talking about airdrops i believe it was maddie and i talking about airdrops in particular metamask and dydx so i thought i'd go ahead and make a video for you guys showing you how to do this and why this video has become so costly is because i did it already i did one full go through and i forgot to share my screen with you guys so you guys just saw me sitting here talking to you guys and didn't actually see what i was doing but don't worry i was definitely burning through a lot of gas so we're gonna do it the second time and i guess i'll just add another wallet to my collection of potential airdrops in the future so we're going to go ahead and i'm actually going to share my screen this time guys sorry about that we're just going to do my whole window you guys can look at my toolbar we're not going to freak out too much sure actually let's go back i don't know if i shared audio so let me try that again stop screen all right so share audio make sure i do this right this time so i don't screw it up sure all right here we go so round two guys let's try this again so first i'm going to take you guys to an article um this has an article uh this is an article of potential future airdrops that we believe are coming down the road again this isn't 100 confirmed but based off what we've seen in 2020 and 2021 a lot of these exchanges in these dexes are doing air drops it's just a popular thing to do free money why not so metamask one of the biggest kind of suspects moving forward definitely a lot of people are thinking metamask is going to be one of the potential air droppers one of the most popular wallets we have for erc20 tokens and the big feature they've rolled out with lately is swapping directly in its browser add-on interface so you can literally swap your coins from your wallet and it's going to search a bunch of other dexes like one inch and uni and i don't think it does dydx but it searches a bunch of other dexes to see for the best price best price uh you guys are gonna see that they definitely add on a couple of their own fees as well because especially with these gas prices that are so high the fees get absolutely ridiculous so try to do these swaps when there's low gas fees otherwise you're going to be paying an arm and a leg to set up just one wallet for a potential airdrop so keep that in mind so the other one we're going to be doing today is dydx dydx has been around for a little bit now but now they offer leverage and future trading on a decentralized platform this one is gonna be a little bit more tricky a little bit more features that you're gonna have to read through uh because it is leveraged trading it's gonna require more requirements of you so be careful when what you click on and what you agree to and one more requirement for that might kind of throw a lot of people off is you will need to at least make trades of one ethereum we're not going to be doing leverage trading we're just going to do a spot trade and hopefully that makes us eligible for the airdrop but again i do not know what the requirements are so time will tell but you will need at least 1 000 ethereum and then obviously more for gas too so we're going to do these two exchanges today and we'll see how they go hopefully everything is recording and working correctly this time so i don't have to do this for a third time all right dydx dot exchange right here just gonna click on start trading all right so you can see here we're already set up for margin we're doing just doing spot trade today um and now we're going to go over here we want to make sure we're in eth uscc yep we're going to click deposit so there's one thing you have to agree it's not showing because my wallet's already connected since i did this earlier but it's going to ask to view your wallet you can click to accept on that again make sure you understand what you're agreeing to when you allow these exchanges to access your wallet and make sure there's no other additional things that are actually getting privileged to so that's all i did is i agreed for them to view my wallet address so right here where we are in spot accounts so make sure you're in spot account again make sure you're not on margin trading because if you do margin and you deposit deposit your ethereum in there then you have to pay the gas fees to pull it out and then redeposit so you'll start spending a lot of gas if you're not careful with this so we're going to go ethereum and oh i need to connect my new wallet that i made so let's go and do that real quick so actually you guys will get to see this so let's see disconnect connect make sure i'm in the right wallet actually yep so so you guys can see oops you guys can see i'm actually in account two because i've already done this so i'm going to count two just connected that and just so you guys know how bad the gas fees are i started at 1.4 ethereum so i lost what 1.5 or 0.15 uh ethereum did you just do one wallet so we're going to be doing a count two now go ahead and click off that so now we should be in account two turn spot make sure you go to deposit all right so this is coming up since this is a new wallet this is another thing i'd agree to because this is a leveraging uh platform you have to agree to a couple other things so i'll read through these again real quickly because i did last time uh these are the things that we're going to be agreeing with you must physically settle all trades that you're making that you make using dydx okay if you fail to maintain sufficient collateral your position may be liquidated including a penalty of up to five percent got it we're not gonna be doing that you must fully close and physically settle all margin positions you open within 28 days again not doing that if you fail to fully close a margin position or repay the margin borrowed within 20 days your position will be expired and forced closed including a penalty of up to five percent nope and then lastly you understand except that you are not permitted to access or trade any perpetual contracts on dydx because you are located in the united states again we're just doing a spot trade today all right this is us essentially virtually signed say we that that we agree all right you guys can see it automatically threw me into the margin account we don't want that we're going to spot so we're going to go here we're going to put one ethereum in i like to put a little bit of dust at the end so i can pull my one ethereum out clean like this so we're going to go right here confirm deposit 1.0001 ethereum yup you guys can see how disgusting the gas fees are oh my god and i'm just going to go fast for the sake of the video you guys are welcome smash like buttons save me share it do what you gotta do so right now you can see these three dots um loading so it's waiting for the ethereum to come into the wallet good thing about this is once the once the ethereum comes in any trades or transactions you do there's no fees once whatever you deposit in here you can move around accordingly obviously i'm not using this for any actual trades or leverage i'm just doing this for hopefully setting it up for a potential air drop so right now i have my ethereum my one ethereum plus a little dust now we're gonna sell to usdc so we're gonna go here and we're just gonna do not enough so yep we'll just do one place market order yup i agree to this transaction again guys be careful what you're signing in your metamask wallet if you don't know what you're signing you probably shouldn't be signing it again loading dots are going up here and where you can see right here it's in the process of exchanging my one ethereum for market buy of usdc right here so we'll let that go through i paid and well no i paid an exorbitant amount of gas to get it in this is just waiting for them to actually make my buy go through once this goes through i'm going to show you guys how to do the med mask air drop and then or metamask swap hopefully making you eligible for metamask airdrop and we're going to be exchanging essentially one ethereum for or one usdc and to back into ethereum so hopefully that makes any sort of requirements makes you eligible for the metamask airdrop if you guys saw the one inch airdrop there was requirements of the the transactions had to be done by this date or you had to have a certain amount of you actually had to have a certain monetary value of the transaction if it was past this date or you had to be a liquidity provider so it had different things okay so as you guys can see right here my usdc has come in so now we're going to go and we're going to withdraw this so you just click over here go to withdrawal all right we're in our spot account we no longer have ethereum so we got to switch to usdc and we want all our money back confirm withdrawal we're going to pay the most exorbitant gas fees ever just to get this out of here and then you guys will get to watch us go on metamasks so right now three dots are loading again so you know you're just waiting on your usdc to come out so we'll just kind of chill in here for a second while we wait for that to come out it shouldn't take any time because i paid top dollar for gas so okay there it goes and it's gone all right back to our address wait hopefully i sent it to the right one did i send it back to my other wallet hold on oh all right guys so i'm stupid uh you can see right here in my wallet right now all i have is the ethereum token i gotta add a token so don't freak out if you don't see it i'm just stupid and forgot to add uscc so it's good so you guys can see this part of the process so usdc boom next why are we not going here come on there we go as you can see there there's my money that's why i wasn't showing add tokens ah much better now you can see i have ethereum and usdc in my wallet now let's do a swap so we're in metamask now we're done with dydx hopefully we're eligible for that airdrop and now i'm going to show you how to do the metamask airdrop so we're going to go here we're going to go to swap we're gonna swap our usdc for ethereum we're gonna do max because we want all our stuff to go back in our usdc to go back into ethereum and then we're gonna get quotes and so this is what metamask does it chops checks all these pair swap you swap total air swap it's one inch it's checking all these for the best price again remember these things add extra fees so you're about to see some crazy gas fees here again so this is their best quote anywhere from 32 to 56 again guys this is a lot to do dirt this is not the best gas time but it's not the worst if you look right now we are sitting at 50 58 way for low 78 gway for the average and 86 quite for the high and my fees are this high like kind of gross but it is what it is right now i think that's the most current let me check that while that so now it's just processing so we're just going to wait i do want to make sure this is refreshed okay never mind gas fees are higher now but still those fees are higher than what they should be so it's processing we can view the activity so it's still pending all right said it failed let's see why it failed let's go back uh oh it went through okay so i don't know why it said it failed but uh okay it swapped and then i guess i tried to run the transaction again twice all right guys um so there you go i just swapped my usdc back to ethereum and you guys can see how freaking cost heavy or how gas heavy these transactions were so i did two wallets that are now set up potentially for a dui dx um airdrop and a metamask airdrop and i started with 1.4 eth now i'm left with essentially a 1.1 eth so this cost me 0.3 ethereum to do all the transactions to get it into dydx swapped over pulled the usdc out swapped the usdc for ethereum that cost me 0.3 ethereum so that is a lot that's a lot of money what let's go let's go take a look real quick and uh let's see how much that is 0.3 82 usdc well that's not right uh um 0.3 not three 394 dollars guys [Laughter] ow so that really hurt um like i said i just wanted to do this video for you guys real quick uh spend about 400 so feel free to like subscribe and share i know you're probably sick of me saying it but that video did just run me 394 dollars hopefully i will be compensated uh later when it comes to the air drops what we've been seeing for most these airdrops is usually somewhere between one and two ethereum worth and right now ethereum is at about a thousand dollars or a little bit over a thousand dollars yeah oh shoot we're like probably twelve hundred thirteen hundred dollars for ethereum and we've been seeing one to two ethereum worth on these airdrops so that will cover these costs for these wallets i made so let's say at the current price of ethereum what is the theory about right now one thousand three hundred dollars so you're talking about an airdrop hopefully of about thirteen hundred to twenty six hundred dollars for either one dydx or metamask and then you double that so you can talk anywhere from about twenty six hundred dollars up to fifty two hundred dollars so that'll more than make up for these gas fees just right now it hurts because the gas fees are so high it is a lot of money but if you have some of the extra money to spend and you're willing to take that risk then maybe it's something you want to do but um yeah very expensive video hope you guys enjoyed it cost me one extra one than what i was attending so that was a little
