[Music] before you are ready to scan there are several tasks that will need to be complete this includes configuring your scanner training center staff and some other one-time setup tasks please go to help help index and click the link for scanning attendance worksheet instructions this document will guide you through all of the setup tasks that you'll need to do before you start scanning when you have received your first week's worth of forms you are ready to scan first go to scanning scan choose your scanner from the list if you are scanning with a network scanner meaning that the scanner is not directly hooked up to your computer you'll need to set up the scanner settings directly on your scanner screen or in the scanner software not in cx although it probably won't look exactly like the screen in this demonstration it will be similar this demonstration shows how to set up a local scanner in cx there are five main scanner settings that must be set in order to scan correctly first the scanner may need to be configured to use a document feeder rather than a flatbed so that you can scan more than one page at a time second you must scan to black and white not color third the paper size must be set to scan letter size paper which is eight and a half by eleven next you must set a minimum of 400 dpi to get to this option on your scanner you may have to click a link like this or go to another tab depending on the brand or type of scanner that you have set the scanner to 400 dpi if that's an option if 400 is not an option you may have to choose a higher dpi like 600 and finally the scanner must be set to scan to a tiff image if you do not have that option on this screen you may have to go into your scanner software to set that as a default one thing that you can do to make scanning easier is to set up a profile for cx scanning open your scanner software and see if you can create a profile that will allow you to save all of these settings at once and you can usually choose to set this as a default at least during the time that you are scanning cx forms and if you have any questions please go to help contact minutemenu technical support and we'll be happy to assist you
