hello her buddy how's it going Gary Liske here and it's been a while since I made a video a lot of stuffs been happening in my life again but I've come to you today because I am especially riled up sorry about the shaky cam I'll turn get away from this table I'm especially riled up today because of something that just happened to me huh let's see it's 10:00 a.m. now so about three hours ago I got home from work I've been working third shifts I got home from work and I found that I had an email from Microsoft saying that I had rude Xbox Live in fact for a year and that I'd bought 12,000 Microsoft Points so I immediately thought oh this is a scam email they're just trying to spam the crap out of me and and get me to give him some sort of information but I checked the balance of my credit card on my cell phone and found out that it's completely true they they they pretty much drained me dry so I had to wait until Microsoft's support center was open during which time I sat in my xbox live account changing my password and watching them distribute all of the points they bought as as gifts to other accounts which is just I guess that's what they do they hack an account with a credit card they find out whether or not they can you know use it to buy points they use it to buy points and and send them along to an account where they I guess from people who bought bought points from them so anyway that here's the deal I called Microsoft and they told me that it's gonna take up to 15 days to to do an investigation and I'll just let you know right now I work for for a telephone company and I'm in their fraud department so I'm really familiar with this and if if I took 15 days to investigate a fraud especially one where money is involved big money for a customer is involved if I took 15 days I wouldn't have my job anymore so this is just ridiculous like I hope they get back to me way quicker than 15 days I hope that's just a very generous time frame so the main thing I want to talk to you about now that I've weaved that tale of woe to you is that you all should not put your credit card on your xbox live account and that is because not because you know I'm afraid that this will happen to you obviously this is a problem but it's really to send a message because the only reason that I had a credit card on my xbox live account is because they don't let you remove it if you go to the website and go to your billing information you can switch it to something else what if I don't want to get a prepaid card to give me more xbox live time what if I don't want to be Xbox Live Gold anymore what if I don't have or want a PayPal account I have a PayPal account it's linked to this same credit card I don't know if that would have been any better in this situation probably considering them there'd be PayPal's well no they probably wouldn't have stopped it but anyway enough speculation on what could have been basically you can't just straight-up delete the billing information off of your account you can't do it and let me just tell you out of all the gaming platforms I use this is the only one where you can't do that you have to call them at their customer support center during business hours when they're open and talk to someone answering security questions and just to remove the billing information you know it's not like you're trying to add a new one it's not like you're trying to access it and get the credit card number you are trying to remove it this is as someone who works in a fraud department I know for a fact that by removing the ability to pay no fraud can be committed fraud is committed when someone can make money they can't make any profit off of you if all they're doing is removing the billing information from your account that is not going to get them anything they want to use it to to make purchases they want to get the credit card number and use it elsewhere or they want to use your account like in the case of say World of Warcraft accounts to to take all your in-game stuff and sell it to other people whatever there's always money you can always trace it back to money so this is just complete bollocks and just to give you an example the three other gaming platforms that I use on a regular basis or semi regular basis one steam very easy and went to my account in the Steam client and they're right there on that front account page it had my last four digits of my credit card and the word delete right next to him I clicked delete and that was it it was gone the Wii and the DSi all the Nintendo SHOP stuff doesn't even save your credit card information that's very secure although it's a little bit inconvenient and well Nintendo's online experience tends to be inconvenient anyway PSN I got onto my PlayStation 3 I went to the account information section under the PlayStation Network part of the cross media bar I went into billing information and right there at the bottom on the console itself is is this big big freaking blue button that says delete billing information and you hit it and it deletes the billing information and that's that it's gone the anyone who hacks that wouldn't be able to use it so it occurs to me that Microsoft has a severe flaw here account security is very important but as far as saving credit card information goes they need to they need to either let you remove it so that you don't have to have it on there all the time only when you're using it or they need to ask security questions in the console when you make a purchase when I go to make a purchase on the Xbox it should ask me for the three-digit code on the back of my credit card and the expiration date or just just the three-digit code I guess is fine or it should ask me one of my security questions because they've made me set up you know a security question I have to answer it when I call them about anything so why not ask you this security question and ask you for the code on the Bekir card when you make a purchase so by making it so easy for you to purchase stuff and so hard for you to remove the credit card if you don't want it out there they are creating a very bad situation um I think I've said just about everything I want to say with this I may make a follow-up video if I think of anything else but right now I'm calling you all if you have Xbox 360s or you use games for Windows Live although I really don't recommend it you should use steam get your credit card off of there call them call them immediately and have them remove your credit card and here I should be able to pull up their phone number and give it to you and then I'll put it in the oh yeah I got it in my phone hold on okay hold on in a video all right so their phone number is from their Xbox Live account now anyway that's all Gary Liske out
