what's up guys jesse and melissa here with adventure endeavor and obviously you could tell we are in quartzite arizona this video is going to be a little bit about quartzite and uh what is the deal with quartzite why do so many rvers come here it's pretty simple really it's warm there's a lot of open space fuel's cheap propane's cheap dumps cheap they got water they got all that stuff so we're gonna kind of go over all that uh the best we can and give you a little mini tour of the town and let you know what it's all about let's go so guys if you have been rv in a little while or if you are brand new to rving you may have heard of a little town called quartzite arizona and you may be wondering what the heck is the deal with quartzite why is it so special why do all the rvers talk about it and if you haven't heard of it at all we are here to tell you what it's all about basically this town is a mobile living mecca it is set up to be really really easy for our viewers to live short term or long term it is a large expansive area in the desert they have moondocking areas on all four corners of the town interstate 10 runs directly through the town so it's you know kind of on your way into phoenix or down into la if that's where you're headed they have a long-term visitors area specifically set up for boondocking that is 180 to stay for six months and it does not get any cheaper than that you don't have to move they do have somebody that can come around and do the honey wagon situation and dump your tanks for you if that's what you're into or you can cruise on into town and dump your own tanks and then go right back they just have a lot of options they've got really really cheap rv parks in town if you want to pay for that and if you want full hookups if you don't have solar if you know that's the kind of option you're looking for they do have that available so all around this area they do have your standard 14 day limit boondocking spots but the long-term visitor area is an option if you're looking to settle in this area long term a lot of people from snowy areas come here in the winter just to escape the snow and that's it and they just hang out for six months at a time and of course having such a large boondocking area makes it a really great place for large rver get-togethers whether you're a weekender or a full-timer it's a great spot popular attraction in quartzite is the tyson wells rv park and showgrounds where vendors can come and actually get full hookup spots for their rvs and display all of their goods to sell for months at a time and this is a huge huge area they have all sorts of things anything you could want anything you could imagine just by the name quartzite you can tell it is a popular area for rock hounding they have a gem show here there's all sorts of interesting rocks available at the fairgrounds and they also do the rv show there in january every year we are at the court site swap me and this is the issue my wife loves buying stuff i finally got my giant mat that i wanted we got this sweet visor what size did you go with i got the sweet visor for ted uh i went with a nine by 18. and gray cocoa pellet design we got the visor for our friend ted but she haggled it into the deal i did so it was a three dollar visor three dollar value free ninety nine so remember to go ahead and haggle here yes it's the best part i love haggling the best part that's the best another one of the ways that they set this town up really well for full-time rvers is they have a place called the rv pit stop where they make it really really easy to pull through and dump your tanks fill your propane and get your fresh water fill all in one spot there are several rv parts and service centers all over the town they've got solar installers like solar bills and a couple others there are a few markets in town if you are looking for groceries blythe is probably the biggest town with a regular grocery store and parker is going to be the biggest town with a walmart nearby but they do have the road runner market in town where you can get some fresh produce and a pretty decent selection of groceries for how remote this place is as far as recreational activities go there are some hiking trails mountain biking trails off-roading really great spots to take like a little razor off-road vehicle so as we mentioned guys quartzite is a huge boondocking area and partly because of that it's really nice that they offer a free dump station where you can dump all of your trash i'm not talking about the typical kind of dump station i'm talking about a landfill so hours do vary by season and uh you can drop recyclables here as well you have anything to add i just dumped our trash good job well guys as you probably have gathered quartzite is a very popular area for snowbirds because of all of this sunshine look at that blue sky sunshine is free power so like always guys we really hope you enjoyed that video if
