hey guys my name is rishabh and in this discord tutorial i'm going to show you guys how to get the one and only verified bot developer badge on your discord profile so i'll be walking you guys step by step through the process on how to get the verified bot developer badge and how i got it myself i've been getting a lot of requests to make this video so simply today i'm going to show you guys exactly how to do it and i'm going to walk you through the process alright so recently on discord if you guys are active you've probably seen a lot of scam bots appearing a lot of free nitro discord birthday bots appearing and all they do is when you add it to your server they mass dm every single person in your server with the bot invite so then those people end up inviting it to their servers and it keeps progressing on literally with an exponential curve so in order to counteract this along with other api abuser bots discord has implemented something called bot verification and essentially what they've done is they've made it so if your bot is in more than 100 servers they make it so it requires verification and basically the bot won't be able to join any more servers after that point unless you verify okay so if you already have a discord bot great if you don't now is the time you're going to want to create a discord bot i've left a link in the description of this video on a great tutorial i found from another youtuber that basically shows you how you can set up your discord bot so this tutorial is what you're going to watch if you have just started your discord bot or if you're in the process of making one but if you already have a discord bot not to worry i'm going to show you guys exactly how to get the batch so in order to get the badge your bot has to be in over 75 servers okay the bot has to be in more than 75 servers another very very important thing to note is the bot cannot be in fake or inorganic servers meaning you can't just create a bunch of servers or get it added to a bunch of servers with one or two members discord is looking for your bot to grow organically and having actual members add your bot so that prompts the question how can i get my bot added to servers so the answer is quite simple the best way to get your discord bot spread is by word of mouth over here i actually own a server it's called the youtube cafe and we have over 8 000 members you should actually join the link is discord dot gg slash youtube anyway so what we first did when we launched the youtube bot is we made an announcement telling everybody to add it to their servers and that initially got it at least 200 discord servers and since then it's just been spreading because more users see it in their server and they see it being used so they add it in more of their discord servers so that's the best way to get it at it uh through word of mouth so if you own your own server or you have some friends that own servers it's a great idea to tell them to add your bot and hopefully get it spread throughout servers now if you don't have access to other servers and can't get it added manually i'll show you a few tips one of the things is to target servers that have the same niche as your bot so the bot that i got verified with is called at youtube and basically it's a youtube stat spot and essentially what i did in the beginning is i contacted some other youtube servers the owners of those servers some admins and i told them that hey basically i have this really cool bot you guys should add it because it gives you these perks and i would really appreciate it if you could consider adding the spot and that ended up getting it in some big big servers with thousands of members and whenever those people if they just see the bot a few users will start using it which allows it to spread exponentially more and more people will check it out until you have a bot that's in hundreds of servers now for the third option the final option that i'm going to go through which is using uh discord bot lists so discord bot lists are essentially sites online that allow you to advertise your discord bots and allow people to find various discord bots so for example one of these top sites is actually called top.gg this is i'm going to say this is the best site for discord bot advertisements and essentially here i'm just going to type in youtube here and what you'll notice is that my bot over here shows up on the front page and a few days ago it was actually trending in this new boss section so we got a lot of servers so the bot is now in almost 2 600 servers so it's literally just spread like a wildfire since then but basically what what i'm trying to show you guys is that you can add it to these discord bot lists so let's go over top.gigi this is the most popular one and by far the best one you're going to want to add your bot to so you can go ahead to top gg and in this top corner uh you'll see this little thing that says login so just press log in and log in with your discord account don't worry top gg is a very trusted site it's been used by really millions of people so not nothing to worry about and over here once you log in you'll see an ad bot here is where you can submit your bot applications you're going to need to give your client id for your bot your bots library prefix some descriptions and all these things so it's a really good idea to maximize your seo in those sections so over here my team has actually gone ahead and worked on some html and css to make our bot page look really nice and uh once you actually submit your bot through this ad bot section top.gg will go through a verification process um it can take up to a few weeks but in the end it'll be extremely rewarding as you can get lots of people to add your discord bot so now that you've got your bot into you know 7 500 servers you must be asking how can i get it verified and the answer to that is quite quite simple so what you should be getting is i think it's either an email but for sure you'll get a discord message so this is the message that i actually got um when my bot got into more than 75 servers so it just says hey rj we noticed that you were an owner of a discord bot youtube that has been added to more than 75 servers congrats um we're going to keep our platform safe so in order to do that we need to do verification so they give you a little link to begin your verification process and essentially you're going to want to click on that upon clicking on that it'll be in your discord developer portal i believe on the spot page right here it'll show a little verify button you can go ahead and click on that you're going to need to verify your id uh some sort of identification such as a passport a driver's license or something like that you also i believe have to be um i i'm not 100 sure but you might have to be above i think you just have to be above 13 you just have to abide by discord's policy for that but um that's that's what you have to do there and discord will typically review your bot i'd say i got mine within like a week or so so it was pretty fast process and um once that happened our bot right here if i type in youtube you'll see the bot gets a little cool tag the bot gets this little uh cool verified bot tag next to it rather than just a bot and um on your profile along with all the members of your team they get a verified bot badge and one of the things i highly highly recommend you guys do is make sure you guys have your team set up on the discord developer portal before you begin the verified process otherwise your team members will not get the badge only the person who submits the application will get the badge but in our case i added my two other developers um as members of the team so not me here he also has a verified bot developer badge and a vista he has the verified bot developer badge so because of that our team now has these cool badges and our bot got verified and it's now spreading like a wildfire to thousands of servers um so yeah it's just been really amazing seeing this whole bot process uh really if you guys have any questions make sure to leave them in the comment
