[Music] de Sam automatically sends emails to keep you your staff and your customers up-to-date you can change the wording of every automated email and this amazing flexibility helps you match the tone and brand of your business right across to Zam in this video we're going to take a quick look at how you can change the wording of your emails in the admin panel head over to the communication section under settings Joe Sam lets you change the email text for customer admin and staff emails we're just going to look at customer emails but the process is the same for all emails on the left you can see a list of the different types of email sent to customers let's look at the booking confirmation email as you'd expect this email will automatically be sent to your customers when their bookings are confirmed you can also see that there are a number of different scenarios where this email can be sent for example the scenario one the email gets sent when the booking is confirmed but no payment is required this might be the case for a free booking such as an initial consultation or a special offer for scenario two the email would be sent when the booking is confirmed and a payment has been made scenarios let you easily choose specific wording to match the purpose of the email so in Scenario 2 you can see that the wording includes confirmation of the payment and also has a placeholder that contains receipt information we'll hear more about placeholders in a moment let's have a look at the booking reminder email as the name suggests this email is automatically sent to the customer to remind them about an upcoming booking every email has the same format the email subject and the email body you can also see different place holders these are surrounded by two curly brackets placeholders get replaced with the actual information required for an email when it gets sent there a powerful feature that ensures the correct information is included as well as allowing for personalization so let's look at how easy it is to customize emails for the subject let's shorten the text and personalize it to the customer I want to keep the account name placeholder but remove the rest of the text now I'll personalize it by putting in the customers first name so click insert placeholder and select the recipient first name placeholder now let's add some text and then add the booking start date placeholder and I can preview the email at any time the preview uses sample data to let you see what your email looks like and there's my updated subject line you can modify the wording in the email body in exactly the same way I want to put the name of the booking in the text so I'll click insert placeholder and then pick booking name make a few text edits and I'll add the staff member placeholder as well you can also add formatting to the text so I'll make the name of the booking bold and let's preview that okay that's looking pretty good once you finish modifying your email remember to save if you make a mistake like typing an incorrect placeholder name just Amaral alerts you when you try to save or preview you can always undo the change by pressing ctrl z on Windows or command Zed on the Mac you can also reset which will take you right back to the point of your last save the preview lets you see the email using the currently selected design for more information on how you can change the design of your emails watch our customizing email design help video you can also send a test email from the preview window this sends you an email using the sample data so you can see what the email looks like in your email app so we've seen how Joe Sam's emails come ready configured with default wording that keeps you and your customers informed about bookings do Sam also makes it really easy for you to match the tone and brand of your business by giving you complete flexibility to change the wording of any email if you'd like more in-depth information on this topic see our handy help guides at supporters AMCOM hope that's been useful and see you in the next video [Music]
