hi guys it's Nixon again from zip scanners where we make scanning easy with free shipping no taxes and lifetime technical support from experts like me today I wanted to talk about the difference between having your scanner professionaly programmed by us versus using the zip code feature that these new phase 2 scanners have this enables you to start listening to what's going on in your area I get asked this question a lot so I wanted to make this video to explain the differences and show you why I highly recommend having your scanner programmed by our technicians especially after you purchase your scanner from us now a quick disclaimer if you are experienced scanner user this video is not for you you can stop watching now this is intended for those that are new and inexperienced when it comes to scanners so let's get started note the two scanners I have here are both TRX ones one is labeled program and the other is labeled zip code I want to start off with the scanner program simply by typing in the zip code then I'll talk about the program scanner here and my features and what's happening with this scanner so right away with the TRS one to utilize this zip code feature you simply go into the menu here go down to set location hit select and where you see by zip code is where you'll you'll want to go just hit select and simply put in your zip code now I've already done this and I don't want to take the time to import so I'll show you what happens when you once you finish all that and start scanning now what you'll notice that it's going through a lot of frequencies and the reason why that is is in my area there's over a thousand plus channels and this pretty much uploaded all those and so it's going to take a little bit more time to scan in general and with this programmed TR x1 which I did you'll notice when you start scanning there's only about 500 frequencies and what they're programmed with ours very specific frequencies these are things that I actually want to hear and so what you'll notice is with the zip code you're going to get a lot more frequencies things that you really don't want to listen to perfect examples like the dog catcher Public Works garbage sanitation water just those type of things and with having it programmed by us we filter all that so you don't have any of that you don't get into that you just get the good stuff meaning the Police Fire EMS State Patrol that's pretty much what people want to listen to so we get that taken care for you I'm going to play these two side-by-side and simultaneously just so you can kind of get the differences of what's happening you can see it too now that doesn't mean that...
