alright hello everyone and welcome to another episode of the enthusiasts experiment it is that time of year where you might be peeking in here already I just opened it to make life a little easier on camera but field notes released another one of their quarterly editions this is for the summer of 2016 it is the byline edition it was made in or I guess made with the help of John Dickerson a well-known reporter which you can find a really great video on field notes website which will be in the link below per usual and there's not really much to say about this other than it's their first reporters notebook that I'm aware of and it's wire bound which will see everything in here in a second but kind of reminiscent of what I use on this show quite a bit is this guy but but a lot smaller so I think I'll have something to to use instead for my handy dandy notes alright so let's get into it I already cut it open but what you see is what I got haven't cut them open yet but we get to which is a little bit of a surprise got a handy sticker which I'm stoked on cuz I love all the free stuff thanks field notes and a pen which if you guys are familiar with my videos or getting the field most packages yourselves you'll know they get a ton of pens and pencils so I have a billion of these things laying around it would be cool if I could put different cartridges in it I haven't tried that yet but there you go so what we will do is we'll set one aside there's that back for you I'll set this over to the side here as well and we'll crack one open and I'll save one because you guys know I like to use these things so let's get it open slippery bugger and I don't have my knife on me there we go okay cool and what's really nice actually I didn't know I mean I guess that makes sense because they usually give you two three paksas than normal for the the colors edition so that this is too two packs so I guess that makes sense it'd be cool to have three but I that's a little greedy I guess for something of this size and magnitude and cost you know because it obviously these are probably a little more expensive than the traditional field notebooks all right so there you go there's a look at the front maybe I'll put it this way so you can see the whole thing all at one time let's see give you a little bit of time there and then the back pretty plain and then on the inside you'll see traditional field note style of all the fun stuff on the inside cover and then a look at so they did have this spiraling oh it's exposed on the back but not on the front so that's nice it won't get caught if you throw it in your pocket this way that's pretty cool nice touch folds over really nicely SuperDuper easy lays flat really nice you have a little bit of an overhang there but that's alright which actually shows their subject so that's kind of cool I guess hope you want to look at a glance sorry if my head got in the way there and then you can see the style of ruling there they're all the same I believe yep and then there's a nice little pocket on the back here to which they showing the pictures on the website I'm not sure if they showed in the video and then it just has a nice little story that was also put together by and there you go yeah pretty straightforward I'm excited to use these doesn't look like they are preffer ated or anything not that you can really see their own video but yeah so I mean I'm sure you could tear them out pretty easily I'm not going to yet because I intend on using these but yeah there you go first look quick unboxing sorry I haven't been around as much as I was but I will again I promise I miss seeing you guys and talking about some cool stuff I have a few video ideas lined up so stay tuned for those and yeah please like subscribe and share the videos with your fellow enthusiasts so that we can grow this channel together until next time take it easy
