hello there this is the bookkeeping master on YouTube I've been doing a lot of these very short but powerful videos lately about sage instant and sage 50 accounts and in this video I wanted to teach you something there not many people know about a certain rapport and sage being the aged debtors report by edge creatives report and let me show you what I'm talking about as to the age debtors so we go to customers go to reports it may take a minute to load there we go aged debtors reports let's just do the aged debtors summary and we'll preview this reports click OK and here we are so this is the aged debtors report on your aged debtors report sometimes you have the credit limit for each customer we have a customer list here their credit limits some reports you have their turnover but more importantly you have the balance of their account and then you have a column for current period one period to period three and older now this is the bit that confuses a lot of people and is misunderstood by a lot what these periods are and what this current is and let me demonstrate to you what it means if we go to your settings at the top go to customer defaults and click on the aging label here under this tab it shows us which or what each period refers to in length of days so age period one is 30 to 59 days jus from the date of the invoice age period to sixty to eighty nine days age period three is 90 to 119 days one one nine and then age period is a hundred and twenty days plus so let's bring that report back up secured one is 32:59 period two is sixty to eighty nine period three is ninety to one hundred nineteen and then the older is the period fork which is a hundred and twenty days plus now the data I have on this sage is very old so everything's come under one hundred and twenty days plus anything that's current is under thirty days so you could have a level line here which would say some like current debt or not overdue and that would be everything under thirty days the reason this is thirty days is the default on Sage for trading terms is thirty days but it could be that you're trading terms of your customers are thirty-five days or 60 days or 14 days so let's say it's 14 days so we would want anything from the date of the invoice to 14 days under current and then let's say 14 to 30 or 14 to 28 under period one such change this as to 15 thanks wanna be 29 so that would be 15 to 28 then we could do 29 to 32 says do 33 in there and then we could do 60 days plus say I'm...
