being a few bookstores and places like that to sell but mainly it's gonna be on online to purchase and i hope everybody reads it and gets it for the grandkids they'll love it okay did you tell them we're upstairs in the music room today just to give you a little change of scenery um it occurred to me that some people may be tuning in who may not know how to be saved you may want to have the assurance of salvation that you're going to heaven but maybe no one has ever told you how the terminology that we use may be confusing to someone who is not familiar with the gospel i know of a preacher friend of mine who when he got saved was really excited about sharing his newfound faith he had a co-worker that he wanted to witness to so he asked him have you ever been saved a man said from what we use words like salvation being saved propitiation and other words and phrases which are foreign to those who have not been exposed to them like maybe we have so uh in hope uh i hope simple terms today i'm going to explain to you why you need to be saved what salvation is and how to be saved first why you need to be saved to put it simply because you're lost to explain that we need to go back to adam and eve watch our earlier programs about the sin of adam and eve eve was tempted of satan to partake of the forbidden fruit which was in the midst of the garden of eden she did eat of it and gave it to adam who also ate of it in the instant that they ate of that forbidden fruit the fruit that god had told them not to eat they died they died spiritually in that moment but later on they died physically because then disobeyed god disobedience to god is sin we have 66 books which tell us all about sin its consequences for those who sin and the future poor sinners in john 1 john 1 8 john said if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us some people think they're too good to go to hell but the exact opposite is true they're not good enough to go to heaven none of us are i wasn't no one who has ever been saved would tell you that they were good enough to go to heaven it's only the righteousness of jesus christ through whom we obtain salvation for he meaning god hath made him meaning jesus to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be the righteousness of god in him meaning jesus that's ii corinthians 5 21. i need to explain what hell is the bible tells us that god created hell for the devil and his angels it is a place of torment designed for those who follow satan if you have never been saved you are a follower of satan jesus told the pharisees who were the religious rulers of the day here on his day on earth you are of your father the devil and the lust of your father will you do john 8 44 there are people out there who say that god is a god of love therefore he would never send someone to hell do you see how satan works he turns everything upside down it's not god who sends people to hell the exact opposite is true it is god who has made a way for us to establish in hebrews it says how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation hebrews 2 3 jesus said the son of man hath come to seek and deceive that which was lost luke 19 10. in john 3 17-21 it says for god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved he that believeth on him that is jesus is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of god and this is the condemnation that light that is jesus is coming to the world and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil for everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light list his deeds shall be reproved but if he that doeth the truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be manifest that they are wrought in god people love darkness rather than light people love to sin so they sin they would rather remain in darkness than be shown the light david said thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path psalm 119 105 paul said in romans 5 12 by one man death entered into the world that's adam and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned one man shall be saved he was talking about adam he called adam the first adam and referred to jesus as the last adam first corinthians 15 45. it says the first man adam was made of the living soul the last adam that's jesus was made a quickening spirit that word quickening means life-giving jesus is a life-giving savior the second thing i want to talk to you about is why you need to be saved i've touched on that already you need to be safe because currently you are condemned you stand condemned before god jesus told the unsaved depart from me ye that work iniquity for i never knew you matthew 7 23 in another program i've told you about the rich man in lazarus when the rich man died he went to hell the bible tells us that he begged abraham who was and is in heaven to send someone to warn his brothers of the torment that they would endure to tell them not to come to hell he said in luke 16 30 if one come from the dead to tell them they will repent i'm here to tell you that one has come from the dead he died on the cross he was buried in a tomb and for three days and three nights and a rose of victor over sin and death over satan and hell without your trusting in jesus you will continue in your sins until you die it is appointed to man once to die and after this the judgment hebrews 9 27 it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living god hebrews 10 31 the third thing i promise to tell you is how to be saved i can give you that in one sentence believe on the lord jesus christ and thou shalt be saved acts 16 31 you don't have to climb the steps to the basilica in rome you don't have to say 10 hail marys you don't have to be baptized although you probably will want to be after you're saved not in order to be saved you don't have to memorize the new testament although you will want to read your bible and memorize verses you don't have to join a church although you should once you are saved let me give you some more verses he that calleth upon the name of the lord shall be saved romans 10 for by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of god not of works lest and men should boast ephesians 2 8 and 9 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god is eternal life romans 6 23 not by works of righteousness we have done but according to his mercy he hath saved us titus 3 5. i'm going to conclude with this verse that so many people know and love it's found in john verse 16 for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life i certainly hope and pray if you are lost and headed to hell you will come to know jesus as your savior and make him the lord of your life if you want salvation simply go to god now in prayer and ask his forgiveness of your sin the bible says if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness first john 1 9 ask jesus for salvation he said he that cometh unto me i will in no wise cast out john 6 37 jesus said i just say this is what you say jesus i accept the sacrifice you paid on the cross for my sin please save me he will save you i am living proof of that as many millions of others are let's pray lord i come to you in prayer on behalf of anyone who may hear this who does not know you as a savior that somehow they will come to the knowledge of the truth and accept the salvation that you purchase for them on calvary's cross in jesus name i pray
