have you ever got this error in Photoshop could not complete your request because something prevented the text engine from being initialized yeah that happened to me too when I took the internet Frances nothing really showed up that worked some people said it was something to do with the dodgy font that gets installed by Adobe Photoshop and some say it's something to do with the text engine and it needs to be installed well actually you don't need to reinstall your Photoshop software there's a quick and easy way to sort out this issue for Photoshop cs6 and I believe it also works for a Photoshop cs5 too unfortunately this is only for Windows PCs however it may apply to others but the instructions I'm going to give after the PC version I will run into the instructions for windows 7 or windows 8 base pcs it could possibly work for Vista but it's been so long since I've used it that I can't remember how the Vista file system works so first off you want to make sure you have exited all of your current running Adobe applications and you can check that they have finished running by opening the task manager right by pressing ctrl alt delete or control shift escape I believe if there are any running just hit the Delete key to stop them this is under the processes tab or if you're using Windows 8 I think it automatically shows you everything if you show the show more details when you open the task manager now once you've done that you can close task manager press the windows + r key at the same time which should bring up the run application alternatively you can search for the application from the Start menu once that's loaded up you want to type the following into the text box ascent user profile all as one word percent backslash AppData backslash local backslash Adobe and once you type that in hit enter and it will open up the file explorer at this location you'll notice a folder called type support you can't see this then it's possible that you may have to reinstall Photoshop but don't worry it will be there now what you want to do is delete this folder if you can see it and then you can close this window after that you want to reopen Photoshop and allow it to initialize all its settings at the beginning again with the splash screen and you should then have a working text engine allowing you to type all of all over your pictures to your heart's content I've hope you've enjoyed this quick fix for Photoshop let me know in the comment section down below for some more technical support for Windows 8 and I'm always happy to help don't forget to Like and subscribe and thanks for watching guys baby
