Save initialized gender

it's charlie again commie preacher again i am organizing the church of the revolution as an online and in real life hybrid community if at some point you would like to start a bible study book study virtually let me know i will do that right away and of course once the pandemic list we can start groups in our the places that we live i actually have a bible study series called the people's communist bible study um that goes through the gospel of luke and the first few chapters the book of acts and just explains the story of how jesus was a communist radical organizer um and how that should be you know everyone should believe that whether they are christian or not because jesus was a communist but you don't have to believe anything else about jesus you could be an atheist you can believe god does it you can't even believe jesus didn't exist and still believe that the story told about him means he was a communist that's the core uh statement of this channel end of this organization which doesn't really exist more than a dream in my own head one last note please if you like the videos that i have posted so far and you want to see more of them if you want me to improve my quality and my frequency and all of that stuff go to my patreon page at patreon.com commie preacher capital c capital p i can't do a p in sign language very well kami preacher with a capital p at patreon and you'll find my page and you can subscribe for as little as a dollar a month i don't charge for any of my content ever that's that's totally a free will donation if you would like to make it you can even make a one-time donation if that's all you can handle right now that's totally cool but everything is loved and appreciated sorry i'm a little apparently i promise i'm getting new lights and i will get rid of this green screen flicker but for now you know this is where we're at so this video is actually not continuing the series that i began with videos one and two i have a plan and i will again take up in the next video where i was going which is with the um a full revolution of love's communism today we're going to do sort of a 2.0 video here a 2.1 video this is going to be on sex and gender revolution a love's communism perspective and this arises out of one of the comments i got on my second video in which one portion did deal with patriarchy and another part deal with um heterosexism and so we're going to deal with those two things again a little bit deeper this will probably be a somewhat shorter video because i'm really only responding to one particular comment that was left on my channel because i want you to know that i listen to everything you say and if i can't answer everything you say in a comment i will do a video so here we go one thing i would note and this is from the gentle them this is a listener to my channel and in the in his comment or their comment i will say their comment because i do not know their pronouns in their comment they said the thing i would note is that when you talk about men what you what i think you mean is cis men trans men are men but obviously don't have the same societal privilege as cis men when you separate it out into men and people with marginalized genders it may make some trans men feel left out i think terminology can be helpful to make more people feel included so i want to start right there with with with that it is true that i was using men and non-men and women as sort of the total sum of the categories they did not mention trans men specifically in anything i said in the video where i was talking about gender identity and i realized that that wasn't what i was trying to do what i was trying to do was say there are men cis men heterocys men for the most part although gay cis men often are just as wealthy and powerful or at least a significant fraction of gay men are as powerful as the cis men that run most of the world's empires and some of them are not white although most of them are white this is the thing the 20th and 21st centuries has seen an increasing um rise of certain excluded populations marginalized populations generating a few wealthy and powerful people barack obama being one of the most obvious examples who would have thought that a nigerian-american you know he is black but he's nigerian his father is nigerian his mother is a white american woman who would have thought that a biracial nigerian-born or a nigerian descendant would become the president of the united states it's almost unthinkable especially given his middle name was hussein right because all the hatred of saddam hussein but here we go this comment is absolutely correct that the way i was parsing it out it sounded like i was excluding trans men from either of those two categories either the non-men women category and the men category that i was using and i hear that and i will try to be clear that when i'm talking about men in the ruling class it is men with white political you know gender race political and economic power that's the typical ruling class of men everyone else working class men poor men whether they're white or not whether they're gay straight trans or cis they are also oppressed by this ruling class the ruling class is the most important concept that i have personally come up as i've tried to understand systems of oppression because we often you know talk about you know capitalism as if it wasn't being run by people now admittedly people don't have a lot of power even the people who are quote running capitalism have a lot less power than you might imagine because they are controlled by the other people in the class as well as the institutions that put that class in place the banking system the political economic system all of that keeps a certain class of people in power but once they get in power it's very hard to change anything which is why you can't count on a president even a liberal democratic president much less a moderate democratic u.s president and again i realize i'm limiting my audience i'm talking about u.s presidents not you know the world order we're not talking about europe we're not talking about asia or any other place i'm talking mainly about capitalism and the ruling class operates in the united states but this is the internet there are no more borders anymore anyone in almost any country can listen to this video so i want to be clear i am talking about u.s presidents they tend to be white they tend to be male they tend to be wealthy in fact they're almost all wealthy there are very few exceptions that that white male members of our government are not wealthy they tend to all be wealthy maybe lower level bureaucrats accept it so do i believe in trans men i absolutely do i absolutely believe that your gender is an internal perception of yourself it is not based on the physical characteristics you know talking genitalia here that doesn't determine your gender what determines your gender is how you perceive yourself are you a member of the group known as men or are you not are you a member of the group known as women or are you a member of this non-binary category and i realized that by saying non-men and women i was not explicitly including trans men but i would say that most trans men fall into the non-men category and when i say most men there are a very few trans men who are very wealthy very few i mean maybe one or two and i'd have to think really hard i mean i the the one trans woman that we know is somewhat powerful is um um caitlyn jenner you know she's wealthy not a billionaire or maybe i don't know caitlyn jenner's um economic worth right now but that is a powerful trans woman which is too bad because she's a republican and a reactionary but that's you know and wealthy you know but and sometimes she is used as the face of trans women and absolutely she should not be that said i still call her by her pronouns i don't believe in misgendering as a way to punish a powerful person you people's gender is what they identify as not what you want to insult them with i was called a girl i was called a and a queer in a homeland i'm sorry for the words i will put a trigger warning at the beginning of this video or at the end you know trigger warning there are some i use some words in here like those that i just used because i wanted to tell you i got those hurled at me and i am pretty much a cis male but i am also a little bit effeminate you may not notice it but the ponytail might give it away i've had a ponytail since i was in my 20s and i've cut my hair maybe three times shorter than this i used to have it longer but as you get older for some reason it doesn't grow back when you trim it so my hair is much shorter than i'd like it to be i'd like it to be down to my butt but you know i i am a bit of a hippie but it's also a bit of a gender you know screw the gender paradigm i don't need to keep my hair short to make you know the the military happy because you know they don't allow men in the military if they keep their hair long you know so anyway all right i am wandering a bit off topic what i am trying to focus on today is gender and sexual revolution and i was sort of pointed out to me that by not explicitly including trans men in the category of oppressed gender identities marginalized gender identities i was not i was doing a disservice to my audience and i apologize it was all on me i was doing this on my feet i was thinking too fast and i got sloppy and careless and when i'm dealing with what i think are the most important topics on earth the liberation of the oppressed i shouldn't be making mistakes like that and i will do better there was more to um do the gentle dems and i i'm getting from the gentle damn that that this person is a they them pronoun and that is absolutely cool i don't consider them chosen i don't consider them preferred i consider them correct use a person's correct pronouns and i have to thank my very good friend and trans woman andrea who i went to seminary with andrea pointed out to my whole class of pastoral care students that it's not preferred pronouns it's your correct pronouns what are your correct pronouns so they them for the gentle them um the last thing i will mention is that you perhaps want to be a more cognizant of your audience this is a building on the previous comment occasionally as a queer non-binary person i felt like i was being talked about like i wasn't in the room i noticed a tendency for you to do this while talking about people of color as well it's not like a huge deal but at least the impression that you are really only talking to white cis hat men again i have to do better i failed and i'm sorry i apologize if anyone felt like i was ignoring you excluding you you know if you're rich white says hat you can feel a little excluded because to get into the kingdom of heaven you have to pass through the eye of a needle you know as big as while you're as big as a camel according to jesus that the oppressors don't get into the kingdom of heaven easily they're the last jesus said the first shall be last and the last shall be first that means the first in this system will be put to the end of the line and the poorest in this system the current system will be moved to the head of the line just imagine how many billions of people have to go into the kingdom of heaven before even the wealthy you know the least wealthy person you know gets to go in that's hell this hell is basically standing in line for billions of years while everybody else goes into heaven before you that's hell i'll get into hell in another video but what i want to say here is i i aim to be as inclusive and as universalistic as possible and i failed because at least one person told me that as a queer non-binary person they did not feel as if i was speaking of them or to them as if they were in the room and i will be careful of that i do sort of get in a lecture mode that's not good that's not an excuse not an excuse i'm i'm wrong i should continue since the format we're doing here is i am trying to speak to an audience i need to be aware of that audience that they include lgbtq and plus persons of identity they include people of color they include black brown asian bi uh biracial all of those folks are the intended audience of these videos i do believe that my particular perspective as a cis white hat male of working class origin my parents were not wealthy and i have never been wealthy and i never want to be wealthy that's why i'm doing a free will ministry a free will donation type ministry i i gave up on wealth i told jesus i would never become wealthy and i am sticking to that at the age of 58 i'm still not wealthy i'm making more money now than i have in a long time because i have a reasonably good job with a church here in illinois but i'm never going to be wealthy in fact i gave that up i said i'm not going to take a full-time job in a church because there are some churches that will pay you 100 000 a year that's too effing close to being wealthy for me i won't do it but again let me address the audience when i speak to my audience i want you to know that if i start sounding like i'm i'm pretty i'm talking about you in the third person as if you are not there i am wrong call me on it call me in call me out if i stop listening but first call me in like this this comment called me in in a loving caring way i i thought it was a great comment and yes he was critical they said bad host they were critical of my words but they offered it in a spirit of help in a spirit of i'm on your side essentially and that helped me get to the place where i needed to be with this that yes my unders my enunciation of my understanding of gender was not clear enough that trans men are in fact an excluded and marginalized identity in the united states trans women and women cis women even all of you non-binary persons all of you are excluded from the patriarchal construct of the cis hetero and mostly white male and my audience is for everyone and i i really regret that i didn't do as good as i should have in that last video and i will do better i promise i hope you keep listening um again i'm going to put a trigger warning on this one and just say gender sex revolution so revolutionary love all my comrades i'm excited i have over a thousand views on my first video and i've already got over 200 subscribers in less than a week of youtube presence so i'm i'm just in love and i'm in love with my audience and i want to work for you i want to minister to you i want to send you the radical infinite love that i can and again if you feel so moved consider supporting me via patreon you can also find me on facebook and twitter commonpreacher on twitter charlie our last name is spelled e-a-r-p like wyatt my first name is c-h-a-r-l-e-y it's okay if you write charlie in the comments with an ie but that's really my dead name i haven't used that name in a long time i use charles for legal purposes but nobody calls me charles not even my own mother i love you guys all right um just to sum up trans men are an excluded gender excluded and marginalized gender category and impressed people and i'm on their side and i am sorry that i didn't truly carry that out in my last video all right for the revolution
