so measurements are something that types whether it's just a standard distance if you're doing a you know whatever kind of study general a general abdomen kidney measurement or something or when we're doing some sort of you know like an OB study or if we're gonna carotid you know we're always taking measurements and calculations so that's something that we'll discuss now the type of study that we're doing right now is obviously an OB second third trimester and when you want to get ready to do a measurement you can hit freeze and if you hit the measure button which is just right up above the trackball okay that will bring up the type of calc package that is set for this exam preset so again we're doing an obstetrics exam a second third trimester pregnancy and these are the types of measurements that are in this exam calc preset yet okay and if so if we were doing an abdomen that pre set of calculations would look differently I would say things like common bile duct and liver and pancreas okay all the measurements that you take in other exam presets and likewise for your carotid Zoar your thyroids all of those things vary depending on what you exam preset you're in and all that's again controlled by when you press your exam you choose your transducer and the exam preset okay so with this OB study when you hit measure we see that you have a nice image of an abdomen circumference and so use the you hit the measure button up popped our list of all the measurements and use the trackball on the set key to choose what you want to do and so that gives you a caliper and just like you've done in the past you're gonna use the trackball to move the caliper to one side of the image and then you'll use the set key to select to get your other caliper and when you drag that across you can see that you start to get your ellipse and you'll notice that you know unless it's just a perfect time that you know it lines up just like you did there that being said yeah you want to adjust it so if you hit set now it allows you to change that elliptical part of it and if you don't like where your calipers are set to the left and right or you know depending how the baby is you can hit the Update button oops well that's okay that's a good thing to do that's a good thing to do because everyone used to know so if you go ahead and hit clear that'll be that'll then pull away and allow you to go back because like a lot of the other functions when it's green it's active those measurements but when we hit set and walked in and it was white that means that it either wants you to save that and I'll put in a report page or you know you need to clear it if you weren't fully happy with me right exactly so you went back and you chose abdominal circumference which is good you got your caliper you set it on that side and then you set on that side perfect and when you do updates it allows now I'm doing update and not correct yep update allows you to toggle backwards and moving us if if you hit update again and allow you to track back to the other caliper and update again even goes you know back and forth back and forth the set button always advances your guys we're caliper exactly now I need I need this so I need to expect you got it yeah okay and that and then if I if I like this I hit set again yes it does it will lock it in then and it automatically puts it into my calc it does yep and we'll show you where that report is and one of those measurements are now with this a point where we'd save that image okay and then here is where you're gonna get all of your information on what that measurement means yep exactly down down on the screen you'll see a little box that as you start to make all of your measurements your your femur length and your head circumference and your BPD all those will start to pop it and you can see with this one that we already have an estimated fetal weight because we've taken a few measurements prior to that's nice that it comes on in this but though you don't see it until you go to the report page right like that you can you know you can see I think once you have three out of the four main growth measurements it'll start to populate that estimated for you to wait and so right now the baby weighs one pound six ounces plus or minus I think maybe about six ounces at this point so yeah good yeah so if I were to you know fast forwarding we've taken all of our measurements and now I want to go back and look at my measurement or my calculations on my report page I may want to delete some of them we may want to you know kind of investigate so how do I go in and kind of manipulate some of the things so up on top of the keyboard we see a button labeled report so go ahead and you can press that one and what pulls up is all of the measurements that we've taken so far okay and here's where it tells you the type of formula that you're calculating from you know Hadlock being namely the the one that we use most often but you could change these if you want to do correct yep okay yep there's all the major major measurement packages yeah he's a heck they have all the last names that everyone recognizes right and so you can see that you've taken three abdominal circumference --is and run of those if you remember was an errant one where we're happy with you know where the elliptical was so if you click on there with the set key you can actually then you know put that cursor at the end of the last decimal and then you can use the backspace to go ahead and delete that and that'll take it away and they re a ver egde your de station leijen your weight and all those things that are meaningful okay great this is giving me my gestation age by ultrasound measurements here is my estimated fetal weight down here it gives it to you in grams and pounds it does yep it tells you the standard deviation so instead of it being you know possibly the half a pound without automatically three ounces still I guess yeah exactly so do you have charts well we can see gross we do yep so if you look on if you look on these two tabs here growth will go ahead if you click on that what that does if it pulls up the you know the standard deviation where where those like that they're all four on one page really it's like you have to keep printing like exactly that's nice and if I just save I'm saving this whole page yep it'll save a screenshot of that image to go along with your tagging point you're born and if you come back and click on okay there at the bottom of the screen they'll bring you back to this page and if you do analyze if you were to do a full a full scan and you were looking at all the limbs for all the anatomy this is where you can actually go in and click what you saw and what you didn't see in the babies lie whether they're Beatrice italic and one other function that's really neat is that you can auto fill these and it'll put in all the normal findings and you can go and change things if you need it to so nice but I wanted to say something else besides seen like pelvic ptosis or can I write whatever I want in there you can Wow that's very convenient yeah I like that I'm not sure jhj is a finding like your kidney has J okay good so you can put in whatever you want and there are multiple pages of that and at the very end you can do a B P P above physical profile score and along with comments every night sorry can I see this all laid out or do you just hit can you print the whole report or you have to print each page so you can take screenshots of each page what's nice is that you can also attach images to the report so let's say that you took your four main measurements when you go into your report page that we were just on and you come down here at the bottom we see that there's an image select right there and what that allows us to do is push over one image at a time or you can push them all over and we'll just we'll just push over a few over as many as you want so you can it makes the report a little bit longer right but what's really nice is when you come here to the print preview and click on that you can have a PDF report of all of your findings and comments generated yep include the growth curve will include all the things that you saw or didn't see as well as your comments there at the end that's really nice and that can be pushed across you know tearing Ammar Wow yeah then that's a PDF so I'll go along with it that's great I like that a lot what is this export button for here so if we hit export we can export that report to a USB thumb drive or a CD rewritable disc things like that you can you can move it over from our just the report okay just the report yeah okay so go ahead and click on if you click ok and you haven't selected where it's gonna go like you haven't selected anyway exactly so to get out of these things and go back to just live scanning do you do cancel or do you oh yeah yep you just did a report ok report yep and now you're back to the last measurement you took and then the freeze brings it back to live imaging great I think that covers calculation I didn't did I see let me just did I see heart rate in there where it is dead yeah go to the next page here oh there's two pages yep yep and if we go one more next cardiac activity says scene oh here it is video and it'll do average of your fetal heart rate and you can also change the method so you can do an average you can do the last you can do the maximum power you saw you don't have you know you're not stuck with just one option that's the way it is with a lot of these things that if you go back you can change even that's the method on you know all those 2d measurements you took and these all seem drop down I mean you're just go in and look and see what the option is yep yeah that's right okay nice that's calculating and report I like that
