so you want to listen to what's happening on New Year's Eve when the ball drops listen I've been doing this for well over a decades it's very exciting and something that most of us can do right from home in our living rooms now what I like to do is watch the ball drop in Times Square because I'm in the New York City area right here on Long Island and if I listen to my scanner I can actually hear the directors of ABC TV giving the play-by-play and the cues and what to do and who's the next Guy online and what the next ACT is and when Ryan Seacrest should actually speak and I'm going to tell you how to do exactly the same thing now this may not transpose where you live exactly but if you're in a metropolitan area large metropolitan area or a large city this should work out very well for you so the first thing I recommend that you do is go to Radio Reference and you go to your area so being that I'm on Long Island we're going to use the New York City metro area as the example but I'm going to show you how this works for other locations as well so we're going to click on browse here in the database and I'm going to go to New York now the trick here is I'm not going to be searching by County I'm going to be searching by metro area so right here in the middle we are going to click on the New York City area and we're going to click on browse the next we're going to do is we're going to look for media in the New York City area so I'm going to click on media here again we've got media in New York City County I don't know why they call it New York City County and if we look we have radio and television now I know the Big Show that happens is on WABC this is the one that happens in Times Square that most people tune into so if I look at WABC on radio reference I will see that we have wac TV we have ABC Network queuing we also have TV chapter 77 um we also have other TV channels here too such as WCBS wnbc again assignment desks Citywide production and Engineering these are all frequencies we want to have in because there's another National event that also happens on wnbc now I'm sure there's other smaller ones that may also happen on other TV channels but this is the major channels in the New York City area Okay so these are the ones we want to look out for very simple and easy to look for now I also know that the big event that happens on channel 7 which is the Ryan Seacrest the Dick Clark Rocking New Year's Eve thing they have...
