Send signature service credit card
in this video i'll review the amazon rewards and amazon prime credit card and give you my unbiased thoughts so you can decide if either of these cards are good for you [Music] there's probably a lot you want to know about these amazon credit cards i wanted to make a 2021 review for these cards because i still see a ton of questions on them and concerns about them so let's start from the top and work our way into the frequently asked questions about these cards instead of just going over like the features that most other youtube videos do i'm gonna go over all the questions that i've seen and i could find related to these cards but at the end of the video you should have a pretty good grasp on these amazon cards and understand whether either card is a good fit for you so let's start what is the amazon rewards credit card it's a credit card issued by a chase with no annual fee unlike the prime credit card you don't need amazon prime to be eligible for this card there's a 50 amazon welcome bonus as soon as you get approved this gets automatically loaded into your account you also receive three percent purchases at amazon and whole foods two percent back at gas stations restaurants and drug stores and finally one percent back on all other purchases you can use the points you earn on things like cash back as well as gift cards or several other things however i'm going to assume that most people are going to use their reward points on amazon if you've accumulated 2 000 points well that's 20 off your next purchase at amazon it's super easy to exchange points at checkout and if you have the amazon card you're probably obsessed with amazon like the rest of us so now let's take a look at the amazon prime credit card what is the amazon prime credit card it's a credit card issued by chase with no annual fee ironically though this card actually has a little bit better rewards than the reward card you get five percent back at amazon and whole foods two percent back restaurants gas stations and drugstores and finally one percent back on everything else there's also a prime exclusive where you get 20 back on rotating amazon categories and products that's pretty crazy if it's actually something you were going to buy anyways even though we all know most of our amazon purchases are impulse buys anyways or is that just me anyways you can use the points the same exact way you do with the rewards card now that we've had a chance to take a glance at both cards let's go over some of the questions that i've seen and some of the questions that you might have so what are the interest rates the interest rate or the apr is 14.24 to 22.24 based on your credit worthiness if you have a really good credit score you'll be closer to the 14 interest rate which is actually pretty good compared to some other credit cards out there we've all seen cards that are like 26 interest rate which is just straight robbery either way don't carry a balance on your card and you won't have to worry about paying interest are there any foreign transaction fees no there are no foreign transaction fees meaning if you use the card outside of the united states you're not going to get charged some fees or three percent interest like some other cards may do not sure how much traveling we're all doing with the current state of our world but it's a nice feature to have is the amazon prime credit card worth it well if you're currently an amazon prime user i absolutely think the prime card is worth getting you're already spending what 13 bucks a month on prime so why not take advantage and get some decent reward points to use on your shopping plus there's no annual fee to get that card if you're not a big amazon shopper you just wanted to see what the hype was around this card i honestly think there's better cards out there with better sign up bonuses and better perks what credit score do i need to get approved well many publications are going to claim that you need a 640 plus to have a reasonable chance at getting approved i'm gonna guess with a 680 or higher you could be pretty confident don't be surprised if you're around 640 and you decide to apply and you get denied is there a hard pull on my credit when i apply yes they will do a credit check and there will be a hard inquiry on your credit report can i use the amazon credit card anywhere yes so don't be confused here but these are the visas so they can be used pretty much anywhere is accepted which is pretty much everywhere however the amazon store card is a different card that i didn't discuss in this video and that card is actually limited to purchases on amazon and retailers that accept amazon pay so what is the credit limit on these cards well it's going to be different for everyone depending on your credit history some people may have a thousand dollar credit limit and someone else may have a ten thousand dollar limit do the amazon credit cards report to the credit bureaus yes these cards are going to report to all three major credit bureaus why did my credit score drop when i got the amazon card your credit score may have dropped slightly for a couple of reasons you received a hard inquiry and that's a new account which is going to decrease your average age of your accounts don't worry though you've just extended the amount of credit you have and your on-time payments are both going to help you increase your score in no time is the card plastic or metal the black prime card is metal and the blue rewards card is plastic in my opinion the metal card looks sleeker and it's obviously going to be more durable why are there so many negative reviews for this card on amazon i think with most cards we're you know we're always going to see positive and negative reviews some people might love the card especially the big amazon shoppers however there is going to be a lot of negative reviews for one reason or another just like there is on this card some people may hate chase some have issues with the customer service and there's many more reasons so go on amazon and check it out for yourself if you're interested in getting the card i'd highly recommend that you go check out those reviews and just to get a better feel if this is a good card for you is there actually instant approval for these cards yes there is potentially instant approval for some people amazon claims that you could get approved in less than 15 seconds and begin using the card without it even in your possession however i don't know what's the determinant for uh who gets approved instantly and who has to potentially wait weeks are there any other perks with the cards yes there are a few since they are visa signature cards so you'll get a lot of behind the scene perks that other visa cards get some of these include travel accident insurance lost luggage reimbursement baggage delay insurance zero fraud liability roadside dispatch and purchase protection these may sound like some great things to have but most of these tend to go unused for the majority of most people so which one should i get well if you're sold on getting one of these cards prime users should definitely get the prime card and non-prime users have a little bit tougher of a decision to make since you don't have a prime membership you'd have to buy one which is essentially 150 a year but remember with the prime card you get a 70 amazon welcome bonus and better reward points so then you have to weigh your options only you know how much you shop on amazon and if it's worth getting that membership or not can i cancel prime after getting approved for the prime card haha this is kind of a sneaky question some people are going to try to buy prime for a month just to get approved for that prime card and take advantage of the reward points unfortunately that's not going to fly as soon as you cancel your prime membership your prime card essentially is going to turn into that blue rewards card amazon claims you can still get the same card or you can still use that same card after you've canceled but you're not gonna get those same reward points that you were getting bummer right come on jeff bezos let us live all right that pretty much sums up all of the questions hopefully you have a better grasp on both of these cards and are a little bit more informed about making your decision if you have any other questions feel free to leave them in the comments below also there's free stocks free audiobooks and an amazon free 30-day free trial in the description if you're interested have an awesome day and we'll see in the next video
