hello joan 1 students i hope that you're hearing me loud and clear now i'm really sorry about the um the soundless silent movie unfortunately when i set up all of my stuff when we rotated back to campus something went wrong somewhere along the line anyway so here is your sub assessment briefing please note that it is due from november 2nd to november 4th that is three days not five days that you have so the monday to the wednesday you have to submit your sap that's very important secondly this is a really really straightforward easy friendly sup so don't don't stress about it too much firstly you have to find five examples of attribution in your local news media and quote each example and reference it academically so go to your newspaper find five examples of where the journalist has used journalistic attribution quote it in quotation marks and then use your academic referencing so brackets surname year of publication for each one please make sure that you don't use writer if it's written by a staff writer for your reference rather just find another article that has a surname and a name that you can actually reference okay and the the name by the way is the author of the of the article that you're quoting okay so don't just put um i don't know daily news or something like that it has to be the byline of the journalist that you use in your reference and then at the end of the assessment in your list of references then you put the full reference for each one of your five examples that you have used so that's uh let's see five examples one mark each for the examples and one mark each for the references make sure that you remember to put each reference example in quotation marks otherwise you will get the plagiarism penalty 1.2 as a journalist you will be required to interview a wide variety of people for different purposes sometimes they'll sit down with you over a coffee and talk about their lives and achievements and ambitions sometimes they'll not be willing to answer any questions from the press and you will need to try and provoke a response from them with your questions sometimes you will need to speak to a large number of different sources to get a general idea of what people are thinking about an event or topic so there is no set list of questions to ask and you will have to figure out how to get the best results from the time that you have with each source so for each different type of interview question write a list of five potential questions for the man on the street interview and please remember to reference academically because all of these terms you have learned from filak you didn't come to college knowing about men on the street interviews and hostile interviews and all of that so every time you use a term from the textbook or piece of theory from the textbook you just put in that little in-text reference feelak 20 whatever it is 19 and the page number okay make sure that your questions reflect the particular function of the interview style in other words don't give me a list of five generic questions that you can use across the board for well that you think you can use across the board for all three types of interviews that's not what i'm looking for i'm looking for specifically designed questions that envision you being in a particular scenario like you know interviewing people on the street for their general opinions on whatever something that's happened recently um oh what was i going to say oh yes if you feel that the scenario that you are envisioning might add value contextually to your questions then just write down like jot down a couple of sentences saying i imagined that i might be asked to do this and therefore these are these are my potential questions um if you feel that your questions aren't self-ex explanatory uh yeah that's pretty much it for technical you've got 10 marks please make sure that you do not litter your assessment with errors typos spelling errors grammar syntax punctuation whatever and make sure that at the end of your assessment there is that reference list with all of your sources okay that's very important here is your rubric like i said basic basic easy friendly get on it finish it send me your draft and remember to have it in at least your draft in to me for review before the end of the day on the 29th i will not be looking at drafts over the weekend and i certainly won't be looking at drafts during submission time so get it in before that if you are serious about pricing this course i'm serious about you passing this course but i cannot do the work for you that is entirely up to you so please do the work send it through and we'll work together okay thanks guys until we see each other again take care stay safe and yeah love you bye
