hi I'm Brock from Gummer's product support today I'm gonna talk to you about saving and recording tracks on a Garmin handheld tracks are gonna be a historical representation of where you were during that activity gonna be very similar to a breadcrumb trail to begin begin by pushing the power button and making sure you have an adequate GPS signal you want to make sure you have a couple bars there or else the device will not be able to record a track for you then push the Menu button twice and navigate to the main menu and select set up and then down the tracks here we want to make sure that your track log is set to record if it's set to do not record your device will not record any tracks for you and this process will not work so we want to make sure it's either set to record do not show or record show on map and we're gonna set select record show on map and then push the quit button twice and you'll be back to the main menu now navigate down a track manager and here you'll see a list of all the tracks that are currently recorded in the device before beginning an activity or a hike we recommend going to this screen and selecting current track and then navigate down to clear current track this is going to delete any unwanted track data that may have accumulated prior to your activity so we recommend doing this at a trailhead or right before you begin that activity so we'll select yes then go out and record your activity once you're finished recording your activity push the Menu button twice then navigate down a track manager here you'll be able to select your current track and save track this is gonna allow you to save that activity and that location you just did you can change the name or keep the name as it is we're gonna leave the name as it is and select done it's going to export that track for you and then once that track has been exported you'll get the option to clear current trip data and track data this is done if you're usually done that activity for the day but if you wanted to continue you can select no so we'll go ahead and for us we'll select yes and there we go now you can see that your track has been saved there you can select on it you can view it on a map or see numerous other pieces of information on that track and that's it that's saving tracks and starting tracks on a Garmin handheld for more information go to support garmin.com and thanks for watching [Music]
