anyone because we have no idea who's coming but we're going to have a special guest tonight they're going to sit right there and we're going to have dinner get to know someone and we have no idea who it is so welcome to episode one of dinner with the demilios [Music] wait let's try and guess who we think it is i have guests i have like 80 guesses maya rudolph i think she would be awesome to have dinner is that a good one yeah sorry night life yeah it's not that person come on who do you think it could be megan stallion oh that would be a good one mark that would be a good one um dave chappelle oh that'll be it dude that would be amazing are we guessing or who are we guessing from the context clues that i have it's someone in their 20s and they live in california true oh i didn't know any of that i was hoping well it's because i um i'm guessing their name starts with a t why i don't know i was thinking also maybe taylor swift jessica alba would be a good one a good one so this is our first um home-cooked meal we've had since last november wait why are they dragging you into like i'm so nauseous i'm dizzy because you're nervous they wouldn't book me for the dixie emilio show so i'm here for dinner with the demilitarized i thought it was going to be like someone we didn't know yeah we were afraid of this one big famous but we didn't know who they were got it and that would have been so embarrassing good evening guys so to start with today i made you uh like a mediterranean style cucumbers some tiny heirloom tomatoes chives red onion and a uh plant-based feta cheese for those of you who prefer plant-based so everybody on youtube this is not only uh the chef of the night but our good friend aaron may who is my favorite chef and thank you so much for doing this for us we've got uh some paella cooking today for you i made a plant-based entirely vegan mushroom paella who is this are you plant-based i don't even know that yeah yeah so we made a beautiful mushroom via and then we've got like a classic valencia pie with shrimp and chicken and a lot of other great stuff so enjoy this out and we'll be back with some treats thank you i watched your video with maddie ziegler today yeah look at me just catching up being so good to go that was really really great she's so sweet and we're a lot alike which i didn't expect but that was really cool to see because you don't find a lot of people in l.a that are very like i could have told you right away that you laid back guys are very very similar yeah she's very calm i'm very cold so that's really cool to see and people don't expect that from me like expect me to be calm they expect me to be like dancing 24 7 from what they see on the internet really yeah i get that all the time you thought you're going to be a lot more outgoing do you think we're crazy for moving our whole family across no i wanna i wanna move my family out here too so do you think they will my dad is like very my mom would literally get up and move tomorrow like she would get up on a plate right now if i was like hey here's your boarding pass sweetie my dad however i don't think would right it takes some convincing he wants to move to colorado which i don't understand why or vegas did you win i mean i don't either yes most likely to be famous that's what i got yeah i got most beautiful did you no wait i think that was a prom no i got most beautiful that's so prominent period nothing i don't think they have that category anymore let me come between you guys i'm literally so hungry it's insane that is beautiful that's the classic paella thank you so much dad what was your senior superlative class clown you're so stupid for that we did did you guys go grow up together i am from louisiana and he grew up well he was born in new york city and then so sorry connecticut just some toasted bread rub it with garlic a little bit of sea salt olive oil and then squeeze some fresh tomato on it thank you thank you so much have you asked all of your like biggest dreams no definitely not lots of things that i still want to do i'm already done yeah my goal was to graduate high school i finished last year but we all started somewhere do you like everyone always ask the girls do you guys wait or ask heidi and i do you wake up some mornings and just be like i can't believe what's going on in our life do you get that feeling all the time i think it i think i think i used to get it a lot more when i first started now obviously that i've been doing this for quite a while now it feels it doesn't feel the exact same anymore except for when i do really cool things like i had that feeling the entire day of the vogue shoot like that was one of the coolest days of my entire life and like even like it like the photos turned out amazing but like it just felt kind of like a normal photo shoot it wasn't until i was in the group chat like with the editor-in-chief and stuff and she sent over like a few different options like for the cover with the photo with the vogue logo like edited on and i was like wow like this is like this is actually happening like this is so crazy so it's like it's like things like that oh no isn't this food amazing it is so good i mean i know like obviously without saying or giving anything away i know a lot of the projects that you're working on right now and i think they're all very exciting yeah it's like what's motivating you to keep expanding and like doing more and like why why now do you want to get more involved with the business type stuff because i remember when i first met you i was i was being like babe no no get it together you need to be paying attention like you need to be looking at contracts you need to be looking at this you need to be understanding deal terms because a lot of people don't but unfortunately that's how a lot of influencers what is everyone laughing at what is this oh my god it's a mushroom no it's not that's a snail oh snail is the kind of coal it's classic and it's actually uh omen of good luck and fortune i just touched its liver oh my god liver there's a [Laughter] and uh it brings you good luck and good fortune to eat it tastes like when a big wave hits you do it does it actually bring you good good looking good fortune yes liars oh dixie wait no you're getting yummy it sometimes happens when oh god it's so dramatic don't be so dramatic excuse yourself is she being real oh she actually dropped ew classic dixie do we have any dino don't let the dogs oh god all right well anyway while she's cleaning herself yeah as i was saying is the worst thing it's both that's so nasty i'm gonna not look in that drawer yeah don't look [Music] i threw up so we've been we've seen things but this whole business was new to all of us it's crazy and the way sometimes that where heidi and i just sit back and look at both dixie and charlie on how they handle things we're like wow and you know james you've been very instrumental in and i think a lot i think them coming out to california and being around other young people that are dealing with the same thing has helped them a lot but there's been a lot of times that you've been where as a dad i can be as much of a mentor to them as your dad is to you right there's only so much you could do but they've definitely been able to and i we've said as parents well why don't you call james to see what he thinks and see what he thinks about that all the time yeah that makes you so happy which is really cool no but we need we we need that because we don't look we've done a decent job but we're we're by no means we need we're not trying to reinvent the wheel you've you've gone through this already so i want them to and you've been so gracious enough to give them advice so it's cool how you doing dixie i was gonna say how are you hungry did you think that was going to turn out any other way because no it was good but then there's a salty part on it that was not good it tastes like chicken and then i tried the salty part and everything came up it was a very dramatic scene no yeah christian almost puke you have a child what are you like it thinks i see dixie and then christian right there so do i have bad luck now i feel like i need to eat another don't you not like sushi i'm just starting to get into it but no doesn't that seem like a food he would eat what does that mean like you're fancy there are i i agree there are some sushi is a category of food i i see where your head went there like i feel like you'd spend your weekends at nobu yeah definitely i could see that i would give off that vibe i don't know i'm just not the biggest fan of i don't like a lot of seafood um it's like whatever i would get i used to do like a cucumber avocado roll which is like boring but i recently tried a spicy tuna roll she's gorgeous loved her she was delish like okay i could i could get down with have you tried crispy rice yes good have you tried ebby what's that it's just like shrimp on rice don't i see i'm not the biggest fan of shrimp i've been avoiding my shrimp as you like yeah you're being very snappy at me today so i would control the attitude charlie if you're picky what's your favorite food chicken nugget and macaroni and cheese i love macaroni and cheese who was a person that you thought you knew who they would be and they turned out to be a lot better than you could have ever imagined kim kardashian i think it's the as like the first person that comes by stop that it fat dude i swear this happened so this is the first and last show that we're doing here you met her right and you you said the same thing she was so very very nice so nice especially like at the time this is chicago february february february 15th and tick tock wasn't as mainstream before corona times so i didn't like expect her to like know me in any way shape or form and she was so sweet they're all they all keep in touch they all know what's going on like at all times like even kylie like just such down-to-earth people yeah i like i get nervous when i meet new people so i was like really cool to just see them be so like inviting and like ready to have a conversation yeah that's i really like that about that family if everything ended tomorrow from a social media standpoint what do you think you do like all of social media just like me i'm done tomorrow like james charles has a career ending scandal or like no no social media nothing negative just just what would another career choice that you would do that would you be a veterinarian how to clarify no this is just if if you also woke up tomorrow and you could be interested i want to be a lawyer really there's just somebody so i know i love arguing i'm very good at arguing i'm very good at getting a point across and there are so many things in this country that are just so beyond messed up it's not even funny there's just so many laws or rules and regulations that i've come across that i'm like that is the dumbest thing that i've ever heard why is that a thing like why does that exist i thought about going to law school for that exact reason just because i find that there could be someone that has a better lawyer especially in the criminal side gets out of a certain situation and the one that doesn't have a good look like i was thinking about it's so it's just crazy it's so crazy let's start a law firm okay james and mark james and mark charles demilio that is that is a law firm name well because it's basically charlie demilia that's why it sounds good charles de million no i'm just saying like it's like it like sparks in your head because it's like why does that sound familiar yeah there we go me and you up here you came out with the james charles palette yes my birthday that year i wanted it really bad my grandma got it for me but she got it off of a scam website no and it never actually came oh no it's so bad wait who's mom yours not always that i still i get messages to this day oh my god i bought your pal but it was fake oh my god i bought your sister's merch but it was fake i'm like it like broke my heart no but in her defense she was like she said she wants this can you get it and i was like i was the only pl i'm like going through the internet i can't find it i was like okay it's the only option so hopefully it gets here a little yeah i probably couldn't find him slow down okay [Laughter] we're starting to see all the the one year things because it was just over one year ago that charlie said i was coming out to california on a business trip and she was like dad i saw on the calendar you going to california can i come and i was like yep it feels like yesterday it hasn't even been a year since i hit a million no and she introduced dixie that's a joke wait october 30th hey so october 30th i didn't have a tick tock that's the day i started you guys posted the video together looking like twins and everyone yeah and this year we have our collab and that comes out the 30th i have my song with liam payne coming out the 30th and i'm announcing trippy red's album all on the 30th wait whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa one year if we're thinking about it okay how far away is that's friday okay oh i wish i wish i had like more time because imagine if i hit a hundred mil a year after hitting a mill was the 95 not enough for you
