hi and welcome to clapia in this video i will explain how to get data from another application what i have here is a t-shirt ordering application it has three sections select t-shirt customer details and total cost the first section select t-shirt has get data from other app blog once i click on this block here i would see all the t-shirts that's available and i can make a particular selection and the details of that t-shirt is automatically populated in these blocks you can see once i choose the number of t-shirts the cost of the section is also calculated the cost is calculated using the formula block and if you want to understand that i would suggest that you watch the video on formula block the block get data from other app can be used when we want data from another application in clapia's workplace we can configure our application for checking inventory status and to create a dynamic drop down whose drop down values keeps increasing this particular application t-shirt ordering is collecting details from another application which is t-shirt stock master application once i click on submission on this you can see the list of submissions that's already made into this app and this app is fetching those details from the master app if you can understand this there is a master application and another user application the master application gets data from let's say four different warehouses and now the user application makes a search in the master application for the data if it is available the data is written to the user application and ultimately the data goes down to the customer let us look at how to add this block into your application what i'm going to do now is to edit the app and to delete this particular block okay so let's go back and add this block into your application get data from other apps appears under data processing blocks so once you click on it on the right panel you would be able to name it okay now i'm going to be letting the block know from where the information is going to be collected i have many applications here i'm going to be choosing t-shirt stock master app once i do so i need to also tell the block what are the fields it's going to make a search upon let's say it can search upon store as of now based on that store i want it to pull information of the t-shirt type a brand name and size let me quickly go ahead and click on save and you can see the remaining fields the t-shirt type brand and size has been automatically populated i'm going to click on view app so once i do so and i click on choose t-shirt i can see the store information that's being listed here now i'm going to go back and edit this application and make few changes to the selections that i made so here i'm gonna say let it select or display all the options once i do so i can pull fields based on the selection that i made let's say go for the store and also for the price if i go back to my master application some of the t-shirts are out of stock and i do not want this information to be displayed in my application and hence under the status filter i'm going to choose in stock and click on save so let's go back and click on view app in this case once i click on choose t-shirts i will be able to make a dynamic search for all the options available in the database of t-shirt stock master app so if i wanted to look for polo t-shirts only the moment i type polo i'm going to get only polo t-shirts are i can choose the brand name and it's going to show me t-shirts only from that particular brand let's go back to edit application on the right we also see an option known as a dynamic filter okay so i have created a drop down for the dynamic filter let me go back to the block get data from other app under that i'm going to enable a dynamic filter i'm going to choose a column in my master app which is teacher type i'm going to connect that particular field with a field in my application which is the user application and i'm going to say choose style okay and click on save remember that the entries in the drop down created for dynamic filter needs to match the names in the database of the master application now let's go ahead and click on view app in here i can click on choose style and then go for choosing a t-shirt and you can see the list that shows up here are only striped t-shirts and i can choose a v-neck t-shirt and only v-neck t-shirts would show up here you can either do that or directly choose a t-shirt in this video we have looked at how to add get data from another application block what are the uses of it how it works and how to enable dynamic filters and we also understood how our user app is connected to the master application that's it for this video if you have any more questions you can always chat with us or schedule a call and we would call you back to help you further thank you for your patience goodbye
