because the printer has gone wonky of course it has because i've got a few i've got like seven more journals to print and four cookbooks he's got four cookbooks to print excuse me and the printer's not working so he's trying to call everybody all over the world trying to figure out we don't have a receipt for when we bought he doesn't have the actual receipt anyway he's over here oh bless he says this isn't what i planned for tonight so he's supposed to be going to bed right now thank you thank you for working on the printer oh my goodness hello to everybody i don't i hope you can hear me with these little things i i put it in because i thought it wouldn't bother him but that was dumb because i'm still talking so that doesn't make sense makes me feel professional or something i don't know y'all i'm dog tired i have had a day today of full of homeschooling and and all the things and so i wanted to i can't what are you saying okay look this signifies you can't talk because i can't starting my seeds from a spring garden okay well all i did as far as gardening is replanted my sage today trimmed my english ivy and topped it with some potting soil and i'm trying to grow ginger i'm trying to grow ginger and i grew some it rooted not rooted i don't know if a rhizome or whatever roots but it grew sprouts and then fall happened and i brought it in the house and i have it with some ferns that i may or may not have illegally brought from a state park in florida um so anyway i got all that together in one pot so i'm trying to get my ginger going again because i hate to buy it for um you know juicing and cooking and stuff so i'm trying to grow ginger so that's what i did today regarding um gardening gardening and we did our homeschooling all the homeschooling and we're doing the prairie primer curriculum or how little house on the prairie so that's fun and um kids had online piano lessons today and uh and then little miss homemaker also every wednesday she does this she's a mother's helper through facetime with a mother in on the west coast not our family it's a non-family member so she does that so my computer was tied up all day a good part of the day with all what i just said and i wasn't able to film a video or i didn't have my computer so i could edit it if i did film it so i thought i'm just going to come to y'all live i'm going to talk about a few things i do want to answer questions about the journal but also down below i have um how to oh you're not he's not getting anywhere with them okay um also down below i've got how to subscribe to the first issue and then how to subscribe for the year now we're having problems because we're having it's like lighter and certain place i don't know it's not a toner problem he's got new toner a new drum whatever that is and so that's what he's over here trying to figure out the printer issues because he bought an extended warranty and he didn't keep his receipt and now he's called four or five different places and apparently we're not going to be able to they're not going to honor the warranty because we can't prove we bought it so um so anyway i've got some things to point out about the journal and i want to tell you the top five i think this is fun the top five states that ordered the introductory issue we have 35 i think it is states now and three countries not counting the us so um hello pecan hey to ever hey jessica you got that new last name congratulations on the marriage hey miss claire uh yeah ginger is i'm working on it okay um all right well hey lisa there okay so um all of the journals except these are the orders i've got just in the past two days so i've filled those and then i have actually that's not all i have seven more i have to um prepare and then i have one lady who bought 10 of them for her store to put in her store um so i'm excited y'all um the fact i'm not really hyper about this does not mean i'm not excited just means i'm tired but i'm so so excited to now get this in your hands um so a few questions if you have questions you can ask but is it too late to get the first issue of the journal uh that's yes and no no it's not too late excuse me i'm gonna honor any um um mailed in payment that is postmarked by the end of january postmarked i know it might take a while to get here um or any payment that's made with venmo or paypal um by the end of january having said that we are fighting with the printer like while ago i was able to get two copies printed off decent so we're doing our best and i'll find an alternative if i need to i don't know what that'll be but anyway so um so yeah so there's that's the first issue um then i have um and and this this is the on the front of this one is how to subscribe for the year and um i have the publication dates so what i decided to do is i'm going to um offer this lord willing assuming it it's you know here around every year it keeps on going i will offer it um every other month because i woke up the other morning and i thought every quarter is a little bit too long from paper to paper and every month i can't deal so uh it would be on a regular year it'll be january and then march and then may and so forth so this year is different because we're putting out this intro issue okay so this is extra this is not included in your yearly subscription it's just an intro and so you're um i guess you could say the first issue technically of your um yearly subscription would be in february that makes if that's not clear you can ask me but so february march may july september november are the dates for this year and then next year we'll start january march may and so forth um i didn't want to um it's going to be too confusing for me to do a per issue charge so from this point on after the intro it's a yearly subscription and say you jump in at the middle of the year then it'll be to the middle of next year so it's a lot to keep up with it has been a lot but it has been a blessing oh my goodness i can't believe the um the interest has been incredible and i'm so thrilled and thankful um but remember this is your paper so if you don't submit i i'm not my idea was not for me to write this whole paper by myself it's about community um if you don't submit then it won't last past this year because it's it's it's for you so there are five ways to subscribe for the year and they doesn't cost anymore as far as a stamp goes um the envelopes i think cost seven cents a piece i think he said so that adds to art you know suspense plus his heart and um and then the weight because we can only keep it at an ounce but um i think this is a little under an ounce even with the i know it is even with the envelope so i'm gonna be able to go up i think i'm gonna be able to add one maybe two pages for the future paper so that's good to know it'll be a little bit more i'll talk to you later come here okay okay he's waiting on dad to say his nighttime prayers so um and dad's on the issue goes out february 22nd that sounds like a long ways off but i've learned when you're writing a paper and you have a printer that's got pms and you never know when pms is going to hit or whatever printers have then you better be prepared so i've already started the paper but i have got a crossword puzzle to put on the back it's already on the back so i'm excited about that edition so this will be in an envelope it won't be torn up and my idea was you would be able to um they would have valuable information and you could reference um and you'd be able to just store this on a shelf or whatever um or use it in your compost i don't know but you would be able to store it because it's got the volumes and all the things i don't know if he's laughing at me or the person toilet paper he just said you could use it for toilet paper okay oh nice thanks i have shortage um some i do too miss mary um some folks that i mailed theirs monday a week ago the patrons haven't gotten it yet but some folks i mailed theirs mr patient mailed them saturday non-patrons and they've gotten them so you know i don't know i'm doing it's okay it's okay okay i wanted to talk about um oh i wanted to make sure that you know about news from i can't stress enough you're gonna get tired of me singing this is your community paper and if you don't submit we don't we got no paper you know what i mean so um mr patient probably thinks i've got enough words to fill a newspaper you just said ain't got no it was stop stop stop i can't i can't do two things um so um so we need i can't so we good night so um news from home is just uh i love this section this is where folks are writing in about what happened today or what they've been doing on the farm it doesn't have to be farm we've got people here that don't live on farms and that's what i like about this community and this community paper this isn't about necessarily you know i know there's one person well she's ken timmy so but i'm just going to say she's not like a homesteading person she's not a farming person she's not a country person and she subscribed and she's excited to get it and i'm excited for her to get it so the common denominator with the with the reader of this paper is somebody who appreciates home and heritage and hope and homemaking maybe homeschooling maybe not homeschooling um cooking um just just innocent simple life sharing community simply is the byline and um they're not they won't honor your warranty they can't find they bought it so now we have to pay to have it repaired or buy new printers buy a new printer okay wait okay got distracted okay that was distracting i'm reading the i'm reading the messages okay all right um so news from home so if you'll submit that and the deadline for february's issue to get stuff in i don't know somebody asked me that while ago and that's a good question so i'm going to um i'm probably gonna say either i'm either gonna say 10 days or two i'm going to say 10 days or two weeks before the publication date that just gives me enough time in case something happens or you know because i'm a one-woman show i do have people that are helping me and a lady that's helping me with bookkeeping and i also i'm praying for specific um job descriptions of people that are going to step up and offer to help with certain things but i don't want to ask people because i need um i really feel like this is kind of the lord's project that he's put on my mind and my heart my brain and um two people have stepped up to offer to help and that's and they've offered actually three people and they've offered to help with exactly what i needed and i didn't have to ask them and so um that is a good um system um because that way i know you know i didn't pressure them into it or whatever so i need help with certain aspects of the paper so that i can spread the jobs out and no one person has too much and it doesn't involve writing or editing it's other things it's kind of like the secretarial in the back not the background but the secretarial type stuff office work type stuff so anyway um i don't know why i got off on that but the deadline i'm gonna say 10 days to two weeks and i'll be more specific about that but we're looking at february 22nd and so to get all the news from home and all that and honestly and i know y'all are busy oh my goodness i am too so it's february 8th so it's about a week and a week and a half to get me the things but i'm needing you know if you have recipes if you have poetry i'm looking through here if you have ads if you're a small business i really want to make sure that you have an avenue to advertise and like i said it goes out to 35 states and three countries so if you have a mail order business an etsy shop a small family owned you know operated um then you know that's got i'm not gonna i'll show you real quick but there's three ads and um i love the community board idea in here a community board is um well i'll just read this it says this feature is free for the journal subscribers to communicate whether searching for a recipe livestock land to purchase farm machinery kitchen equipment homesteading or homeschool material family ancestry anything neighbors might post at the local general merchandise store community board no cost to submit an item for the community board but adequate personal information you have to give your okay um so i love that there's a health section a nutrition and lifestyle tips i talked to the lady today who's going to be doing that every paper and she's very excited she said can i please have more than one paragraph space so i know this lady personally and um she is studying to be a i don't know the title but a nutrition expert type person um and she has a um a a heart to help those who um can't afford to go out and spend hundreds of dollars for some naturopathic doctor um anyway we have a recipe page and let's see poetry um so all different kinds of things um and i'm very i have one devotional somebody submitted so that gives you an idea and uh please don't you know those folks that say i'm not a writer i can't do anything yes everybody nearly everybody that submitted something for news from home told me that and i think it is wonderful and i think you're going to realize that when you get the paper so um all right well let me um i'll just wrap it up here i guess if y'all don't have questions but i just um all right so i think i covered everything i wanted to cover and then how to sub is down below go ahead and um you know if you haven't subbed or ordered the first issue you know go ahead and order it we'll figure out how to get it printed apparently we're about to yeah we got to figure that out we weren't expecting printer issues this printer has been a good one but we've just been printing print and printing and all right i'm going to see if you have any questions the lord will provide miss claire and i i want to say too thank you a lot of folks and this is not i'm not hinting or anything so but i'm saying a lot of folks sent more than the dollar sixty for the intro some of them sent two or five or more and just said put that towards the startup cost and i just want to point i just want to say thank you thank you thank you thank you and not only that well the letters are behind me but i've got a basket i'm going to get them okay first of all look at the basket from pecan acres oh my goodness i love it okay but i have got i mean here's a package somebody sent me not only a letter but a book that she wrote and she said i had permission to use content in it look i mean this is what i want to show you i'm so so thankful first of all i didn't think anybody take me up on my offer to send stamps i mean i like that idea and mr patient's like okay well that's nice but okay nobody's gonna do that that's but i just it's something that i felt like i wanted to offer it was an idea i had and um that just honestly i feel like this whole thing is just kind of the lord putting it together and that's an idea that i felt like was pressed upon me and so these many people have sent stamps and or a check uh not well yeah and or a check but the letters that y'all have written me i i'm just i sit here some of them i've just teared up because you've been so encouraging and i did not expect that blessing of just the letters and then folks writing and and um so that was very needed very appreciated thank you so much for that okay and you know thank you sandra for saying that but i do want to say this i have loved every word of putting this together uh he's he's going that's not his thing he's like oh he'd rather have his toenails pulled out with the pliers or something but oh my goodness i have loved doing this which is probably another reason why i decided to do it every other month because of it okay that was too much fun and um i remembered the other night i had forgotten that um this is a couple years ago that i was in junior high school conley conley middle school in lewisburg tennessee and some friends and i started the conley comet newspaper i think we started it if we didn't start it then we were i know we were on the staff and i was the editor and all that kind of stuff so um and then i was on the yearbook staff in high school so i had forgotten that i had done that back in school so you know getting all that back has been fun also i'm going to put another video out i'm probably going to do what did you think kind of video probably a week from now to make sure everybody gets theirs and i want you to tell me in the comments of that video i've already got the questions i'm going to ask in that video and then in the comments i really want you to tell me because i need feedback i need constructive criticism and and maybe not but i need i need some feedback so i would like to know what's your favorite part um who's maybe one particular person's news from home you enjoyed and like to hear more and i can contact that person and let them know maybe ideas of things you want to see because some of the stuff that's in the february issue is what has been suggested to me so i've put it in the february issue already oh excuse me um and then what would you like to see more of i think i said that and then of course consider taking out ads and the information for how to buy an ad which is very economical i feel like probably too economical but um is in the intro issue i have two recipes in the intro issue but if i can figure out my spacing i might do a whole spread like um two pages of recipes in the in upcoming ones yes yes see nikki yes you can i mean look i'm not gonna decide what kind of ad like that's up to you all my job excuse me my job is just to um put the ad in the paper you know so you know if you want to advertise what i mean if it's something what does it say well anyway i don't know what page it's on i don't have my pages numbered i couldn't figure out how to do that y'all i just couldn't see i have a soap well law mercy you'd think i'd be able to find it paige in the paper's not that big how to advertise well for the love where is it where's my section about how to advertise okay wait oh so it says add submissions preferably black and white accepted accepted for accepted for home-based small physical or online businesses family-owned businesses home home centered video channels self-published books etc advertisement will align with philosophy of the journal readers which is home heritage hope and the owners or editors of the journal reserve the right to refuse okay that's a whole liability thing um so anyway yeah so family-owned business online business even your home-centered video chat your youtube channel whatever you want to advertise oh she's saying i have to do this at work and you might allow more than 10 days that's what i was kind of wondering i'm so new at this i'm so new genie and i do not i'm learning every step of the way as i go um okay so it's freezing in tennessee three people on here are saying it's cold in tennessee he says you don't know cold what what's the temperature right now outside it's 25 right now it's gonna be 17 tonight okay so um so i hope the patrons got their papers and i hope mr patient goes to bed because he's like getting the stink eye actually in murfreesboro and uh the online piano teacher for the kids and he um it's the same one they had before and he told them today that it was supposed to get a dusting tonight okay let's talk the places i'll look at your address this may sound weird but not your address but your city i don't look at your address and i will type in the city to see if it was someplace that we were near and a lot of times it has been no i've never looked at anybody's address or google earth or whatever that people do i don't do that kind of thing well you don't do that to these addresses though okay um let's see what your guesses are and then i'm going to tell you and then we're going to say goodnight with my little sleepy time water 33 in eastern kentucky so again if you haven't subscribed you want number two is ohio is ohio now you would think okay well that's where you live well you know i don't know man i know lots of people know how but i don't know as many as i know in tennessee which by the way tennessee's number three okay but you know what it's not because they know us personally because there's a lot of the ohio and tennessee folks that i have never met all right so texas ohio and tennessee and then number four is north carolina with 10 um journals going to north carolina and then number five is interesting i wouldn't have thought about this one number five is indiana number five is indiana oh no indiana and missouri thai so that's number five um each one of those have six going to them indiana and ohio i mean missouri rather double checking and then runners-up the runner-up is i've got georgia is next i had several runners up but then georgia just beat them all so i felt like i was tallying votes or something oh my stars um oh go upstairs and get your prayer he just went upstairs to bed sorry all right now the states that we don't have anybody and i know for a fact that we have viewers from these states because i got a christmas card from honolulu hawaii
