today an emergency radio review everyone today we're going to be looking at this cc solar observer am fm weather solar emergency radio this was a gift from my brother-in-law some close to 10 years ago now i think they're still manufacturing this radio for good reason it's a very very nice capable emergency radio so let's uh you can take a look here it's features and pause and read whatever you want let's uh just jump right in open it up i've obviously had it out many times but i did keep the paperwork in the box set that aside for now okay let's get this locked in a little better there so here we are it's a pretty good sized radio uh you can see immediately it's am and fm along with weather band most of the radios that i like have shortwave as well but this uh while lacking that makes up for it in other areas one uh major way is just quality of construction um they just make a very quality radio cc makes a number of different types of radios and they're all pretty high quality c crane company what does it take three double a batteries it has a rechargeable also i have noticed that the rechargeable battery pack included with it after 10 years of ownership is no longer holding a charge very well i've looked at replacing it it's a little bit pricey to replace that battery pack so um haven't bitten the bullet on that yet but i i may sometime in the in the near future it still does run on aaa batteries and it'll hold a little bit of a charge it has this crank dynamo so you can you know charge it that way it also has and then when you do that even with the old battery pack it'll play for several minutes the radio will certainly and it has a solar panel little tiny solar to charge the battery pack or just to run the uh the radio off of it it'll it'll run just fine uh with the battery pack even probably well spent the battery pack spent if this is in direct sunlight i do that often um even in our loft that has a non-uv blocking uh old window and with the light coming in i can i can get the radio to play continuously just using that i don't know if there's any charge in it or not i want to say probably not another feature led a kind of a emergency flashlight does have a headphone jack um has a a out port for a phone charger and it came with a little comedy here it came with a couple of different the paperwork says the more common phone charger adapters uh none of these are in use currently i don't even know what some of these are for maybe a old sony or an old nokia phone i'm not...
