this video is about the use of quick keys both system quick keys and group quick keys on the unit in BCD 996 p2 scanner and here looking at the scanner you can see the quick key information flowing through as this thing goes through its scan mode down here in the bottom we've got the S which stands for the system group keys and you can see the numbers of the systems that are becoming active as they go through and down the bottom you can see the activity on the groups associated in the systems so there's a lot of information flowing through just in those two lines this is a diagram of the four systems I'm going to use to demonstrate how the quick keys work system one has is a police system it has two groups each group has a single repeater tied into it system two I'll be scanning EMS you know beast that will be set up into two groups each one with a single repeater the third system is a fire channel one group one repeater and then finally the fourth system is an amateur radio system it's got two groups Group one has multiple repeaters tied onto it and group 2 has a simplex frequency tied into it here's the system diagram with the system quick keys drawn in for system one I've chosen quick key number one for system two I've chosen quick key number two system three quick key number three and finally system for I've chosen quick key number 33 which forces me to work with two digit quick key numbers which is a little bit different than singles here I've drawn in the group quick keys and here on the first system one you can see Group one is quick key one group two is quick key two system to Group one is quick key one group two is quick key - you can reuse these numbers because these numbers on this on these two groups only relate to this system same thing here these only relate to this system on system three Group one gave it quick key number one and on system for Group one I gave it quick key number one and group two quick key number two this is the scanner diagram you previously saw it but it's being displayed in a software package called free scan which is available from radio reference comm it's a free software package this is all the information that was shown in the diagram it is a new system one two three and four and the various groups below them over here this one related to the first system you have the system quick key which is one which is also shown in parentheses if I go to the group group one is quick key one named frequency etc group two is group quick key number two nating frequency other information then you move on to system two...
