you're gonna get to compounding you see there's this little secret that we're gonna let you in on when it comes to investing it's compound interest all right so before we get started with today's you so much thank you so much all right so let's go to the reason why you're all here today um so what is this secret and why is it so important what's crazy to me is it's not even really a secret it's mind-blowing how more people don't take advantage or know of what compound interest is so compound interest is the interest that you get on the interest you gained what maybe we should explain so interest is just a small percentage of what will be added to your funds that you have invested into something so think of it as a little reward that you get for trusting that bank or that stock with your money now compound interest is when you start making interest off of that interest that they already gave you so an example say you have one thousand dollars and you got it in the bank and you're getting a half a percent of interest rate on that thousand dollars just like the goldman sachs marcus savings account with that interest rate you would get a five dollar credit to your account every year for just holding your money there and let's just say for this hypothetical that you don't spend that five dollars you just work so hard for and you let it sit another year so now that next year you are now gaining interest on that thousand and five dollars instead so that five dollars is now making you even more interest than what you had before that's compound interest with that five dollars you made a profit of 25 cents now your new total at the end of the second year is going to be 1 000 10 and 25 cents and now you're probably wondering now what in the world is so important about 25 more cents well imagine if that uh interest rate was accelerated to say possibly seven percent and actually according to this um article from nerd wallet the stock market has an average return rate between eight and thirteen percent so imagining that something could give you a seven percent interest rate is definitely doable so starting over for that example of the one thousand dollars getting a seven percent return on one thousand dollars would give you a total return of seventy dollars your first year now your second year with the compound interest you would earn seventy four dollars and ninety cents now that brings your new total to one thousand one hundred forty four dollars and ninety cents for parking your little uh money car in their garage for two years exactly so imagine if you let that just build compound interest on it on its own and you didn't touch it for 20 years so imagine if you are 18 years old watching this video right now by the time you are 38 that initial thousand dollars investment is now 3868.69 now i bet you're still wondering well that's not that much money still for waiting 20 years for it to that we say okay well same scenario but instead of just letting that money ride for 20 years you start adding a hundred dollars a month on top of it instead of getting roughly thirty nine hundred dollars by the end of that time you would get a crazy amount wait for it fifty three thousand sixty four dollars twenty wait is still my thunder sorry but that's exciting to think about plus there are tons of other things out there that can outperform that seven percent by a significant amount uh well if that's impressive hold on onto your shorts another additive to the scenario let's say instead of the stock market we take that money and we put it in a good return mutual fund ppoax is a mutual fund that we have invested quite a bit of money into yeah so cpoax is a mutual fund of combination of different stocks such as amazon caravana square square and tons of others and the lifetime of that mutual fund has an average return rate of 13 wow so a thousand dollars invested initially after 20 years of waiting with a 13 interest return rate return that a thousand dollars into eleven thousand five hundred twenty three dollars and nine cents but with the monthly addition of a hundred dollars that would turn it into 108 659 and 28 cents hey i didn't feel good does it no no so that's the secret of compound interest and actually that secret is how the rich become richer and that's how you can become just like them so guys do your homework be sure to invest in stocks that are right for you pick what you like it needs to vibe it's kind of a vibe exactly so for instance if you want the new ps5 well why not spend some
