hey what's up everyone we are back again with another video today doing something a little bit different we're not opening cards but we're doing something related to cards and it's pretty fun hobby that my kids and I have picked up over this past year and I wanted to share it with you I've had a few people ask me how do you do tea TMS how do you get autographs through the mail obviously that's what TTM stands for so I thought I'd throw a little video together and show you the first step is to pick someone who you want to send your cards to to have them signed a lot of people send baseballs or basket balls or jerseys those kinds of things I haven't done anything like that yet I'm strictly sticking to cards so this is my version of of what I do 40 TMS but the first thing you do is find someone who you want to send your car to now it's sort of hit and miss and you can you your favorite player might not sign autographs through the mail a great first step is to go to sports card forum dot-com sign up there create a user account and then you can search through their TTM database where they give addresses for thousands and thousands of celebrities and sports stars those sorts of things and that's the first step sports card form com sign up and then start searching for the people you want to send to there are a few people that sign everything all the time there are some people that sign things that require money we're gonna talk about one here that does for instance this is one I recently got back from Wade Boggs I don't think he needs any any introduction one of the best baseball players of all time he actually signs really well probably the the top TTM signer out there and but he does require a donation so we sent a few bucks off sent a couple cards and we got back this unbelievable signature and there's some people that well these are the last few ones that I just grabbed these last few because I have several and I just wanted to get some good autographs to show you here and there's some people that don't require on donations for instance oil can Boyd Dennis Boyd you just send carts to his address and write a note which we'll talk about in a second and he sent and signed the card back so it's pretty fantastic another one which I sent a donation for as well was Ryan Sandberg some of these guys that are you know greats they're all stars they're Hall of Famers they are connected with charities and so they asked for small donation and the benefit is it goes toward their charity and you get back with a super-rad autograph and so things like this just really excite me and my kids that's why we started doing T teams but to answer the question how do you go about doing T teams it's simple go to sports car form com sign up find the address of your favorite player or someone you want to send a car to and get started for me I created an envelope this one is going to paul molitor old Milwaukee Brewer great and then I put my return address up here his address down there I also print this fancy little please do not bend envelope and then I attach it with a 70 cent stamp not just a $0.49 forever stamp a 70 cent stamp and the reason why is I'll tell you in a minute so that's what I do I get the envelope ready and then I create a return envelope which has my address as the sender and my address as the receiver and then I put a $0.49 forever stamp a little American flag stamp right there on the corner and and this is why I do I fold it up into three sections like this and then I take my cards like this I stick them inside here fold it up and then put it inside the envelope like this as well as the letter which we'll talk about now and then I write a letter so today's date it's February 16 2018 I say dear so-and-so whoever I'm riding to and I say I wanted to write to you and say and this is where I personalized the letter so for mister Molitor I would say something about how I love watching him play over the years in Milwaukee about how my favorite team is the Cleveland Indians and how he would always used to come and when we play Cleveland or he the Brewers would play Cleveland he would always seem to dominate and and destroy us and all hit homeruns and all that kind of stuff so whatever you want to say there it's really it's really where you connect with them and you basically are their cheerleader you're saying you you want to build it up to say how great they are and that you loved watching them play and I just say simple line I loved your dedication to the game it to all of us fans thank you for sharing your gift with us just a simple thank you for being who you are basically and this is the most important part and then I write this and I stayed the same thing to everyone that we send this to and I say I know you are busy and I'm incredibly grateful for the time you have taken to read this letter is this is a big THANK YOU because now we're gonna ask something and I say I've included a few cards and I'm requesting your autograph if possible with they're not required to send us an autograph so I'm saying if possible I would love to get your autograph back I say my kids and I have started collecting autographs of our favorite players and we love to add yours to our collection I've included a self-addressed stamped envelope for your convenience and then in the letter however you wish and I always sign it the reason why I do a type letter is because I have terrible handwriting that no one can read and I don't think that's an issue some people say you got a sign or you got to fill out your letter by hand other people say it doesn't matter for me personally I haven't had or I've had a lot of success and I've never written a No by hand thus far so I think this is a great way if you want to write an O by hand even better but if not a type-1 is good especially if you're sending a higher volume type them out no big deal and then lastly I obviously fold the letter and put it inside the envelope that way once they receive the letter they open it up they take out the cards they take out the letter it's simple it's all laid out obviously I don't have a stamp but there would be a stamp on there and it's all laid out simple for them all they need to do sign the cards open it back up and then reseal the envelope now these envelopes are pretty fantastic I buy them we have a store called the Dollar Tree from my area and it's basically where you can get cheap supplies and that's exactly what i do we get 30 envelopes for a dollar and you don't even have to lick them you just peel them off so this is a great cheap way to send these envelopes so that's the returned this is my letter and my envelope to him it's pretty important that you also put do not bend you can write it on there or whatever but you want to make the post office know that this is pretty important and you want them to take it handle it with care so one last thing I would say because I do cards primarily I don't send jerseys or anything yet I might in the future but not right now the big thing for me is I look for four clean cards that are not busy at all there they're very light and they have they don't have a dark background where the player is not wearing a dark jersey now there's times where you're not going to be able to you know maybe you have a favorite player and and as a newer player or something where the cards are just not as as light as these cards are it's fine but these cards tend to show better when they're signed for instance this Wade Boggs is is really light and blurred in the background and it's really super easy to see his autograph right there plain and simple now the Ryan Sandberg is the same sort of way I mean it's a little bit darker in the background but you can see that autograph really really well it's just really beautiful and the oil can Boyd the same way I mean it's really light and simple and however you want to do it that's great but I choose to find players and use cards that are really simple and that an autograph would really pop out and stand that stand out so that's basically it you just want to make sure you have your ducks in a row and find who you want to send them to and just send them off and the best part is is when you receive these it's like Christmas in the mail you get you get one of these things back that's stamped and my kids and I it's like oh man who's it gonna be we always see a return address and even New Mexico or Texas or something and and then we always we always take a guess on who that person is gonna be so it's a fun time it's a fun hobby and I would highly suggest you doing it if you haven't already check out my other videos I open cards boxes hobby cards retail cards I'll just
