today you will be learning how to send an attachment you learnt about viruses and malware in your first computing lesson today it's very important to be mindful of these when opening email attachments because attachments can contain viruses and these are designed to cause damage to your computer remember our smart rules from last week in particularly the a for accepting you must think very carefully before you click on or open something online this can be links adverts friend requests or photos you don't know where they have come from and they can be potentially very dangerous do not accept something if you are unsure of who the person is or what they have sent you take a look at these example messages it's likely that they are from hackers or they are spoof emails and they are also likely to contain viruses if you see a message like this which looks a bit strange or too good to be true or the email sender looks odd then it's likely that it is so do not open it and remember your smart targets okay so today i'm going to show you how to compose an email and attach something to it so sign into your emails in purple mash and head over to the compose button now then if you look along the bottom you can see a button which says attach file so click on here and then you can go to your work folder and what i'd like you to do is choose your favorite piece of work something that you are really proud of it might be from this term or last term it's completely up to you something that you've um from one of your lessons so you would click on that i don't have any work here but i do have a photo of my two dogs so i'm going to attach this so if you would also like to you can attach a photo of your pets maybe some baking you did maybe a picture you painted um maybe some your bean plant if you like it's completely up to you so you can choose two things a picture and something that you've done um some work alternatively um besides your work you could paint a picture for me so i'll just show you how it works so you'd paint a lovely picture in here click ok and then it'll pop up along the bottom with your other attachment now then we need to write the email so remembering what we learned last week about writing an email we need to include a greeting to miss dawson and then we need to include why we're emailing i am emailing you to send you a picture of my best work and also a photograph of my dogs and then i'd like you to explain why you've chosen that piece of work so let's say we have chosen our free right um from last week which is about snow white i have chosen my snow white story because i worked really hard on this and didn't need any help so you can go back and make sure you've spelt things correctly b c a u e um i included printed adverbials and used ambitious vocabulary to make my story interesting and then you can tell me about the second attachment as well i have also attached photo of my two dogs they are called ziggy and roxy and they are cockapoos and then if you wanted to ask me a question as well you can you can ask me if i have pets or if i like baking or something related to the or to your other attachment and then we need to close our email so you can say from and then you can pop your name here okay so remember you need to search for me which is a dawson and then your subject remember we want this to be short and clear so it might be my favorite piece of work and my pets or whatever it is that you are attaching it doesn't need to be pets lovely and then when you are happy with it you can head down to the bottom and click send and then if you want to check that it's send click on your sent box and you will see it there and you're done
