hey what's up YouTube started make a quick video on how to program a RadioShack Pro 197 digital truckin scanner gonna be programming Kentucky State Police into it if you're not sure Kentucky State Police use a digital system it is a pro 25 compliant however it is not a trunking system therefore when you program it into the scanner you have to program it under conventional frequency so right now the scanner is just in scan mode doing this thing first thing you want to do is press program alright then it pops up this little screen right here right above your soft keys which soft keys are the F 1 F 2 F 3 right above those you're gonna press new so hit F 1 then it says select object type to create this is where a lot of people mess up to include myself when I first got it most people want to put it under a talker because it's a p25 system however because it is not trucking you're gonna put it under conventional so press f2 my first thing you'd ask for is which scan list you want just for demonstration purposes I'm gonna put mine under scandalous none so right now about default scandalous one is selected you see the little asterisk next to it press the Select key the Astra will disappear scroll over to which scan list that you want it to be under again I'm gonna choose not once you've chose the scan list number that you want press select again BAM you got your ashtray you're now on scan list not go down to frequency press select alright now it's ready for you to type in the frequency just so happens the frequency I'm gonna be using the closest tower to me is four six zero dot one six two five zero once you've typed into frequency press the Enter key I frequency is entered now you drop down to tag press select scroll over to the end of it by default it's going to name every tag channel you want to clear that out and then you want to name it whatever that frequency happens to be so ours is a KSP so I'm gonna name mine KSP alright KSP and then once you're done with that you're gonna press the soft key f1 and you're done alright your tag is in there now you drop down to SQ mode this is where you tell the scanner that it's a p25 system use your arrows and scroll over until you see p25 alright once you get just hit the down I P 25 neck I'm not sure if you can get by without an AK or not honestly I think you can if you leave it on search but I know my neck which is one h6 so I'm gonna hit the right arrow alright now it's ready for me to enter it won 8-6 alright now once you've...
