Send renter text
hello there my name is Craig with through text and this is our through text text or training video in this video I'm gonna show you how to send text messages using through text your through text assignment we'll start with you getting an email to get going just click on the link in the email and that will load up the through text texting interface you will see when it loads up that there are three main sections to the through text interface on the left side you will have the list of people that you will be texting the middle is where your conversations are going to take place and it includes the message content box where you can type what you want to say to your contacts over on the right-hand side you'll see the information about your campaign assignment this is where you're texting administrators will share information about your assignment eventually after you've sent out all your initial messages this panel will also include the tools that you will need to respond and collect data you're texting administrators have loaded the initial message for your assignment as you can see it's going to be identical for each person you are texting and it is going to fill in their name each time so as you can see it says hi name this is Tony with Bartlet for president there's an event near you this Saturday to kick off our campaign can you make it I'm gonna go ahead and send each of these messages all you have to do is press the send button on each one the recipient is gonna get it like any other text message on their phone when you're done sending the messages it'll say inbox 0 great job you cleared your inbox now you'll be notified by email if you receive any new replies and now we're going to wait for the responses some of the responses are going to come right away some might come in an hour and sometimes recipients don't respond for even a whole day so here we have our first responses you have the ability to sort them by status activity or name it's really up to you and your preference you can see over here on the right our tools have shown up the information we saw before is now a tab on the far right and we have two new tabs for surveys and replies the surveys tab houses our survey questions which is how you record data the replies tab is where we have our saved replies there are two types of save replies for you to use there are the recommender replies which are written by your admins and their my replies which are the ones written by you within those two types of replies there are two more there campaign-specific recommender replies which are just for this campaign but there is also global recommender replies which are used for all campaigns across your organization if you click on the reply one time it will show you what it says above the message content box you can see that the opt-out and archive buttons have appeared we'll talk about what those do in a minute on the left side you can see that there's some blue dots showing up by people's names this means that they have a message that hasn't been responded to let's look at Joan's response so I can show you how to respond and record data Jonas said sure what time is it ad so first things first we're going to record her response as a yes in the surveys tab then I'm gonna go click over to my replies tab and see that I have one for people who say yes after I click on it you'll see that it gives her the information for the event to use this recommended reply I can either click the message that I dropped down or I can click the plus sign here as you get moving along and are more familiar with the replies you can avoid the drop down and just click the plus sign once you do that you'll see that it's drop down the reply into the message content box you want to make sure it looks good and then you can click send once you do that you'll see that Joan's name has dropped down to the bottom and the blue dot has gone away so Katherine has said that she is interested but would like more details we record her as a maybe to start and then jump over to replies the yes option seems like it will work for the most part but it means a little bit of tweaking if we select it and put it into the message box we can then edit the last part to say will we see you there rather than see you there and then we can send her our new message now let's look at the one for Daniel Daniel says I can't make it is there anything else I can do to help so I'll recollect his response and surveys as a No and I'll also check him office yes on future events as he seems like someone who is interested in helping out in the future I could then go over to my replies I see that I have two different no responses that I can use but based on Daniel's question about helping out in other ways the future events response seems like it would be a good fit dropping it down we can see that it says that we will make sure he is on the list for future events and that seems like a good response so we'll click the plus and use it with Emily's response it says you have the wrong number can you take me off your list now this is going to happen especially because we are texting a lot of people the way you handle this is with the opt-out button I'm gonna click opt-out also you'll see that I have the option here of sending Emily a message at the same time as opting her out in this case the message would say so sorry about that we'll take you off the list right now I hope you have a great rest of your day we recommend that you send someone a message for knocking them out but in some cases where it doesn't seem appropriate or the person might not appreciate it you could uncheck the box here and it will take that away I'm gonna click Submit to finalize this opt-out it's really important that you complete the opt-out by submitting by opting out it means that Emily is not going to get any more messages from your organization and you can see that her name got removed from the contact list on the left now we can see that Katherine has written us back she says great I'm in can I bring a friend first we can go into the surveys and switch her from a maybe to a yes then we can go over to replies I don't have a great response already written by the admins so I have a couple options here one I could write a one-off response in the message content box or two if I anticipate that I might get this question again I can write my own save reply to do this go to add a custom reply I can then select if I want this to be just for this campaign or a global reply across all the campaigns and I might work on if I fill as an answer to a common question in this case the question is about why they should vote for measure Z so I'm going to keep it as a campaign save reply then I'm gonna give it a title let's call it bring a friend reply and in the body section here I'm going to say of course the more the merrier now I'll click Save that's my own save reply that I can use and I can send it here in my replies drop-down I can click the plus sign and send that off to Katherine now let's say that I'm done with a conversation let's look at Joan's conversation again she said she's coming to our event I've replied with the event details and I've recorded all the data now I want to keep my cue clean so I'm only dealing with active conversations so I'm gonna use the archive button by clicking the archive button it's going to remove this conversation from my cue now don't worry if Joan replies back the conversation will reappear back into my cue but for right now it lets me just focus on active conversations now let's talk about the device you'll use to access your through text assignments as you can tell from the video our layout is designed around desktop or laptop computers but don't worry you can use a phone or tablet to complete your assignments as well through text can be used on any phone or tablet device either iOS or Android everything will be there just a little shrunken down you just use your devices web browser no need to download an app so those are the basics of sending messages in through text good luck and happy texting you
