when you're making the cold calls when you're making the dials consistently you're gonna get hung up on it's inevitable it's part of the game it's gonna happen but what do you do next how do you continue to prospect these prospects and start sales conversations in today's video i'm sharing with you guys an email i send to prospects who hang up on me that has a 66 response rate where i'm email i would send to a prospect who hangs up on me and it's not a hang up where they say i can't talk right now it's like an angry hang up matt i never take cold calls click hangs up right away i'm probably not gonna have much success cold calling that person again this isn't how they like to be approached sales wise and i'm probably gonna have more success with an email this is an email i sent as mentioned 66 percent of the time i send an email like this i get a response and i'm gathering a lot of information and intel about how i might be useful to their companies and teams down the road brian angrily hung up i sent him this email subject line cold called you earlier today if i received that email i'd probably open it up if that was in my outlook i would probably open up that email just based off the subject line brian i'm the guy who cold called you earlier today i don't blame you for hanging up i don't i don't blame brian for hanging up i'm interrupting brian's day i'm not looking for an apology here i'm just looking to start a sales conversation over email because email's probably a better route with brian i made a short video about why i was calling because i didn't even get into the reason for the call brian has no idea my name is matt and i work for watchdog real estate project management he has no clue he just knows it was a cold call he doesn't take them any home up fyi the chances you have a need for what i do right now is about as high as me walking down the block to a 7-11 buying a powerball ticket and winning right there i'm acknowledging that my timing is probably off i'm not trying to sell you something right now i'm simply trying to learn how it might be useful in the future if you ever need what i'm selling because right now the chances are about as high as me winning the powerball and then i'll send a one minute personalized video and here is what the video looks like it sounds like and this is actually the guy that colt called you earlier today a few hours ago you took the route to hang up don't believe me at all most cold call she probably receive 9 out of 10 probably your waste your of your time and they suck so i totally get it my name is madam with watchdog real estate project management i know you have probably no need for what i do right now just go give me what's going on with cobin19 most capital facilities projects whether it's renovation or relocation have been put on hold which makes complete sense the reason i was calling brian was to simply learn how you approach your capital projects see if you do use third party pm resources to support your internal team and if you do you know what do you look for in those type of services and really when i should get on your radar down the road when projects are thick again brian regardless thank you for watching the video just looking for some direction when should i get on the radar down the road anyway thank you for taking the call have a great week next top right there you have it guys that took me one minute to shoot one take i'm not trying to be perfect here i'm just simply trying to execute and start a sales conversation up and brian got back to me five minutes after receiving the email and he watched 100 of the video and said matt you're exactly right we have no projects right now and probably not for the rest of 2021 we do however have a few projects that are supposed to take place in a few of our locations throughout the country in 2022 we are using a third-party pm service right now that we do like and we'll probably use but get back on my radar things have a way of changing get back on the radar come summertime maybe a conversation makes sense when these people hang up on you maybe they don't like phone calls maybe they're going to be more receptive to a handwritten note or you stopping in physically or you sending an email with a personalized video but just because someone hangs up doesn't mean you cannot continue to prospect
