what's going on guys john elder here from coding.com and in this video i'm going to show you how to use checkboxes with pyqt5 and python all right guys like i said in this video we're going to look at checkboxes but before we get started if you like this video you want to see more like and be sure to smash the like button below subscribe to the channel give me a thumbs up for the youtube algorithm and check out codeme.com we have dozens of courses with hundreds of videos that teach you to code use coupon code youtube1 to get 30 off membership that's all my courses videos and books one time fee is just 49 which is insanely cheap okay in the last couple of videos we looked at radio buttons in this video i want to look at check boxes and you can see with check boxes you can select one you can select more than one you can select none so we click this we didn't select any so it shows nothing we can do red we can do red and blue we can do just blue and we can do nothing so that's what we're going to look at in this video so head over to our terminal i'm in my cpi qt5 directory i've got my virtual environment turned on and let's start the designer we're going to build this out with the designer so we want to create a new window and let me just kind of resize this we don't need a very big app here all right so come over here to the left hand side find your check boxes and we can just grab a couple here and add them on here then we want a push button and we also want a label so i'll bring that down so for these check boxes i'm just going to come through here very quickly and kind of resize these just so it's a little bit easier to read this at 16. put this at 16. everything goes to 16. why not let's do the button too let's get crazy the label will put the 16. okay so for the size of these we can just sort of do it like this now all right this one is checkbox i'm going to change this to red underscore checkbox and we'll change this one to blue underscore checkbox just so they're different so we can reference them in the python code later on and let's change the text on these come down here to red and we'll change this one to blue and for our push button we'll have this say what submit something like that and for this guy we'll have him say pick a color something like that and come back up here to the size and there we go okay so let me play around with this a little bit i spelled color wow getting off to a...
