencyreporting.com and you'll be fine with that into the future now in the case of some fire departments that have a common computer that multiple users will sit down and access emergency reporting from but just as a reminder you may need to keep that old bookmark or favorite in so people can perform this migration process and bookmark this new page and label them as such new er login old er login and that should help you out quite a bit so that's our first scenario [Music]
