Save viewer name

all right so you don't need telling that there are a lot of iphone options you could pick from when you're looking to buy one today of course you could go with one of the five that apple offers or you could find a great deal on a used one from a site like swappa where you can get something like an iphone 11 pro or an iphone 10s for a crazy low price but in this video i hope to give you the ultimate buyers guide of the best iphones you can buy in early 2021 so let's get started all right so first we're going to take a look at the runners up the ones that didn't quite make it into the top five and then we'll look at the top best iphones you can buy right now in 2021 so again let's start with that run result category so first we have the 2017 iphone 8 which you can pick up right now for about 250 to 260 us dollars on the used market now reasons i'm not recommending this as a phone for 2021 is it's three years old so there's not much software support left on it and also the battery life is pretty bad not only does it have a less power efficient lcd display but also since it's such a small phone it has a very small battery crammed inside of it and also it has a super old outdated design with thick bezels on the front and a home button and a single camera on the glass back personally the single camera is not too huge of a deal for me however i know it will for a lot of people who want to take shots from wider angles or zoom in closer so you can get higher quality and on a similar note we have the iphone 10 from 2017. now this phone is quite special to me personally because this was a phone that was very innovative it seemed like that to me at the time and there was nothing more i wanted than the iphone 10 at that time yeah i could definitely not save a thousand dollars for it so i never got it but hey i've got the iphone 12 mini now so that that's cool but anyway back to the iphone 10. the reason why i'm not recommending this in 2021 as of right now is simply because again it's three years old so there's not much software support left however if you are going to buy this and use it for maybe another year or year and a half and i actually think it's a great option it'll definitely feel futuristic if you haven't used one of these phones before with no home button and the new iphone design maybe you're coming from something like an iphone 7 or an iphone 6s this will be a great short term upgrade before you'll be able to get your hands on some money to buy a new one that'll last you quite a while and then we have this guy the iphone 10r from 2018. so apple will actually sell you one of these brand new in the box for about 500 us dollars or 500 british pounds now the reason i'm not recommending this was actually quite a list so number one you'd be pretty bad 828 p lcd screen so this screen isn't even 1080p full hd so yeah it's not going to be really good for watching video content and because it's an lcd is not very power efficient and the colors aren't as good on top of that it has met battery life because again the lcd is less power efficient but also it has a somewhat small battery on paper it does look bigger than the one on the 10s but because the 10s is more power efficient in its components and of course that oled display the battery life ends up being about the same or maybe a little bit better on the 10s and then finally it just has a single 12 megapixel camera on the back now this isn't something that that should prevent you from buying this phone but again it's a real bummer that they didn't put a second camera on this phone for something that goes up real close or maybe an ultra wide to take shots from wider or closer angles and then finally for the brass runner up we have the 2020 iphone se now i actually have this phone for the better part of 2020 and i liked it however there are some things you should know about it and some things that might prevent you from buying it now first off it has absolutely terrible battery life this thing has an absolutely small 1 821 milliamp hour battery which is comical and because the less power efficient lcd display it's only going to drain away more and because if you use your phone for maybe two or three years the battery is going to get more degraded and worse over time so unless you're a really light user someone who doesn't really use your phone that much or someone who's just going to maybe give it to a kid or maybe use it more short term then i think it's fine but i just think there's much better options at the 400 price than this iphone se on top of that the iphone se has the same outdated design as the iphone 8 with thick bezels a home button and a single camera on the glass back just like the iphone 8 because they basically copy the design of the iphone 8 aside from the apple logo which has now been moved to the middle and finally it has just a single camera which is actually the same one as the 10r because of the processing features of the a32 ship inside the phone which i actually think is one of the strong suits of the phone is that a13 ship and honestly i think that's the thing that saves the phone from being a complete no-go but yeah it is good value but not as good as some other phones you can get at the 400 price all right so those are the runners up now let's get to the winners starting with the 2020 iphone 12. so apple's a bit sneaky with the pricing for this one because they say it starts at 6.99 that's for these mini iphone 12 mini which i know not everyone wants so you're really going to be paying 800 if you want the normal size but on top of that they'll add an extra 30 if you want it unlocked direct from apple without buying through a carrier so really the price is 830 so please do not get confused by apple's weird pricing that they're marketing it's 830 dollars from normal size face iphone 12 so just know that if you're looking to buy it but that aside i think it's actually a great well-rounded phone so you're getting a 6.1 inch super retina xdr oled display so to put that into simpler terms it's an oled meaning that it's going to get deeper blacks because the black pixels on the screen will actually turn themselves off so not only does it save battery life but the blacks also look more real and because it's a super retina xdr it's super high resolution so you will be able to watch hd content on a larger than hd screen definitely something that i think a lot of people will appreciate and also this phone has the a14 bionic chip apple's latest chip with support for 5g on both millimeter wave and sub 6 5g networks also you're getting two 12 megapixel cameras on the back there's an ultrawide camera for taking super wide shots and a slightly less wide camera for going up a little bit closer it does not have a dedicated zoom camera however you can zoom in digitally however it won't be as good but it's still usable and definitely doesn't look bad also there's a 12 megapixel front camera with support for face id thanks to the true depth camera in the notch which yes there's a notch there's a notch all the 20 20 iphones except for the se which has it even worse yeah they haven't got rid of the notch yet so i really hope to do that with the next iphones and finally i just think once again it is a great well-rounded phone the amount of battery life you get the cameras the processing power all of it is just great and i think it is a great package for someone who's just looking for an amazing iphone with all the latest features and performance if you want to go even smaller than that you definitely can with the iphone 12 mini that's the iphone i have i'm actually recording with it right now so let me know in comments if this camera quality is good because i'm recording with the iphone 12 mini but this is for people who want a super compact phone with a tiny 4. 5.4 inch super retina xbr oled display and all the same benefits as the iphone 12 it definitely has a smaller battery however for me battery life has been pretty good so that definitely should not deter you from buying this phone all right now let's talk about the iphone 12 pro so this starts at a thousand dollars honestly i don't think it's a phone that a lot of people should consider unless you're gonna be doing some serious work with your phone maybe you need to use that lidar scanner for visualizing objects or maybe you need that telephoto camera to get super close up maybe you're a photographer and that's something that means a lot to you then definitely go for this but i just can't see this working out for the average consumer i think you'll get much better value at the iphone 12 or maybe a slightly cheaper iphone maybe something older maybe from 2019 or 2018 it's just this doesn't quite do it and of course if you want a larger iphone you can go from even more expensive iphone 12 pro max which starts at 1100 and has a six point seven inch super breath not xvr oled display but as for this one you're getting a 6.1 inch super retina xdr ola display it's a mouthful you're also getting the a14 bionic chip just like the iphone 12 and you're getting three 12 megapixel cameras on the back yes they are all 12 megapixels still which i don't think is as much of a problem as a lot of people are making it seem to be you know with all these android phones that have 180 megapixel camera sensors but to be honest photos on the iphone 12 series still look amazing so you're getting the 3x telephoto zoom camera the wide camera and the ultra wide camera along with that ladder scanner on the back for ar and depth information and once again it is a great well-rounded phone of course there are those two standout features the lidar scanner and that 3x zoom camera but other than that i think it's a very well-rounded phone it has great battery life a great screen and just an overall great package and of course if you want to go bigger you can like with the iphone 12 pro max which i mentioned earlier if you want to get something slightly cheaper and still good then i think the iphone 11 is actually a great option so apple sells this brand new for 599 bucks and it's quite a good thought you're getting a 6.1 inch liquid retina lcd display so the same displays the iphone 10r it's pretty low resolution and it's definitely not the best out there you will notice it if you put it next to the iphone 12 however a lot of people won't be able to tell the difference and it should be fine for day-to-day usage you're also getting the a13 bionic chip from last year which is a very capable chip a very powerful one and i think it's something that will last quite a while with a lot of software support and something that'll be perfect for some gaming maybe or some multitasking or something like that everything will be perfectly fine with this and there will be no worries whatsoever also there is two 12 megapixel cameras on the back a wide and an ultra wide camera just like the iphone 12 as well as a front 12 megapixel camera that has intruder technology for face id and once again it is a great well-rounded phone with some pretty respectable specs for the 600 price that you're asking next we have the iphone 11 pro and i think this is a great value so on the second hand market you can get for about 650 bucks and there's quite a bit they offer here you're getting a 5.8 inch super red and xcr oled display so you are going to be getting all the benefits of oled and a much better looking screen compared to the iphone 10r and 11. you'll be getting the a13 bionic chip same as the iphone 11. three 12 megapixel cameras on the back a 3x zoom camera and wide an ultra wide camera the 12 megapixel front camera face id no lidar this time that's unique to the 12 pro 12 pro max and once again it is a great well-rounded phone with great specs for the price you can get that i actually think the blocking pro is one of the best iphone deals you can get right now simply because because of the amazing specs that you're getting with it including the super retina xpr oled display next up we have the iphone 10s from 2018 and as a sino i think 2018 is probably the oldest gear you should get for an iphone like i do not recommend you get something from 2017 or 2016 unless it's going to be super short-term use but honestly if you want something that's gonna last you maybe two years three years or even four years i think you're gonna want to get something that's newer so you're gonna get better software support and some of this more future proof than something that's safe from 2015 which you definitely should not buy 2059 phones but i think this tenant is a great deal of the prices you can get at that now on the secondary market which is why i'm recommending right here you're getting a 5.8 super rep now oled display it's not super retina xdr but it's still amazing it still has all the benefits of oled and it still looks better than this display on the iphone 10 11. also you're getting the a12 bionic chip which isn't as powerful and it probably won't last as long with software support i think it's still great for day-to-day usage you're also getting two full-length pixel cameras on the back a wide and a 2x telephoto camera you're getting a seven-megapixel front camera with the trio technology or bass id and once again it is a great well-rounded phone at the price i honestly think this is very comparable to some android phones you can get at a similar price maybe older flagships like samsung galaxy s10 or something like that which i think it's amazing value at the price point in fact my friend the apple professional on youtube actually recently bought an iphone 10s third place is only old 6s and he loves it so far so yeah definitely recommend it for anyone who's a much less expensive iphone but still wants some of the latest features and amazing performance those are the best iphones you can buy in 2021 i hope you enjoyed this video and found it helpful i hope this is the ultimate iphone buyer's guide for people in urban 2021 so if your friend is considering buying an iphone share this video so they can make a fun buying decision and i will see you in the next one [Music]
