you for the online people being here and aunt haifa if you're watching we love you um man i'm just so excited you know last time i shared i was a little bit uh nervous and you know had all the feelings all the anxiety i know y'all probably never deal with anxiety so but anyway this time specifically i feel like the lord has just given me something awesome to share and i think it's just because i have walk to this out for myself and i still walk it out on a on a daily basis so um the title for my message today is called easy street finding rest for your soul because you know everything in this world is contending for your rest and so if you could just come turn to john 16 33 if you have your bible let me find it here so i'm going to start here with this and jesus said these things i have spoken to you that in me you may have peace in the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer i have overcome the world you know what's awesome is that we have the overcomer living on the inside of us isn't that awesome and because jesus you know as he is so are we in this world and so if he's an overcomer we're an overcomer but he says uh he says in the world you will have tribulation and as i was preparing this message i feel like the lord said you know heather there's two different types of tribulation there's one type of tribulation that comes against us because we live in a fallen world right sin sickness death all of these things are a result of sin being rampant in the world and so that causes tribulation but the there's a second type and it's the type of tribulation we bring into our own lives by not trusting god and by trying to do things our own way has anyone has that ever happened to anybody have you ever fallen into some tribulation and you're like this was my fault oh no so um i just feel like the lord wanted me to share just take heart you know if you're going through some tribulation right now just take heart the lord loves you and he has grace for you and he's going to pull you out of that pit because i know i've been in the pit and the pit stinks so um the second scripture i want to share with you is first corinthians 6 9 through sorry 19 through 20 and if you have your bibles you can read along with me or i can just read to you um okay so 19 says or do you not know that your body is the temple of the holy spirit who is in you whom you have from god and you are not your own for you are bought at a price therefore glorify god in your body and in your spirit which are god's this speaks volumes to me because the lord first of all i just love the word of god you know he he just gosh i he's really taught me how to just live this life on the easy street because there are definitely roads that aren't easy and um but there there is a right way and a wrong way to do life and you know this says to glorify god in your body number one and in context this is talking about for fornication and sexual sins but really the way i take it is um just trust god we should just want to trust god and want to hear god and let him direct our path you know when i was younger in high school i was very headstrong i know you probably can't imagine that no way i know and i just thought you know if i follow god god's going to send me out here to do something crazy and i don't want to do that i i want to have fun i want to have fun you know that's the first thing the enemy will tell you is you're always the fun way your flesh you know just let your flesh have whatever it wants because you are going to be so happy and there's so much contentment in that and all these things and that is just a flat out lie and um it's just it's just a lot better if you do things god's way so um so do it god's way that's my first point do it god's way you know uh anytime we give something to god he gives it back to us and just like our money he gives it back to our when we sow our money press down shaking together and running over i believe that he does the same thing with our life you know when we sow our life to him when we make him our lord man he just takes your life and he just makes it so much better he can make it so much better than we can isn't it it will totally set you free you know you think that freedom is doing everything your own way but it's not freedom is actually in christ who the son sets free is free indeed if there's no freedom outside of christ in my opinion that's pretty good um so your life is the same way the deborah the the devil operates off of making you feel like you're missing something but god is a giver the only thing he takes away is anxiety depression sickness loneliness and so on isn't that amazing he's a giver of life he doesn't take away but you know like when i was younger the devil would say don't don't do it god's way you're going to be miserable is there anybody out here who who i know there are some other people out here that were probably stubborn that did life your own way before you realized maybe i should do it god's way let me see yes gosh that encourages me not good i'm not the only one so um comparison to let me just get let me take a detour you know no i'm not gonna do it i'm not gonna do it so anyway i have to experience the world for myself is a terrible idea so don't buy into the law i've bought into law in the past but i don't buy it anymore there's nothing but turmoil and even death in that lifestyle and i've already said it but i'll say it again we'll never have peace apart from god ever ever never from jesus we'll never have rest apart from seeking jesus daily which brings me to my second point is um do you eat every day y'all eat every day so so what happens when you don't eat do you get hangry yeah you get frustrated mad you can't think straight yes that was actually one of my points you can't think straight so let's turn over to john 6 31-35 i believe that this was the lord that led me to about being hungry i have a sign in my kitchen that says forgive me for what i said when i was hangry or hungry hungry yeah forgive me for what i said when i was hungry man your flesh just likes to likes to try to get its way all the time so our okay so john 6 31 our fathers ate the manna in the desert at israel as it is written he gave them bread from heaven to eat then jesus said to them most assuredly i say to you moses did not give you the bread from heaven but my father gives you the true bread from heaven from the bread of for the bread of god is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world and this part i love they said then they said to him lord give us this bread always like he's that just cracked me up i don't know and jesus said to them i'm the bread of life he who comes to me shall never hunger and he who believes in me shall never thirst and i love this so you can liken being spiritually hungry to being physically hungry you know when you're spiritually hangry you're fearful you have anxiety you're stressed you're short with people you're short with people that's to me and so i use that as my barometer of okay if i'm spiritually hungry then i need to go get some bread and who doesn't love carbs i love some carbs so what happens is you know i just go back to the word and god is so gracious he just meets me where i am and you know i hope i don't cry i'm probably gonna cry so i just i love that um i so my daughter is dealing with this stupid little skin rash that's gonna go away but you know it's like pastor aaron was talking about last night i don't know who i was here and heard his message but he was saying faith isn't stating the obvious and so what's the first thing you do when you have like um i know they're probably super saints here so y'all probably don't do this but like the first thing you do when you're dealing with a problem is you're like oh look at this problem look at this problem look here it is it's gonna go away but look at it you know and so as i'm like declaring the word over my uh over my daughter let me back up i first said oh look she's got this little rash and it started out just little and then i was like you know putting some stuff on it and then it started getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and then every time even though i was just talking to aaron i would say look at this rack look at it just look at it you know and um but last night the lord said to me you know what you don't have to undo every time you stated the obvious because you know sometimes we think that we have to get in the word and we have to declare we're going to declare this promise but we've got to declare it once for every time we stated the obvious before it will work you know what i'm saying does that make sense so god is so gracious that you don't have to undo everything that you have done every time that you've screwed up you don't have to undo that all it takes is one word from god and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god and so it takes that one word and all of a sudden your whole life can change your circumstance can change isn't that amazing that is so encouraging to me and let me let me also take another little side road here i just want to say pastor barbara thank you for making me do this because even if nobody else gets anything out of this it ministers to me you guys should all go and pretend like you're preparing to speak somewhere because i'm telling you i was going through these notes and god was just speaking to my heart and just reminding me of the places that he's brought me out of isn't that awesome oh my gosh we should get in the word there's a novel thought we should just get in the word we have the bible but you know i mean we all go through spiritual valleys ditches and then mountaintops you know some days god is like so tangible like you you feel like oh my gosh i've just stepped into heaven and then other days you have like javier was talking about last night can i have a reset button you know like the handle breaks off your crock pot before you come to church and and so on and so on but anyway we need to transform our minds that's what i'm getting at um and if you live in this world for 10 minutes you'll be tempted to be depressed sick anxious mad but be patient and give yourself some grace just like it takes time to renovate a house it takes time to renew and renovate your mind and let's go hop on over to romans 12 2. is this too much scripture okay i mean is there even such a thing okay so romans 12 2 says and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of god man there is a good and an acceptable and a perfect will of god and when we can walk in it and um i love that so my next little note here says when you renovate a house and god show me this picture when we renovate a house are you ashamed of that or do what do you say you say yeah you say i am renovating my house i'm getting new cabinets i'm getting new carpet i'm redoing the floors i'm throwing some paint up on this bad boy and it's going to be beautiful and so you know what god showed me that and he said you know you should always go where you're celebrated go hang out with people that are going to encourage you and love you and they're not going gonna judge you because we're all a work in progress i you know i i believe that it just stinks in the nostrils of god people that not people but attitudes that are like oh well she's going through something isn't she and you know what i was going through a really hard i was going through a really hard place in my life after my husband died i he god graced me with his supernatural joy and i was able to just like skyrocket through his funeral and it was amazing and then shortly after that um because i wasn't in this like faith fight or i thought i wasn't but guess what your whole life is a faith fight whether you know it or not surprise so i i wasn't in this like large faith fight anymore seemingly to me and i was just getting back into the routine of life you know as as normal and my friends some of my friends not all of them but a couple of them and now i just recognize it as man that was the enemy and they they didn't know you know but they would say you need to do you need to do you you need to come out with us you need to let's go paint the town let's go to concerts let's go to hockey games and and on the flip side i i had a son i have a son and who was three at the time but he also had three sets of grandparents where i used to live in tennessee so i always had a babysitter i never even had to ask they would just say hey can we have fisher this weekend can we have fisher this weekend can we have fisher and i'm like okay so what's up what's a now single widow gonna do at home you know times you're not tested during hard times you're really tried and tested in the seemingly good times when everything seems to be going good those are the times when your nose should be in the bible and so because of this i started doing a lot of bad things that aren't even worthy to be discussed and i'm not going to give glory to but as i'm going through this my my very best friend she didn't even know but she said you know what i'm not worried about you i'm not worried about you this isn't you and this is not gonna be forever and that she totally prophesied over me and she didn't even know it you know and i i believed that i'm like you're right this isn't me i'm not gonna be like this forever but why do i feel like i'm gonna be here forever why why do i feel like i'm stuck in this big mess that i have this tribulation that i have brought on myself why do i feel like i can't get out of this and you know i because of that because i was not trusting god i wasn't going down the easy straight now i'm not saying life's easy life is not easy but you know what we can walk this life out in joy and peace and love and we and it can be enjoyable life doesn't have to be a mess and so um but what i'm getting at is because of this tribulation that i put myself in i was experiencing anxiety and i believe depression i felt i would wake up in the mornings and my heart would feel like it was beating out of my chest i felt i had to take xanax every single day i took it three times a day i was pretty much a walking zombie and a lot of it wasn't because god god was still speaking to me through all of this and showing me like even though i was taking that medicine to help this anxiety he said heather the reason why the holy spirit is so good he will whisper things to you when you're in a bad spot he doesn't yell at you like i yell at my kids sometimes he doesn't do that he said heather you know you wouldn't have to take this if you would stop doing the stuff you're doing if you would get out of the places you're in if you would just stop that then all of this would stop and now i'd be like i know but it's just a lot easier just to take this take this medicine and do what i got to do or not do what i got to do take this medicine and and shut everything else off you know but you know what there's just nothing but death in that you cannot outrun bad bad decisions i mean you god will help you out of them but you just you just need to surrender to him and let him help you um so i already told you all of this so i was taking medicine and i kept staying in the word you know it was so funny before i even all of this time even though i was living this alternate lifestyle because i really was i knew i was gonna be moving here and going to karis bible college i knew i knew i wanted to go to karis bible college and it's funny because the devil has no new tricks he will try to snag you in the same areas every single time over and over and over until you recognize until you recognize that and just decide to make jesus your lord over over what you're doing and um and that was part of my problem is that i never made jesus my lord i made him my savior but i was like okay jesus you can be my savior but i'm gonna do me i'm gonna do my life the way i want to and that is not that's not the best and so um sometimes you gotta flee that's my last point i think sometimes you gotta flee sometimes there are situations and circumstances in people that you need to get away from and the best way to do that is shut the door just like jairus when he wanted his daughter to be he wanted jesus to come heal his daughter and he they got to his house and all the people were crying and all that what did jesus do he put all them people out and he shut the door and he raised that girl from the dead isn't that awesome that wasn't in my notes so so the best thing i ever did for myself is move across the country and it wasn't where i was going not the physical location but it was who i was seeking i was forsaking all forsaking all to follow what to finally gosh i'm 30. i'm about to be 36 years old i was 34 i think 34. 33 or 34. took me that long do not wait that long if you're younger than me in here do not wait that long so um and god he wants to give you he wants you to give him let me say this right he wants you to give him your life because he knows you better than you know you he knows you he knows exactly what you need he knows exactly who you need in your life better than you do this is a revelation to me this is a major revelation to me um and once i got here guys once i once i moved into my house i never had to take another medication for anxiety ever again i never woke up with my heart beating out of my chest i was completely healed i never dealt with anxiety depression any of that ever and listen it's a real thing i know that we're like a faith community and it's like well if you just be in the word that anxiety would go away well yeah it will sometimes but sometimes it takes a moving of your feet get out of that mess get out of the mess so jesus was following my lord and you know i hear his voice we're his sheep where we hear his voice and god knew what i needed god knew what fisher needed and i'm so thankful i'm so thankful for my life now and i spend every single day thanking god and i wake up and i think is this really my life it's amazing to me and it can be the same way for you and it doesn't matter how old you are it doesn't matter if you're in your teens your 20s your 30s your 40s your 50s your 60s or 70s your 80s or 90s how i covered everybody and he makes all things new he's such a restorer so when i first moved here um you know i came to church because i knew i wanted to come to church here oh let me back up and share this little tidbit because i've got some some minutes left so when i was in a mess this is really important don't stop seeking god and when you're in a mess i love this post that i saw on facebook somewhere and it said like if you went out and got drunk last night come to church if you were sleeping around yesterday come to church if you gambled or whatever just whatever the sin is come to church if you're worried am i a male or a female come to church nobody cares nobody's looking at you crazy we've all got enough going on we ain't worried about you we're worried about our handle breaking off her crockpot okay so i i love that just recently soundtrack heather so when i was in a mess i this is before i even knew aaron i would listen to pastor lawson's podcasts and once and one sunday or monday i would listen to them on mondays because they always came out on monday and one monday oh you don't understand i was in such a mess i was afraid to talk to anybody about it and that's the reason why i had so much anxiety the lord showed me he said it's because all these things that are going on in the darkness you're trying to hide them from everybody else but guess what i'm the lord i already know i already know what's going on you shouldn't be worried about them you should be worried about me what about you grieving the holy spirit living on the inside of you putting jesus through all this crap you know could you imagine dragging jesus through all your sin like come on jesus like anyway i would and i heard pastor lawson say god is and i don't believe god is in the business of uncovering people's sins i believe that god is in the business of covering up and i loved that that made me want to be like okay god if you can fix this crap without telling anybody that would be great like and that's exactly did you know that's exactly what he did for me and so now i can take all this and just smear it in the devil's face and i love it so when i moved here i was like okay got my got got a little bit of money i bought a house i have my son so i got my little family i'm never getting married again what about that i will never ever ever get married again ever did i say ever never and um y'all i didn't you if anybody's ever had a spouse that's passed away or been sick for a long time and you've had to take care of them and they've passed away you're like i will never endure that kind of heartache ever again and i you know god just has other plans for our lives wouldn't it what if what if we just took our lives and said here you go god just you just do whatever you want you would be amazed i'm still like okay god do whatever you want let me see what's new today jesus you know but um so i was never getting married again and lo and behold i came to church and i met aaron i think it was like the first sunday that i came to church here in the little guest reception and the lord and i don't usually like i don't feel like i usually hear god like i mean i don't ever hear god audibly like in my spirit probably but anyway i i feel like he said well this is your husband and i said i don't think so i do not think so and aaron and i we we've talked about this so i'm going to be honest and share with you even though i decided i was never going to get married again but if i do get married again this husband he's going to be an outdoorsman he's going to have a beard he's gonna be six foot tall he's gonna have a truck he's gonna love jesus of course and isn't it so funny that god's like nah girl no no but remember me telling you about how uh anyway i'm not gonna go down that road so so he basically said this your husband i'm like that can't be right like and for one he's the pastor and i told everybody i'm not going to be a pastor so when i moved from tennessee they would say are you going to bible college to be a pastor and i'm saying no i never want to do that my mom's a pastor that's hard i'm not doing that and so i'm like this can't be you god and um anyway he long story short he asked me out on a date and i was like i guess i'll go and we went and then after that is when i realized um he plays classical music i don't know anything about that that's not country you know that's not hank williams jr and george strait and all these people i know i knew nothing about classical music and i had to go and barbara and lawson were sitting right there beside me and i'm like try not to nod off in this concert but anyway and so after that i'm like this can't be you lord this is like none of the things that i expected and um and aaron and i we like he was like because he he was pretty much he heard god i guess before i did or before i surrendered to god and he was like now later on a couple of months later he was let me just start over okay let me start over i'm getting ahead of myself so um we started dating and then i said no i'm not this can't be right i moved here to go to karis bible college not to get engaged not to have a husband and i'm finally putting the lord first i'm not this that's not the time for this and plus that's too hard juggling and dating a boyfriend and school and single mom and all the things and but um on the inside i still had this still small voice that was saying no this this is right this is for you and i'm like no it can't be and so i was really upset and i was talking on the phone to aaron i was crying i'm like my husband just died and you know a year ago i i mean let's just try to pull out all the stops like i'm defective leave me alone i i have i have already been in a mess you're a pastor and what if somebody digs up some of this crap that i've finally got out of like you know like right won't the devil do that doesn't the devil do that though he he's like huh yeah he tries to bring up the past and i'm like this guy is so nice and i am crazy like ah this we cannot be compatible but god can send you it's true you're laughing but let me tell you these are all real thoughts that went through my head like he's got his act together he's he's getting his doctorate i don't even have a college education and here i am like i don't i'm a single mom been married before he's never been married before really awesome man of god like no way no way and for whatever reason god put it in his heart to love me thank god thank god i give him a lot of credit i i thank god every day for aaron so i finally was just like lord okay i moved out here i made you my lord i moved out here so with the same with the same attitude i'm going to say lord if this is you i'm going to need a word because i will not get married again but if you tell me to do something i've learned i've i've not i don't want to do it the hard way i'm trying to do the easy street thing you know i don't want to do it the hard way anymore lord and so and and that was also really scared because you know being married is not easy sometimes i know there are probably women here that are married your marriage is probably not easy but god god's gonna help you god's gonna give you god is giving you grace i don't know who needs to hear this but marriage is not easy sometimes that's okay because you find your love from jesus okay so what happened was i was sitting in class and the lord gave me this word and he spoke it to me like i'm listening i'm in class listening but i'm also like has the lord ever shared something with you like while you're listening to somebody else i hope that's happening now actually i really do i hope i hope everybody gets something from this but so this was almost it was a month and 15 days after our first date and so it took me that long i was kind of weeble-wobbling around and um aaron it was so funny he was so patient he was like you know you should be chasing me i'm like i know i know it's true i'm like you got your act together i'm the one over here like a still that's still us to it to you but so the lord said this to me and i knew i knew beyond the shadow of a doubt and and prior to this i didn't really see aaron as like my hus like a husband to me like i i thought oh we could be friends and he was like no i'm not friends with girls either we're dating or we're not dating and i'm like well that's probably a smart idea you probably don't need to just be princess girls i don't know so anyway the lord said if you say yes to god he will create the desire in your heart walk by faith give up your life to the will of god and you will not regret it i have a great plan for you greater than you could ever ask or think be obedient for my plans aren't what you think you want now but they're actually what i know you need out of this plan many lives will be changed not just yours it's never about your own life but about others so god wants to take our tribulation take our mess take all of that not just to bless you silly he wants to bless others isn't that awesome and so my others and there's a verse for this too by the way philippians 2 13 talks about how god will will create how he's the one that creates the desires in your heart and the next day as when i wrote this down in my bible still have it in class the next day i woke up and i saw aaron completely different because you know why i decided to make jesus my lord and finally do what he tells me to do and he will even create desires in your heart that you didn't even know that you could have you can do the same thing for your husband if your husband's kind of unlovable sometimes he does i hope he does this for me every single day i'm not joking i could not not even trying to be funny lord help me and so but you know so it's never about our own life but it's about others so really quickly in four minutes or less fisher um you know his his first dad his biological dad passed away and one after aaron and i were engaged i think probably a lot of y'all have already heard this testimony but it's just so awesome i love sharing it we were sitting man fisher was sitting on the rug in the living room and aaron was playing piano and the lord reminded me of a time when fisher was i don't know six or eight months old and we were at a high school football game and you know how those are loud with the band and the band's awesome the town that i was from the high school band like won awards they were awesome so they were playing their music in fischer i was holding him like this and his little feet were dangling kind of like i was holding ada last night and his feet were just kicking away he was listening to that music and he loved it and the lord said and i was thinking that night gosh wouldn't it be awesome if fisher grew up knowing how to play an instrument or just growing up in a musical atmosphere and that night um as aaron was playing the piano the lord said don't you remember heather don't you remember when fischer was six or eight eight months old and you were thinking to yourself gosh this little boy loves music you know and i know that like his his dad his real dad he was just aerobic outdoorsman football basketball you know all-american sports guy so he would say fisher's going to be a football player when he grows up he's going to be a big kid he's going to be a football player and you know what he might have he might have if his dad was still alive but you know what god gave us another father for fisher and and gave us a hole in the oat to open up a whole another area of fisher's life that we might not have even seen you know isn't that awesome so i just want oh let's go to first peter five real quick real quick because we only got two minutes okay i'm done after this okay so first peter 5 6 says therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of god that he may exalt you in due time casting all your care upon him for he cares for you so my encouragement to you today is that just cast all your cares onto the lord you know he wants to exalt you he wants to glorify himself through your life and not only that he just wants to take all of your tribulation he wants to take your mess and make it into a message and he can and he will and there's nothing to be ashamed of this is the other thing um there are people here or online that god spoke this to me that are ashamed of what you're going through the enemy wants to keep you in those dark places but god is saying to you right now that if you will just open up to someone and let them pray for you that those chains will be broken and you can begin your journey into freedom with jesus so just i encourage you like we're we're all women of faith here hey but you know what else we're just real women there's not one person here that hasn't been through something or is going through something so even though this can feel like a big church sometimes like we're all here for one another life is never too busy to stop and just to pray and to to help your sisters or brothers so okay well i'm just gonna pray right now for everybody is that good okay thank you lord we thank you for your grace we thank you that right now if we haven't if there's people here that already have not humbled themselves and made you their lord lord i just pray that you would speak to their hearts and give them boldness and give them some revelation to know that your plan for their life is beyond anything that they could ever ask think or imagine that it's so good god that you love them so much and even online right now i just pray for all those that are away in their homes right now watching that you would just give them a supernatural peace and a joy like you've never seen before lord and we just thank you for all these things and for everything you're doing in this body of christ and we thank you for a revival that's coming lord man it's going to be amazing i believe that blind eyes are opening right now to see the one true god the lord of the universe that everyone is going to know who you are soon lord in jesus name amen okay are we done are we done i've never really ended this thing before so okay so you're just now i like it i like it about everything you you said but um when you're sharing i think this is a good thing maybe to reiterate for those here and and those watching online when you talked about that podcast blessing you you know when when i was the churches i was raised in it was always the teaching was um god's mad at you and you know he's going to strike you with lightning and and i know the revelation that god showed us in that message you're talking about um because you know as we read our bibles and stay for ourself i was like that is not how god is and what you're referring to is you know when you think about um adam and eve in the garden and after they actually sinned did god run away from them what happened god came at thank you we got some good preachers here god god perse his love pursued them he came to them and what he did he covered them because they weren't covered anymore he took the skins of an animal and he covered them and i like what you um brought out anybody here are again watching online needs to know that you don't have to carry that condemnation that god does cover us and it's not about oh what's especially because of the culture we have this social media we can dig up anything on anyone but you know god that is not god's nature did you want to share anything about is that no you got it so um um you know i just really wanted to i think reiterate that i just i appreciate that you just really shared from your heart and you're transparent so women i think that's what's going to really empower women or people going forward just to have that knowledge that god's ministry isn't about exposing us his love covers us so we can go forward and so then we can continue to impact others and i like that word he gave you because i think the world of heather i've i'm blessed that i have three amazing daughter laws and i think the world of heather and what i like and i think you've all already seen it but as far as aaron and heather the ministry that they both have they love god they love people and both of you are always trying to help other people help other people shine and and bring them up and it's not a ministry of condemnation but that god loves you and um and so i appreciate that about you well thank you you can sign us out however okay i'm going to sign you out your sound out but if if you got if this encouraged you in any way please come tell me because i it's really encouraging to me and anytime somebody speaks you know if god spoke something to you even if it doesn't pertain this
